I can understand your misunderstanding on Christopher Columbus. Its a common misunderstanding that before his time everyone believed the world was flat. This is not true. Many lower class and under educated people believed that. Often those who believed in mythological gods believed it but almost all philosophers of that time had already discovered the world was round because as a ship came in to the harbor it's sails appeared over the horizon first. Columbus just proved it once and for all
I totally agree with you CRoadwarrior is a tool that needs to get laid A.S.A.P. Anyone who takes the bible literally is devoid of common sense and logic.
@bumper302 Whether or not I need to "get laid" has no bearing on the fact that I DO know what I'm talking about, I do know how to do credible research, and I know my faith and the Bible better than most of you guys who do nothing more than quote texts out of context and then act as if you don't even know what "context" means. Sadly, some of you don't. And anyone who has watched my videos would know that I actually USE both common sense and logic in my arguments. Guess you missed that.
@FlyPaypa get your shit together, and then try to enlighten me. I guess when may 21st comes around next weekend we'll see if your beliefs are correct... course only half of the christians believe that May 21st holds any significance because the bible is open to so much personal interpretation that you can't get your god damn story straight.
@FlyPaypa I quit listening to you when you discarded facts for references to the bible. It's been awhile since I've been on youtube like this so don't feel like you've got one over on me. Typical knob slobbers like yourself really do get sensitive when your almighty has been questioned, huh? I also can assure you, that you spend more time watching television than I do. The bible is one big contradiction after another. You and the rest of the hostile christians need to get together,
The idea the Columbus was one of the first people to believe the world was round is a complete fallacy. The first person to discover the shape of the Earth was Pythagoras, and the spherical Earth was generally accepted by the educated. Columbus thought that the diameter of the Earth was about 15 692mi, which is wrong; it's 24,901.55mi. Although people prior to Pythagoras and those who didn't know his theorems, still probably thought the Earth was flat, which would have included bible people.
Finally, I suggest reading books instead of calling others morons. People do not respect others who cannot respect themselves or cannot respect others.
Also, you have to remember that's not far-fetched to come to the conclusion that scientific facts can be lost to superstition and ignorance over time. Therefore, just because the Bible teaches the earth was spherical and that knowledge could've been lost does not prove that those in the Bible could not have known the world was a sphere.
MissDisastrous, your argument does not follow (a nonsequiter). There exists evidence the Greek Pythogoreans, Aristotle, eratothenes and many others in the Ancient world also knew the world was around. Additionally, there are some historical arguments that the Europeans at the time of Columbus thought the world was smaller. The fear of crossing of the ocean was based on limited knowledge of whether and superstitious beliefs of sea serpents.
I don't think so! To my knowledge, VFX does not know Biblical Greek and Hebrew, and has not studied Scripture (and related topics) as long or as indepth as I have.
Hey, what's up with the name-calling? Did I ever call you anything but "MissDisastruous"? Now, I am a working man who is also working on a Masters degree, so I don't have a great deal of time to respond quickly to all the comments I get. But in time, I do respond, so I do ask people to be patient.
