Hm... I do not know... but, I think it could be done much easier that you render your bench, and background, do some retouch in PhotoShop, and render pegeon, and overlay it with alpha channel... This is so complex that you done.... What do you think?
@LucasMartell tbh the way you set up the lights is rather complicated, I myself would have simply used a single light with GI and AO enabled, much simpler, and I get pretty much the same result as you :)
hey man, just stumbled across these pod casts, they seem really helpful, like mini tutorials into how other animators work. im just starting off at the moment, going into my 3rd year of animating, but these seem really helpful in giving me new ideas for how to work. if you could so some tutorials, for compositing and stuff, i'll be sure to make notes! cheers man!

@joviczarko It's a video, not a single frame...

@nikhilesh93 Ya, I agree but bench does not moving. So it could be done by using PS or AfterEffects in postproduction....

If Pixar saw your work, they would definitely want to hire you. I LOVE Pigeon Impossible.

Nice video, but what you didn't say is WHY you are doing all these passes instead of rendering it all at once. Does it render faster this way?
Spinal83 2 years ago
Yeah its much faster. Check out episode 18 for a detailed answer: youtube. com/watch?v=aqf3ODHtPp8 (Remove the space)

Thanks for your answer, I will watch it when I've seen all the videos in between.
