All those old bits of bible passages, don't always agree with each other. In some cases, notes placed in the margins on one old page, became part of the text -- a hundred years later. So his agrument it without merit; but what do ya do -- when you believe in inerrancy? These kinds of christians see Jesus as a devout christian........not/ i say not a Jew! How can you argue with a point of view like that?
Matthew 7:5 (KJV) Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
No...I'm telling you to get the beam out of your eye before you criticize us. You told us to "shut up" and "go soulwinning." I'm asking you to do the same.
The Bible is seeing God’s breath. It's HIS SPIRIT speaking in printed WORDS the TRUTH, which is Jesus Christ the SPIRITFILLED, HOLY SON OF GOD. His words? "Spirit and Life". "It is the Spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the WORDS that I speak unto you they are SPIRIT and they are LIFE". Jhn 6: 63. Heb 1:1-2 "God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us BY HIS SON." KJV has SPIRIT.

If Jesus Christ is the only begotten, PERFECT, SPIRIT-FILLED Son of God. Then SO IS GOD'S PRESERVED WORDS--no matter what language it is COPIED and translated into.
1Peter 1:23 "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which *LIVETH* and *ABIDETH* FOREVER". Peter used a "preserved COPY" of GOD'S WORDS. This Scripture contains BOTH "inspiration" (GOD BREATHED) .."which LIVETH" and preservation "ABIDETH FOREVER". There is no life outside THE SPIRIT OF GOD (GOD'S BREATH). Therefore there is no mistake; THE WORD OF GOD IS "SPIRIT". God desires that is HOW we are to worship HIM--"IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH". John 4:23
this whole arguement is rediculous, scripturally speaking the NT CANNOT be the "Word of God", because... (this is almost as obvious as evolution cannot be true because you can't have an animal changing it's form over "millions of years" because it wouldn't survive 1 day in it's inbetween state) when it was written THERE WAS NO NT FOR IT TO REFER TO, there i said it. Heres a hint, the scritures are referred to as .... the scriptures; the "word of God" is different, it has to do with "the truth"
how about everyone shut there mouth about brother schaap last i checked he is a mad of god so u betterwatch what u say about the man of god or god will get u
God has PRESERVED His inspired Words in COPIES. We do not have "originals": they are a myth. The original(s) are in Heaven. It is the Words that are inspired/God 'breathed' not the writers. When Paul wrote his Epistles, they became a COPY of what God told him to write and it was preserved at the same time on parchments. All we have are COPIES of what God breathed. All Divinely preserved COPIES are what Jesus and His disciples read from.
HEY ILLUMINATY, JESUIT!! JACK SCHAAP NEVER LIES!!! REMEMBER THAT, AND TELL TO YOUR FRIENDS HE´S NO FEAR FOR NOTHING.LOOK UP, SOON HE WILL BE BACK ..MY BIG BOSS JESUSCHRIST AND GIVE YOUR PAY!! SEE U SOON!!
Like sheep led astray by personality. Notice the use of the word "technically" and "basically" The man can not get up and say for a FACT! In his "summit he said the KJV is full of errors - over 10k then in a sermon posted on youtube, he said there are no errors. The man can't make up his mind. He got his education from Pillsbury, a Catholic rooted college. No wonder he can't say we have a perfect preservation of the inspiration of Gods Word.
The historic fundamental position--see The Fundamentals--is that the originals are inspired, and that God's Word has been preserved in the totality of the extant manuscripts. This is the position of Machen, W.B. Riley, Bob Jones, John R. Rice, Ironside,James M. Gray, R.A. Torrey, Spurgeon--all of the early and great fundamentalists. The KJV only view started in the 1970's and later and has done nothing but divide believers. See Bob Sumner's webpage for its history.
@flesh5371 This is the whole problem-- "...teaching for doctrines the commandments of men." Matt. 5:9 How about this one? Col. 2:8 "Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ." It doesn't matter what so-called "great men of the past" say--.."LET GOD BE TRUE AND EVERY MAN A LIAR". I'm sticking with the Word of God (KJV). Even John Rice praised Billy Graham!

Fundamental humanism!
@flesh5371 Lifting up men always has led to error. Even the best men are 'men' at best. And I don't have to see Bob Sumner's webpage either. (just more traditions of men) Fundamental humanism is at the heart of "the traditions of fundamentalism". The crowd has always been the wrong direction to go in scripture. God's Word will stand for itself without spurgeon's, torey, jones, riley, rice, gray's help!
@flesh5371 Can you read Greek and Hebrew? Are you able tonight to hold in your hand and decipher and read every word that proceeds out God's mouth from those manuscripts? If not, then YOU DO NOT HAVE GOD'S PRESERVED WORDS! It is the "other versions" that have caused division. It does not matter what so-called great "fundamentalists" of the past have said. John R. Rice used to praise Billy Graham! Let GOD BE TRUE! All men are liars. Bob Sumner forgot to list Psalm 12:6-7 in KJV history.
YO CONOZCO A ESTE GRAN PREDICADOR JACK SCHAPP, Y JAMAS EN SU VIDA SERAN COMO EL AUNQUE LO INTENTEN, PORQUE EL ES UN REAL AMERICAN. QUE AMA SU CONSTITUCION Y ES HUMANO, SI, YO LO CONOSCO Y SE COMO EL VIVE DEJANDO QUE SU SUELDO SE VAYA A LA CHINA PARA QUE LAS ALMAS CONOSCAN A JESUCRISTO, SI ESCRIBES ALGO MALO DE EL ES PORQUE, TE DIJO LA VERDAD, O ERES MASON O SACERDOTE JESUITA QUE QUIERES DESTRUIRLO, PERO CUIDADO, JACK SCHAPP TIENE EL ESPIRITU SANTO, Y NO PUEDES TOCARLO...REMEMER THAT LOL!!!
@TheSevnthWarrior I have more respect for a gang leader than someone like you who uses a bunch of different bibles and says they are all the word of God.
@solascripturas it is both inspired and preserved. stay out of your lexicon, compare scripture w/ scripture and it's pretty obvious. The bible is perfectly capable of defining itself and nowhere does it say a translation or interpretation cannot be inspired.
Then go away and worship your man-god Schaap. This "man of God" can't even tell me where to find the perfect word of God in English - because he doesn't believe it exists! HE is the one lying to everyone! Not us!
I was there when he said the KJV was NOT inspired and that is an issue people. The Bible is our foundation without that we will fail. Go ahead and go to Pastor's School 2010 and learn from Schaap how to build a church with an"uninspired Word of God" I will stick my my INSPIRED PRESERVED WORD OF GOD
seems like semantics to me, the man seems to believe the KJV is correct, its just the way he is looking at it is that the original languages are the preserved words but that b/c of them our english Bible is translated correctly, so...the King James IS accurate...soo...what is the practical use of all this arguing?
There is no inspiration without preservation and there is no perservation without inspration! Simply an equation like faith and repentance go together!
IFB pastors better disfellowship their church from Schaap FBC before he does damage to the KJV's testimony of inspiration for 400 years. This is the start of decay of IFB of perfect example as Schapp's belief exposed. He did affect our church! Thanks alot Jack Schaap for your apostate view on KJV.
@ashleytisdale344 I tend to use many Bibles for cross referencing, but I mainly my KJV & NKJV...however, The New American Standard is THE most accurately translated, word for word, as translated from the original Greek, Hebrew etc.
The only translation I have enough troubles with not to use is the NIV.
@ashleytisdale344 So wut u r saying is that Mexicans, Jews, and all of the other nationalities can never have God's Word, because God's Word is only found in the King James Bible. The King James Bible is God's inspired Word for the English-speaking people. The Mexicans have another Bible which is, likewise, inspired by God, as do the Jews & the Italians, and other nationalities.
@ashleytisdale344 You mean the KJV is "Only word of God for English". I agree. But most people just parrot what they have heard from some loud-mouth somewhere and do very little research themselves. And did you know that the Majority Greek text had already been translated into nearly every European tongue BEFORE 1611 KJV was even printed? The 47-54 KJV translators used them to compare their work on the KJV. Some 16 different languages already had the inspired, preserved WORDS of God.
IN the last days many will fall away from the faith and many false prophets will arise. Here we find such a one. Pray that he might be restored if he fell away to begin with, if not then that he might recieve Christ Jesus for real.
The Word being preserved is not limited to the original languages... because there is no final Bible in Hebrew or Greek today! But we have a final English Bible! The KJB.
Sure, the Scripture is in the originals, but our authority is the English of the KJB because:
1. it is the correct text
2. it is the correct translation
3. it was made by learned men
4. it has been checked by many people
5. it is all in one book which is in a language which many people in the world can access today.
Did you even listen to what Dr Spock ssaid in that sermon?!
"Did God preserve those words.... in other languages? God preserved those words that he gave.."
He had a whole illustration where he brought people out of the audience to show that God's promise of preservation only relates to the original languages
Of course then he sent this letter out to the alumni contradicting himself. Schaap is a fork tongued LIAR. Anyone that looks at what he says w/o trying to preserve HA's rep can see it
I was there when he preached it. I have carefully studied Bro. Schaap's position, because I am planning on going to HAC, so it's very important to me.
Bro. Schaap's illustration stated that God's promise of INSPIRATION only relates to the original languages. You're getting those two very important words mixed up. He NEVER said that preservation only relates to the original languages. That has always been his position. I've spent hours studying this because my future depends on it.
Its funny how he means INSPIRATION when he SAYS GODS WORDS.
@ about 45min in the original sermon -
. "let us say to all the folks making noise: God didnt say I promise to preserve your english bible God said i promise to preserve my words."
@20:30 "did God promise to preserve... did God speak english from moses down to... you should be sitting down there John... moses to John? and God promosed to preserve his what?" His answer was not inspiration, it was his WORDS
Gladly. The point he was making is that if we say that the KJV is the only standard of comparison, what about the other languages? The standard should be the Greek, Hebrew, and Aramaic because those were the languages He inspired the writers with. Again, he NEVER said that God did not preserve the KJV. He was saying that English is not the only language that God preserves His Word with. God's preservation is just as valid for the Spanish, the Chinese, and everyone else.
You've said twice now "He NEVER said that preservation only relates to the original languages."
shcapp said "God didnt say I promise to preserve your english bible God said i promise to preserve my words." To make a distinction like that he would have to believe Gods Words and our English bible are two different things. And he does, he stated repeatedly Gods words are the originals.
That statement does not mean that God didn't preserve the english Bible. What if I never said that I promise that I won't walk? Does that mean I'll never walk? You're adding to what he's saying. If you took it in the context of what he was trying to get across you would know he wasn't saying that. I already explained this.
I didnt ask you to retype what schaap said. I said explain how The King James is NOT the Bible.
Is the Preserved Word of God as you called it, not the bible. Also, has schaap ever used the word "Bible" to refer to the king james. Thus making his statment of drawing distinction between "the Bible" and "King James" that much more ridiculous
Do you agree that if schaap says The bible is inspired, then he cant think KJ is the bible or else hed be saying the KJB is inspired?
You said, "He NEVER said that preservation only relates to the original languages."
Schaap said, "God said he'd preserve his words. did God speak english to anyone... from moses to John? And God promised to preserve his What? Words and what language did God speak those in? Heb. Aram. & Grk. So if God promosed to preserve his words. Than what he preserved were those words that he gave."
He said things like this for over 25min. including...
"God didnt say I promise to preserve your english bible God said i promise to preserve my words."
His whole discussion was on the promise of preservation of his words not the preservation of inspiration. God never said ill keep my inspiration preserved, he said he'd keep his words. Its clear to anyone without the agenda of not thinking HAC is wrong that schaap thinks the KJB is inferior to the originals which the opposite of KJO position
It's a technicality. Technically the KJV is a perfect translation of the inspired Word of God. Again if I wrote a book, and it was translated to Chinese, technically it's not what I wrote, it's a translation of what I wrote, but it's ridiculous to say that I'm a liar if I say that I wrote this book when I'm referring to the translation. Just as it's ridiculous to call Bro. Schaap a liar because he says that the Bible is inspired when he says that the KJB technically is not.
God did not write the KJB; He inspired the originals, and preserved the KJ translation. You're failing to see the difference between inspiration, and preservation. Both imply 100% accuracy, but they are done through different divine methods.
@natkra90 There are NO "originals" they are in HEAVEN. Can you read Greek and Hebrew? Are you able tonight to hold in your hand and decipher and read every word that proceeds out God's mouth from those manuscripts? If not, then YOU DO NOT HAVE GOD'S PRESERVED WORDS! It is the WORDS that are inspired not men who wrote them down. Jesus and the John the Baptist had COPIES of the inspired WORDS.
@locustweed Bro. Schaap has many times before and many times since stated the opposite of that. If you listened to Him preach three times a week, you would know that he simply misspoke when he said, "You do not have God's preserved Words." If you asked him if he believed that in an interview he would definitely deny it.
God breathed into Adams nostrils the BREATH OF LIFE. "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:"
"The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life."
According to Jesus' own WORDS, the breath of God (inspiration) is where ever HIS WORDS are quoted, spoken, copied. If HIS WORDS ARE SPIRIT AND ARE LIFE, what you are saying is false. God's breath is ALWAYS on His WORDS.
@locustweed You're grossly taking John 6:63 out of context. He wasn't talking about any written text. He was talking about the Words He was speaking, and if you apply your idea of inspiration to Genesis 3, you get a very warped idea. If you take your logic to its end, you'd have to conclude that every word that anyone speaks is inspired by God because Adam was inspired by God. That's just foolish.
Jesus Christ is the WORD John 1:1. The WORD was GOD. Yes, your idea is foolish and shows a wild imagination. and No, that is your logic, not mine. Let me reel you in back to earth. All of God's WORDS today are COPIES. Jesus and his disciples read and quoted COPIES of the Old Testament. When Paul wrote his epistles they were COPIES of what God had already settled in Heaven. (Psa. 119:89) There are no "originals" but in Heaven. Since Jesus is God and perfect there must be a "perfect" Bible.
@locustweed Of coarse He's the Word, but Jesus said in John 6:63 "The words that I SPEAK." He was referring to the spoken Word. This is why the Bible says it is GIVEN by inspiration. It doesn't say it is a continuous inspiration just as we don't believe every man is inspired by God because Adam was originally inspired. God did not inspire the King James Bible translators. If He did, then the translators wouldn't have called for revision to their own translation. God doesn't make mistakes.
@natkra90 Every word that Jesus spoke IS the WORD OF GOD, because HE is God. How else can God transmit His BREATHED WORD except by GIVING IT?! It continues to carry the same power of LIFE and ENERGY according to Hebrews 4:12. Otherwise, why read it? Why memorize it? Why quote it? It has power, THAT'S WHY. By the way, Adam was NOT inspired by God he was created and GOD BREATHED LIFE into him. I never said KJV translators were "inspired" but the WORDS were! The printers made the mistakes LOL!
@locustweed No one here is saying the Bible doesn't have power and life. I think your understanding of the word inspiration is different. When the Bible says, all Scripture is given by inspiration of God, it literally means God breathed the words to the writers. All Bro. Schaap was pointing out is that God didn't breath the words into the KJV translators. So, you're making a big fuss over nothing if you agree with that.
@natkra90 IT CANNOT HAVE POWER AND LIFE unless it continues to have God's breath on it. It is no different than any piece of literature. The reason it has power is BECAUSE IT IS INSPIRED BY GOD! There is no other explanation you can give that makes IT no better than any other literature.
@locustweed The power and life is found in the truth it contains specifically of the Gospel. As Paul said, "it [the Gospel] is the power of God unto salvation." You get eternal life not by just believing the words are true, but that its message is true. This is why the Word is alive, power, dividing, and miraculous. It contains the Gospel in its purest most complete form. Every jot and title ultimately points to this message. Without the Gospel, the Bible is without cause.
There is no disputing the Gospel is the power of God unto SALVATION. The only possible way TRUTH has power is because it is GOD BREATHED TRUTH. There is truth in mathematics and some science, even baking bread but it is not GOD BREATHED. All truth is equal unless there is GOD behind it to make it THE TRUTH.
@locustweed No. What makes the truth special is the Gospel. It is full of life and power because the Gospel is full of life and power. I'm not talking mathematics; I'm talking about the fact that Jesus died for our sins and rose again. That's where the power and life comes from. Without the Gospel, the Holy Ghost wouldn't of had anything worth breathing about to the original authors. The Holy Spirit's very power to quicken the elect comes from the power to raise Jesus from the dead.
@natkra90 That is so good what you are saying, however you are missing the point; without God BREATHING it the Gospel just becomes another story of literature. The Power of the Gospel is because the "Spirit" (breath) of God quickens it and pierces men's hearts. Without the SPIRIT ("breath,") dare I say "inspiration"? Same word! I do not see why you do not see the connection.
@locustweed Ok well there's your problem right there. John 3 uses a different Greek word for breath than is used in II Tim. 3. They are not the same word. The word pnuema is used in John 3. The word pnuestos is half the word for the phrase inspiration of God. Every other time this Greek word is translated to wind in the KJV. There's never a reference to any special power related to this word. The word pnuema is used in reference to the Holy Spirit many times, but it is not found in II Tim 3:16.
@natkra90 Oh please! You don't believe the Word of God has any special SPIRIT on it today and I do. The Greek words are similar as it is in the English. I see no problem (Spirit-Inspiration) It is a combination of 2 word TO BREATHE and DEITY= "GOD'S BREATH" !
@locustweed No. There is a difference. If they were the same, God would have given the same Greek word. The Holy Spirit does speak to the believer as he reads the Word. He reveals mysteries to us we would have never understood without Him. I'm not discounting His role in revealing Scripture, but on the same token we should not adjust the Bible to fit our beliefs. Our beliefs must align with Scripture. I used to believe like you about this issue. I sat under Bro. Hyles' ministry.
@natkra90 Oh how I miss him! Matt.12:28 the word "pnuema" does have special meaning "Spirit" of God. You are quibbling trying to make an issue of the Greek. Do you speak Greek? Fluently?
I don't speak Greek fluently. What I do is look up how a certain Greek word is translated in the KJV to get an understanding of the Word. I use the Bible to define the Bible in this way. Pnuema is the word for breath and Spirit for the most part. Pnuestos is only used seven times by itself, and all seven times it is in relation to wind.
The actual word, θεόπνευστος or "theopneustos" is a combination of 2 Greek words. The phrase “given by inspiration of God,” is *one* word in the Greek text. So your so-called distinction does not exist here. It simply means "theo"=GOD + "pneustos"= wind, breath, spirit. The fact it was "GIVEN" is not even supported by the use of the word except the translators noted "is" as an understood present tense action of GOD BREATHED! This is interesting because of VERSE 15-- check it out!
@locustweed I said pneustos is half of the word for the phrase. I figured you would know the other half was for God. There is a distinction. There is a reason it was translated to given by inspiration. If it is a mistake and it's inspired, then God made a mistake so you contradict yourself there. It is given by God's breathe, but it's not the same idea that is presented in John 3. It's the same idea as II Peter 1:21.
You are NOT LISTENING. The present tense "is" is understood since "given" is not in the Greek Word it would refer to the context found in verse15 ."And that from a child thou hast know the HOLY SCRIPTURES, which ARE able to make thee wise unto salvation which is in Jesus Christ." Notice it is "the holy scriptures". Paul is refering to Timothy's COPIES he had. They are the ones present tense "ARE" that Timothy still had which Paul states ALL IS "GODBREATHED". There is NO mistake!
@locustweed I understand. The Bible is still the book that was given by inspiration. That's like saying that a book is still the book that was written by a certain author. That doesn't really prove anything though. It certainly doesn't mean that God is still giving more Scripture.
That is why your understanding of the WORD OF GOD is skewed. You look at it just as if it were ANY OTHER book written by men. Shame on you! IT IS GOD BREATHED and it "LIVETH" and "ENDURETH FOREVER." When it is properly COPIED into another tongue it "LIVETH" and "ENDURETH FOREVER". All of the European translations of the Antiochian texts IS the WORD OF GOD which "LIVETH" and "ENDURETH FOREVER". Timothy"s COPY is called the "holy scriptures" IT IS GODBREATHED and "LIVETH AND ENDURETH FOREVER"!
@locustweed I do not, and shame on you for fulfilling Satan's role in accusing the brethren. I believe as much as you do that the KJB is the living Word of God. Not only do I believe it is the Word of God, I TAKE IT LITERALLY. I don't have to twist what it says to defend it as if it can't fend for itself. I have 100% confidence in what it says. I don't have to have any preacher make up stuff to affirm my beliefs. Don't attack me over your shallow thinking.
NO you don't!--YOU DON'T believe it "LIVETH" and "ABIDETH FOREVER". Anytime the WORD OF GOD "IS GIVEN BY" THE HOLY SPIRIT" from the TR text into another tongue it is GODBREATHED. Paul told Timothy he HAD the "holy scriptures" in *his tongue* not just a copy but a GODBREATHED, HOLY COPY! It says "ALL" scripture "IS" given "GODBREATHED" to ALL peoples where it's perserved. You have no "LIVING" SCRIPTURES. If they have no HOLY BREATH on them they are are dead! The Holy Spirit isTHAT GODBREATH.
@locustweed Who are you to say what I do or don't believe? You speak for yourself, and I'll speak for myself. You're being immature. You still have yet to give a text that says the reason the Bible is alive is because of some abiding "holy breath." The Bible is very clear that the truth contained in the words is the bloodline of its life. John 17:17 states, "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth." You don't use the full counsel of Scripture. This teaching permeates the whole Bible.

You, yourself said it!. I was just giving it back to you. The "holy breath" of God is THE HOLY SPIRIT. The "TRUTH" in the WORDS of GOD is JESUS CHRIST. You in effect, deny the POWER THEREOF, JESUS CHRIST, as the WORD of God. The WORD "liveth" and "abideth forever" ONLY by GOD'S SPIRIT, Jesus "LIIVED" and PREACHED by "EVERY WORD" that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. He was completely FILLED WITHOUT "MEASURE" BY THE HOLY (BREATH) SPIRIT OF GOD. John 3:34 GOD'S WORD IS THE SAME! Heb. 1:1-2
@locustweed I said no such thing. You keep telling me what I already know as if I disagree with it. I know the truths you are presenting, but you can't string random verses together to come up with a doctrine. Context must be taken into consideration. As I've said many times before, you totally have me wrong when you say things like I don't believe the holy breath is the the Holy Spirit. The Bible says the Holy Spirit inpsired the PROPHETS though. Not the Bible.
They were "MOVED" (carried along, bourne) by the SPIRIT OF GOD. They were conduits for the GOD BREATHED WORDS just as Mary was the conduit of the SPIRIT-FILLED SON OF GOD. The WORD OF GOD INCARNATE, and the WORD OF GOD IN PRINT, Both CLAIM PRE-EXISTENCE, ETERNAL LIFE AND PERFECTION, and PERPETUITY. The common denominator? THE HOLY SPIRIT! Without GOD'S SPIRIT The Lord Jesus becomes only a good man and the Bible KJV just a man made book. If you already KNOW these things you must be in denial.

@natkra90 These are not "random verses" they are ABOUT THE WORD OF GOD AND THE SON OF GOD and their inseparable oneness. ..NOT BY MIGHT NOR BY POWER BUT MY *SPIRIT* SAYETH THE LORD OF HOSTS." Zech. 4:6 There are NO random verses here unless ALL verses are "random" to you. And there are many more "random verses" to prove God's Spirit is on ALL SCRIPTURE..

Why don't YOU use "ALL" the counsel of God? "Sanctification" is a work of the HOLY SPIRIT (1Cor. 6:11) "Truth" are the WORDS OF GOD! To be sanctified through the WORD OF GOD is by the HOLY SPIRIT! I searched in the KJV high and low for "truth is a bloodline to the life of scripture". You said it "permeates the whole Bible". Where? The WORDS of GOD sanctify believers because the WORDS ARE SPIRIT-FILLED LIKE JESUS WAS!
"Inspiration" is the noun form of the verb "inspire," (in + spirare, to breath into). Shows the result Spirit's breathing into the WORDS of God. "ALL SCRIPTURE" IS GOD BREATHED. HE, God "in" +"spire" INTO the text of Scripture rather than into the men who penned the Scriptures as the SCRIPTURES is the subject and receiving what GOD BREATHED (theopneustos) into. PNEUSTOS is used as an ADJECTIVE form of "breathe" describing God's action. It is an ADJECTIVE not half of a word. Look at the ending.
@locustweed Sorry, but that's simply not the teaching. You're still leaving out the words "given by." The King James translators used those words to make sure we would not misinterpret it the way that you are. What you are saying doesn't align with the rest of Scripture. 2Pe 1:21 "For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." This is how we got the prophetical books of Scripture which means this has to align with II Tim
@natkra90 Jesus spoke alot more than just John 6. If His WORDS were "Spirit and they are LIFE" in John 6 what about John 3:16 or John 3:3? Or do you just pick and choose which verses are "spiritual" and which are not? No matter what language the preserved Word of God is translated it will also carry with it the power of inspiration. It is the WORDS that are inspired not the writers. Hebrews 4:12 states it clearly "For the word of God is *quick* (alive, LIFE) and *powerful* (ENERGIZED!)..."
@locustweed John 3? How is that relevant? If you're asking me if I believe in those verse, of coarse I do. The Bible is alive in its own right, but it's not like God spoke into the translators ears what words to write. God chose a much more dependable way to maintain the Bible. He used the tool of preservation. That way no random person can claim their translation is more accurate because theirs is "inspired". In stead, we have sound documentation of the fact we have a perfect Bible in the KJB.
Well, Jesus was SPEAKING in John 3:3 wasn't he? Weren't His WORDS just as much Spirit and Life as He said they were in John 6? I would affirm they were definitely. Explain just HOW God's Word is "alive in it's own right". What sound documentation do YOU have you have a perfect Bible? What make you think that any ramdon NIV user could not claim his book is not the preserved WORD? By claiming the KJV is perfect you are saying it is BETTER than any other translations.
@locustweed Of course they were just as much life. I still don't see your point. Anyways, if you want documentation on why we have a perfect Bible, I would suggest you read a book called God's Secretaries by Adam Nicolson. He does a great job revealing all that went into the translation, and how it was perfected. As far as the newer versions, there are contradictions galore, and they didn't even come from the correct texts so that's more than enough to say the KJB is better.
@natkra90 Well, if you have to run to a book written by a man to give you confidence you have the perfect Word of God then you are on a slippery slope. God already said He would give it to us in His WORD.. You have to know that the Majority Text had already been translated into the major European tongues BEFORE the KJV was even printed. The translators used those Bibles to compare their work. So God had already preserved his WORDS in those 16 or more languages BEFORE the English did.
@locustweed You asked for documentation. That was for your sake lol. I believed the KJV was the Word of God long before I read that book because it has transformed my life. And I do realize the Majority Text was translated before. I was talking about later translations. Why do you argue so much over things you don't know we disagree on? You could ask me first. We believe basically the same thing. Most of our disagreements are over semantics.
If it were semantics? I remember Dr. Jack Hyles over and over stating the KJV was inspired, and many others. I agree with them. As I stated before, there is no explanation for God's WORDS having power today unless His breath is STILL on it. What makes it different is that IT IS INSPIRED BY GOD. That is why He said it. 2Tim 3:16.
You can call it truth or what ever you want but the fact God said it is inspired says it all! That is what makes it the TRUTH. His Spirit (breath) accompanies it.
@locustweed You're misquoting 2Tim 3. It doesn't say it is inspired by God; It says it is GIVEN by inspiration of God. The wording is important. Also see 2Pet 1:21. Bro. Hyles has wavered on this issue. He went from correcting the book of Revelations to saying you can't get saved without the KJV to saying you can get saved with an NIV. Men will fail, but God's Word cannot. You must understand the meaning in the Scriptures on these matters. Parroting preachers won't get you anywhere.
@natkra90 I am not trying to get anywhere... if he did waver I never heard him. Yes, it was given by inspiration. That is why it *IS* profitable, for docrine for correction, for instruction in righteousness.... What makes it so TODAY? no other reason--it IS inspired. Have a good night my brother.

John 4:23

johnbfam5 6 months ago
this whole arguement is rediculous, scripturally speaking the NT CANNOT be the "Word of God", because...

@ashleytisdale344 So wut u r saying is that Mexicans, Jews, and all of the other nationalities can never have God's Word, because God's Word is only found in the King James Bible.

Anyone that looks at what he says w/o trying to preserve HA's rep can see it
jleu777 2 years ago
I was there when he preached it. I have carefully studied Bro. Schaap's position, because I am planning on going to HAC, so it's very important to me.
Bro. Schaap's illustration stated that God's promise of INSPIRATION only relates to the original languages. You're getting those two very important words mixed up. He NEVER said that preservation only relates to the original languages. That has always been his position. I've spent hours studying this because my future depends on it.
natkra90 2 years ago
Its funny how he means INSPIRATION when he SAYS GODS WORDS.
@ about 45min in the original sermon -
. "let us say to all the folks making noise: God didnt say I promise to preserve your english bible God said i promise to preserve my words."
@20:30 "did God promise to preserve... did God speak english from moses down to... you should be sitting down there John... moses to John? and God promosed to preserve his what?" His answer was not inspiration, it was his WORDS
You wanna explain that now
jleu777 2 years ago
God's preservation is just as valid for the Spanish, the Chinese, and everyone else.
natkra90 2 years ago
You've said twice now "He NEVER said that preservation only relates to the original languages."
shcapp said "God didnt say I promise to preserve your english bible God said i promise to preserve my words." To make a distinction like that he would have to believe Gods Words and our English bible are two different things. And he does, he stated repeatedly Gods words are the originals.
You've lied twice now.
jleu777 2 years ago
That statement does not mean that God didn't preserve the english Bible. What if I never said that I promise that I won't walk? Does that mean I'll never walk? You're adding to what he's saying. If you took it in the context of what he was trying to get across you would know he wasn't saying that. I already explained this.
natkra90 2 years ago
At 0:12 his 1st statment in the letter in red is "I believe the BIBLE IS the inspired word of God."
Yet he does not believe the King James Bible is the inspired Word of God.
Bible = Inspired Word of God
KJB = not inspired Word of God
Could you also explain to me why Schapp thinks the King James is not the Bible?
jleu777 2 years ago
Bible = Inspired Word of God.
KJB = Perfectly preserved translation of the Word of God; not inspired, but still is considered the Word of God.
Just like if I write a book, and someone else copies it, it's still considered my book. It just wasn't written with my pen.
natkra90 2 years ago
I didnt ask you to retype what schaap said. I said explain how The King James is NOT the Bible.
Is the Preserved Word of God as you called it, not the bible. Also, has schaap ever used the word "Bible" to refer to the king james. Thus making his statment of drawing distinction between "the Bible" and "King James" that much more ridiculous
Do you agree that if schaap says The bible is inspired, then he cant think KJ is the bible or else hed be saying the KJB is inspired?
jleu777 2 years ago
Is the bible the word of God?
If the King James isnt the Bible then what is it?
You said, "He NEVER said that preservation only relates to the original languages."
Schaap said, "God said he'd preserve his words. did God speak english to anyone... from moses to John? And God promised to preserve his What? Words and what language did God speak those in? Heb. Aram. & Grk. So if God promosed to preserve his words. Than what he preserved were those words that he gave."
jleu777 2 years ago
He said things like this for over 25min. including...
"God didnt say I promise to preserve your english bible God said i promise to preserve my words."
His whole discussion was on the promise of preservation of his words not the preservation of inspiration. God never said ill keep my inspiration preserved, he said he'd keep his words. Its clear to anyone without the agenda of not thinking HAC is wrong that schaap thinks the KJB is inferior to the originals which the opposite of KJO position
jleu777 2 years ago
It's a technicality. Technically the KJV is a perfect translation of the inspired Word of God. Again if I wrote a book, and it was translated to Chinese, technically it's not what I wrote, it's a translation of what I wrote, but it's ridiculous to say that I'm a liar if I say that I wrote this book when I'm referring to the translation. Just as it's ridiculous to call Bro. Schaap a liar because he says that the Bible is inspired when he says that the KJB technically is not.
natkra90 2 years ago
Oh so God both wrote the KJB and didnt write the KJB.... more double dalk, boy didnt see that one coming!
If your future in any way depends on schoop, your future looks bleak.
jleu777 2 years ago
God did not write the KJB; He inspired the originals, and preserved the KJ translation. You're failing to see the difference between inspiration, and preservation. Both imply 100% accuracy, but they are done through different divine methods.
natkra90 2 years ago 8
@natkra90
Were the Original Autographs inspired?
If they were(and they are), and the King James Bible is a literal word for word translation(and it is), then it to is inspired by adoption.
Not that it was originally inspired, but inherited it by faithful literal translation.

@natkra90 There are NO "originals" they are in HEAVEN. Can you read Greek and Hebrew? locustweed 9 months ago
@locustweed Bro. Schaap has many times before and many times since stated the opposite of that. If you listened to Him preach three times a week, you would know that he simply misspoke when he said, "You do not have God's preserved Words." If you asked him if he believed that in an interview he would definitely deny it.
natkra90 6 months ago
God breathed into Adams nostrils the BREATH OF LIFE. "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:"
"The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life."
According to Jesus' own WORDS, the breath of God (inspiration) is where ever HIS WORDS are quoted, spoken, copied. If HIS WORDS ARE SPIRIT AND ARE LIFE, what you are saying is false. God's breath is ALWAYS on His WORDS.
locustweed 4 months ago
@locustweed You're grossly taking John 6:63 out of context. He wasn't talking about any written text. He was talking about the Words He was speaking, and if you apply your idea of inspiration to Genesis 3, you get a very warped idea. If you take your logic to its end, you'd have to conclude that every word that anyone speaks is inspired by God because Adam was inspired by God. That's just foolish.
natkra90 4 months ago
Jesus Christ is the WORD John 1:1. The WORD was GOD. Yes, your idea is foolish and shows a wild imagination. and No, that is your logic, not mine. Let me reel you in back to earth. All of God's WORDS today are COPIES. Jesus and his disciples read and quoted COPIES of the Old Testament. When Paul wrote his epistles they were COPIES of what God had already settled in Heaven. (Psa. 119:89) There are no "originals" but in Heaven. Since Jesus is God and perfect there must be a "perfect" Bible.
locustweed 4 months ago
@locustweed Of coarse He's the Word, but Jesus said in John 6:63 "The words that I SPEAK." He was referring to the spoken Word. This is why the Bible says it is GIVEN by inspiration. It doesn't say it is a continuous inspiration just as we don't believe every man is inspired by God because Adam was originally inspired. God did not inspire the King James Bible translators. If He did, then the translators wouldn't have called for revision to their own translation. God doesn't make mistakes.
natkra90 4 months ago
@natkra90 Every word that Jesus spoke IS the WORD OF GOD, because HE is God. How else can God transmit His BREATHED WORD except by GIVING IT?! It continues to carry the same power of LIFE and ENERGY according to Hebrews 4:12. Otherwise, why read it? Why memorize it? Why quote it? It has power, THAT'S WHY. By the way, Adam was NOT inspired by God he was created and GOD BREATHED LIFE into him. I never said KJV translators were "inspired" but the WORDS were! The printers made the mistakes LOL!
locustweed 4 months ago
@locustweed No one here is saying the Bible doesn't have power and life. I think your understanding of the word inspiration is different. When the Bible says, all Scripture is given by inspiration of God, it literally means God breathed the words to the writers. All Bro. Schaap was pointing out is that God didn't breath the words into the KJV translators. So, you're making a big fuss over nothing if you agree with that.
natkra90 4 months ago
@natkra90 IT CANNOT HAVE POWER AND LIFE unless it continues to have God's breath on it. It is no different than any piece of literature. The reason it has power is BECAUSE IT IS INSPIRED BY GOD! There is no other explanation you can give that makes IT no better than any other literature.
locustweed 4 months ago
@locustweed The power and life is found in the truth it contains specifically of the Gospel. As Paul said, "it [the Gospel] is the power of God unto salvation." You get eternal life not by just believing the words are true, but that its message is true. This is why the Word is alive, power, dividing, and miraculous. It contains the Gospel in its purest most complete form. Every jot and title ultimately points to this message. Without the Gospel, the Bible is without cause.
natkra90 4 months ago
There is no disputing the Gospel is the power of God unto SALVATION. The only possible way TRUTH has power is because it is GOD BREATHED TRUTH. There is truth in mathematics and some science, even baking bread but it is not GOD BREATHED. All truth is equal unless there is GOD behind it to make it THE TRUTH.
locustweed 4 months ago
@locustweed No. What makes the truth special is the Gospel. It is full of life and power because the Gospel is full of life and power. I'm not talking mathematics; I'm talking about the fact that Jesus died for our sins and rose again. That's where the power and life comes from. Without the Gospel, the Holy Ghost wouldn't of had anything worth breathing about to the original authors. The Holy Spirit's very power to quicken the elect comes from the power to raise Jesus from the dead.
natkra90 4 months ago
@natkra90 That is so good what you are saying, however you are missing the point; without God BREATHING it the Gospel just becomes another story of literature. The Power of the Gospel is because the "Spirit" (breath) of God quickens it and pierces men's hearts. Without the SPIRIT ("breath,") dare I say "inspiration"? Same word! I do not see why you do not see the connection.
locustweed 4 months ago
@locustweed Ok well there's your problem right there. John 3 uses a different Greek word for breath than is used in II Tim. 3. They are not the same word. The word pnuema is used in John 3. The word pnuestos is half the word for the phrase inspiration of God. Every other time this Greek word is translated to wind in the KJV. There's never a reference to any special power related to this word. The word pnuema is used in reference to the Holy Spirit many times, but it is not found in II Tim 3:16.
natkra90 4 months ago

Fluently?
locustweed 4 months ago
@locustweed I miss him too very much.
I don't speak Greek fluently. What I do is look up how a certain Greek word is translated in the KJV to get an understanding of the Word. I use the Bible to define the Bible in this way. Pnuema is the word for breath and Spirit for the most part. Pnuestos is only used seven times by itself, and all seven times it is in relation to wind.
natkra90 4 months ago
The actual word, θεόπνευστος or "theopneustos" is a combination of 2 Greek words. The phrase “given by inspiration of God,” is *one* word in the Greek text. So your so-called distinction does not exist here. It simply means "theo"=GOD + "pneustos"= wind, breath, spirit. The fact it was "GIVEN" is not even supported by the use of the word except the translators noted "is" as an understood present tense action of GOD BREATHED! This is interesting because of VERSE 15-- check it out!
locustweed 4 months ago
@locustweed I said pneustos is half of the word for the phrase. I figured you would know the other half was for God. There is a distinction. There is a reason it was translated to given by inspiration. If it is a mistake and it's inspired, then God made a mistake so you contradict yourself there. It is given by God's breathe, but it's not the same idea that is presented in John 3. It's the same idea as II Peter 1:21.
natkra90 4 months ago
You are NOT LISTENING. The present tense "is" is understood since "given" is not in the Greek Word it would refer to the context found in verse15 ."And that from a child thou hast know the HOLY SCRIPTURES, which ARE able to make thee wise unto salvation which is in Jesus Christ." Notice it is "the holy scriptures". Paul is refering to Timothy's COPIES he had. They are the ones present tense "ARE" that Timothy still had which Paul states ALL IS "GODBREATHED". There is NO mistake!
locustweed 4 months ago
@locustweed I understand. The Bible is still the book that was given by inspiration. That's like saying that a book is still the book that was written by a certain author. That doesn't really prove anything though. It certainly doesn't mean that God is still giving more Scripture.
natkra90 4 months ago
That is why your understanding of the WORD OF GOD is skewed. You look at it just as if it were ANY OTHER book written by men. Shame on you! IT IS GOD BREATHED and it "LIVETH" and "ENDURETH FOREVER." When it is properly COPIED into another tongue it "LIVETH" and "ENDURETH FOREVER". All of the European translations of the Antiochian texts IS the WORD OF GOD which "LIVETH" and "ENDURETH FOREVER". Timothy"s COPY is called the "holy scriptures" IT IS GODBREATHED and "LIVETH AND ENDURETH FOREVER"!
locustweed 4 months ago
@locustweed I do not, and shame on you for fulfilling Satan's role in accusing the brethren. I believe as much as you do that the KJB is the living Word of God. Not only do I believe it is the Word of God, I TAKE IT LITERALLY. I don't have to twist what it says to defend it as if it can't fend for itself. I have 100% confidence in what it says. I don't have to have any preacher make up stuff to affirm my beliefs. Don't attack me over your shallow thinking.
natkra90 4 months ago

Heb. 1:1-2
locustweed 4 months ago

Where? The WORDS of GOD sanctify believers because the WORDS ARE SPIRIT-FILLED LIKE JESUS WAS!
locustweed 4 months ago
Look at the ending.
locustweed 4 months ago
@locustweed Sorry, but that's simply not the teaching. You're still leaving out the words "given by." The King James translators used those words to make sure we would not misinterpret it the way that you are. What you are saying doesn't align with the rest of Scripture. 2Pe 1:21 "For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." This is how we got the prophetical books of Scripture which means this has to align with II Tim
natkra90 4 months ago
@natkra90 Jesus spoke alot more than just John 6. If His WORDS were "Spirit and they are LIFE" in John 6 what about John 3:16 or John 3:3? Or do you just pick and choose which verses are "spiritual" and which are not? No matter what language the preserved Word of God is translated it will also carry with it the power of inspiration. It is the WORDS that are inspired not the writers. Hebrews 4:12 states it clearly "For the word of God is *quick* (alive, LIFE) and *powerful* (ENERGIZED!)..."
locustweed 4 months ago
@locustweed John 3? How is that relevant? If you're asking me if I believe in those verse, of coarse I do. The Bible is alive in its own right, but it's not like God spoke into the translators ears what words to write. God chose a much more dependable way to maintain the Bible. He used the tool of preservation. That way no random person can claim their translation is more accurate because theirs is "inspired". In stead, we have sound documentation of the fact we have a perfect Bible in the KJB.
natkra90 4 months ago
Well, Jesus was SPEAKING in John 3:3 wasn't he? Weren't His WORDS just as much Spirit and Life as He said they were in John 6? I would affirm they were definitely. Explain just HOW God's Word is "alive in it's own right". What sound documentation do YOU have you have a perfect Bible? What make you think that any ramdon NIV user could not claim his book is not the preserved WORD? By claiming the KJV is perfect you are saying it is BETTER than any other translations.
locustweed 4 months ago
@locustweed Of course they were just as much life. I still don't see your point. Anyways, if you want documentation on why we have a perfect Bible, I would suggest you read a book called God's Secretaries by Adam Nicolson. He does a great job revealing all that went into the translation, and how it was perfected. As far as the newer versions, there are contradictions galore, and they didn't even come from the correct texts so that's more than enough to say the KJB is better.
natkra90 4 months ago
@natkra90 Well, if you have to run to a book written by a man to give you confidence you have the perfect Word of God then you are on a slippery slope. God already said He would give it to us in His WORD.. You have to know that the Majority Text had already been translated into the major European tongues BEFORE the KJV was even printed. The translators used those Bibles to compare their work. So God had already preserved his WORDS in those 16 or more languages BEFORE the English did.
locustweed 4 months ago
@locustweed You asked for documentation. That was for your sake lol. I believed the KJV was the Word of God long before I read that book because it has transformed my life. And I do realize the Majority Text was translated before. I was talking about later translations. Why do you argue so much over things you don't know we disagree on? You could ask me first. We believe basically the same thing. Most of our disagreements are over semantics.
natkra90 4 months ago
If it were semantics? I remember Dr. Jack Hyles over and over stating the KJV was inspired, and many others. I agree with them. As I stated before, there is no explanation for God's WORDS having power today unless His breath is STILL on it. What makes it different is that IT IS INSPIRED BY GOD. That is why He said it. 2Tim 3:16.
You can call it truth or what ever you want but the fact God said it is inspired says it all! That is what makes it the TRUTH. His Spirit (breath) accompanies it.
locustweed 4 months ago
@locustweed You're misquoting 2Tim 3. It doesn't say it is inspired by God; It says it is GIVEN by inspiration of God. The wording is important. Also see 2Pet 1:21. Bro. Hyles has wavered on this issue. He went from correcting the book of Revelations to saying you can't get saved without the KJV to saying you can get saved with an NIV. Men will fail, but God's Word cannot. You must understand the meaning in the Scriptures on these matters. Parroting preachers won't get you anywhere.
natkra90 4 months ago
@natkra90 I am not trying to get anywhere... if he did waver I never heard him. Yes, it was given by inspiration. That is why it *IS* profitable, for docrine for correction, for instruction in righteousness.... What makes it so TODAY? no other reason--it IS inspired. Have a good night my brother.
