  • @qqqqqwwww333 just remembered The Editors as well :)

  • @qqqqqwwww333 also try Cold Cave

  • They sound like Interpol

  • I love this song.

  • 3 people took an uninnocent, elegant fall into the unmagnificant lives of adults.

  • walk home cutie.

  • you are a cab.

  • 72,000 views, wheres the other 2 0's gone? :S is this a joke?

  • I LOVE The National.

    Hands down best band ever!!

  • "You get mistaken for strangers by your own friends

When you pass them at night under the silvery, silvery citi-bank lights

Arm in arm in arm and eyes and eyes glazing over...

Oh, you wouldn't want an angel watching over

Surprise, surprise, she wouldn't want to watch

Another un-innocent, elegant fall into the unmagnificent lives of adults"

When Henry David Thoreau said, "Most men lead lives of quiet desperation and go to the grave with the song still in them"...THIS is that song.

  • i can't stop listening to this damn song!

another uninnocent, elegant fall into the unmagnificent lives of adults

my exact phase at this exact moment...

  • why does everyone hate vevo?? they bring us all the music easily findable, pretty good if u ask me !

  • Going to see The National and Arcade Fire next week!

  • DAMN! Portal's gunna have a hell of a soundtrack.

  • thumbs up if the only reason your here is portal 2

  • Only difference with Interpol: This band keeps getting better. With Interpol it's a downward spiral.

  • I love how in their videos they always highlight the artificiality of music videos by showing the film equipment etc

  • I am dating myself, but they remind me of The Smiths, Heaven 17 and early Human League without the synthesizers............Good combination in my opinion! I like 'em.

  • @bairnoboy There's certainly a Morrissey sense to some of the lyrics (Berninger is an amazing lyricist, too). I think there's a Smiths connection due to the union of melancholy and melody.

  • what is scary is that this has had only 26k views, wake up people, fckn genius work here, the national have something cool, smooth, emotive, aggressive, passive, it's all there, very slick outfit, will pay money for the album

  • @proylea If you think about it, a huge chunk of the views most mainstream music posted on youtube gets is likely from people just wanting to know what all the hype is about.

  • this song is one of my favourites!

  • Just noticed the "Invetigation in Progress" sign on the door. You're a twat, Gareth. A twat and a knob-end!

  • adulthood is a lot like jumping on your bed wearing headphones by yourself. no one can know you're having fun.

  • the national are the velvet underground of this century. amazingly deep songs. thank god you moved to new york. lost in cleveland.

  • @steven1822 Cinci

  • 0:01 to skip ads

  • I HAte you VEVO!!

  • TIMMY!!!!!

  • I'm definitely going through the same BS that these lyrics so astutely encompass

    effin' right!

  • i LOVE songs that have this sound. The kinda calm and tranquil but still exciting music. Does anyone know some other songs that sound like this or have the mood that this song has?

  • @qqqqqwwww333 Interpol

  • @qqqqqwwww333 just about any Manchester/brit postpunk haha

  • @qqqqqwwww333

Interpol's Turn on the Bright Lights album

  • @qqqqqwwww333 carlo88moe basically said this, but more specifically check out Joy Division.... it's basically where this sound comes from. They became New Order (google it if u get into either) which has a brighter, I don't wanna say happier sound, but is MUCH more on the pop aesthetic side of things, though the subject matter is in line with this, Joy Division, Interpol, etc. Also, I'm prolly gonna get slammed for this, but check out Depeche Mode's Black Celebration album... enjoy :-D

  • @qqqqqwwww333

yeah Interpol sounds a lot like this. Try listening to the song ''Slow Hands''

  • @ibvegetable135 I agree, they sound a bit like interpol, especially the baritone vocalists, although I find that The National has a deeper sounding vocalists and is "drummier",while interpol is Bassier

  • @qqqqqwwww333 Interpol, Joy Division, She Wants Revenge, The Blue Orchid, The Names, TV21, The Go-Betweens and The Cure (first three albums).

  • @qqqqqwwww333 Interpol mostly their old stuff.

  • @qqqqqwwww333 lovers in japan by coldplay and pda by interpol and obstacle 1 by interpol

  • @qqqqqwwww333 anything by the national

  • @qqqqqwwww333 incubus?

  • @qqqqqwwww333 interpol?

  • @d00lim I can definitely here interpol

  • @qqqqqwwww333 Try broken social scene

  • @qqqqqwwww333 It reminds me of New Order and Joy Division. That's what so awesome about it.

  • @qqqqqwwww333 The Walkmen - "The Rat"

  • @qqqqqwwww333

Just go to Lastfm.com and type in the national and it should play a whole bunch of music similar.

  • @qqqqqwwww333 Interpol

  • @qqqqqwwww333 You Are a tourist - Death Cab for Cutie

  • @qqqqqwwww333 Pretty much everything from The National

  • big balls can get you far

  • please comment my videos! :D
