  • Dude needs to join P-Funk.

  • I would love to see them do a rock album, i have no doubt it would be awesome.

  • 1:35 get the hell outa the way

  • Saw this guy on Brane Rončel (slo) few years back. Didn't know who he was(or what he was playing for that matter). Now I stumble upon this again and it's got the same vibe, you know. This is the shit! Thumbs up.

  • he fucked that guitar like it was no one's business

  • questlove rockin the drums, kirk killin wit the guitar solo, hendrix would be proud.... nd this is essentially a hip hop group too

  • HOLY MOTHER OF GOD! roots plus hendrix and a tuba!!!! epic

  • is kirk playing one of those jimi hendrix les pauls gibson got thrashed for making a few years back? if so, this video just became that much more epic

  • Sick!

  • uestlove+ hendrix=atomic bomb

  • When I listen to The Roots I have to turn down all my BASS boosts on my stereo....they have that part, completely, covered.

  • They should have picked another song to cover... ?Love doesn't have a fraction of the power and groove of Buddy Miles. Not impressed. Personally, I think they're overrated and benefit from the fact that they're the only "band" as opposed to the best band.

  • @clh2192 well you have the right to your opinion but the roots are dope i mean of coursse no one can do what buddy miles did on the droms but questlove is an amazing drummer and the roots is for sure the best hip hop band ever imo

  • THE BAND OF GYPSIES ARE THE BEST BAND THAT HENDRIX HAD IN MY OPINION. THEY ADDED THAT FUNK GROOVE BACK IN TO HIS MUSIC. THE ROOTS ARE AWESOME

  • the roots can cover any artist from any genre of music...no joke.

  • nice but check out the cover of machine gun by Ed Fleck

  • scheisze, wie krank.

aber definitiv die beste version von allen

  • i was probably about 2 rows behind you man. i never thought i'd be coming back from Langerado this past year saying the Roots was in my top 3 favorite porformances of Langerado '08, but i did. Thye especially blew me away during this interlude where they did that crazy verion of the Star Spangled Banner, this and Dylans Masters of WAr. simply incredible!!

  • tuba for a bass? is that whats up? crazy and cool!i saw kirk douglas play with tm stevens 2001 at the wetlands nyc.he was amazing and i said huh kirk douglas thats an easy name to remember.so glad the root got the hook up,they needed a bad ass guitarist at the time.

  • It's a sousaphone, it get's confused for a tuba but it's not, that's why Blackthought calls him "Tuba Gooding Jr."

  • I remember this coming on right after their masters of war cover and me and my friends had already started making our way to the Beastie Boys set...I ran my ass back to this stage when I heard the sound of Hendrix in the air...Quest Love KILLS it

  • Really great version and merely not just an attempt. Hats off to all the members of The Roots. This is a real treat. Thanks

  • There's always someone who says every black guy looks like Wayne brady.

  • i loved it

  • Damn this was the jam, incredible

  • sweet
