If your car has that SI-drive system and your rev it in I -intelligent, it wouldn't get over 4500. Try Sport, or even better- Sport Sharp- gets to 7000 much quicker.
Sounds good. And the rev limiter is where it is at because its common on some cars to have a lower rev limiter when the car is it park. Ex: my buddys sebring rev limiter is 4500 in park but 5500ish when in gear flooring it. I have a outback as well but its a 2.5 xt gonna love that boxer sound 4 cyl or 6 they both sound great
the rev limiter is often lower when you just start a subaru - the engine's not warmed up yet, so to protect it, it won't free rev as high as it would after it's warmed up a little over time. i drive a 2007 Legacy 2.5i
@alberto200686 all the new EZ30 H6 Subaru engines are equipped with a rev limiter. even if the engine is warmed up, the rev won't go higher than 4500. also the rev limiter is in action on those equipped with si drive system. i drive a 2008 legacy h6 and the only way i can go beyond that limit is to drive more than 20 kph and switching the transmission to the neutral. then it rocks to the 7000+ rpm.
sounds mean! love it
