@lambielkwanfan I agree. Tonya's performance was better then Nancy's that year. She landed the triple lutz and triple doubled her combination. Nancy's mistakes over shadowed her artistry. Let's be real, Nancy Kerrigan was never the best skater, she had two strong performances at 94 Olympics but never really wowed people prior to that. Tonya was an amazing athlete, but her marriage to that scumbag interfered with her skating. It would have been fair to give her the bronze that year.

i seen her skate this one previously and it was AMAZING! She landed a perfect triple axel, I preferred her skating over all the others .It was a shame that that kerrigan incident happened She had no confidence in herself>>what could have been!!!

Remember, Tonya admitted that she hadn't trained properly for this olympics, which is truly inexcusable... hello, its the OLYMPICS. I give more credit to those who worked their butts off and had bad nights. Tonya just clearly wasn't conditioned. Further, her artistry is NO match for most of the other skaters, with the exception of Surya, who, poor thing, could jump but just could not skate. And I actually am a fan of Tonya's.

I really liked her too. Don't remember what first made her stand out to me -- I was 8 in '92. But she was my favorite. She dropped the ball after Skate America, where she skated great. Only got worse at Worlds. So disappointing. Still, most skaters would be thrilled with a performance like this. It just wasn't up to HER standards.

@mlc2005 Artistically she isnt as strong as Yamaguchi, Ito, or Kerrigan, so she cant afford to be out of shape and unable to land her big jumps.  If she isnt she wont medal.

I find these commentators to be much more precise and accurate and thoughtful in their assessments of the skaters than the American commentators.IMO.

Thanks for putting up this version with the different commentary. Finally in the end the guy gives her credit for the several triples she did well. This was not a bad performance.

Technically stronger than Nancy's program, I agree. But since Nancy had been in 2nd after the short and Tonya in

6th, the final placements were fair, I think.

Tonya should have atleast beaten Nancy in the free program portion even if she didnt overall. Anyway for the record Lu, Tonya, maybe Surya, Karen, and Yuka all should have beaten Nancy in the free program portion, and probably Tonya passing her overall.
