Room 1D theres a terminal starts a quest i think called the velvet curtain. Near the end you can go into a room with a unique lever action rifle but don't activate the terminal in that room or you will be trapped unless you have a 71 science skill.

Or atleast a supermutant swam there... I've gone over that entire area and never found a reason for all the blood and such... You should try finding the quest again... You get the unigue lever-action rifle which is about as strong as the repeater and uses the third or forth most common ammo ever... (Thank god...) lol.
