  • Doesn't everyone love ELO?

  • 240p, we meet again.. It's a shame that your 3rd cousin couldn't help such an amazing song as this.

  • I Love ELO, so many timeless songs take me back. Great Group !!!!!!

  • esta genial

  • Oui mes amies, dans melodie est grande magnifique. Bon chance les ELO FORMIDABLES

  • I forgot that I had clicked on this song before minimizing the screen. When the song started, I thought I was having a psychedelic flashback for a second.

  • @hixidom "forgot I had clicked on this before minimizing .. When song started thought I was having a psychedelic flashback"

ROFLMAO! Doncha just hate when that happens?

  • Thanks for posting this. I'm going through a bad time right now..... but Jeff Lynne & Co. can always lift me up.

  • The things we did were all for real, not a dream and they've all faded out of view...(Sighs)

  • I'm 17. where can I download the 70s?

  • I was born in the wrong place and the wrong decade. California in the early 90s should have been England in the late 50s. ELO, Queen, The Who, Elton John, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, they all make up well over half of my favorite music. AND I would have been around to see some epic racing.

  • Like if you found this from watching Billy Madison!

  • Just TEXT the Biotch...If that doesnt work...Email or look her up on Facebook.

  • SOPA Let the Phone Ring For F*** Sake

  • @cashi311 ACTA, give me some time.

  • "So Fine" Great song

  • After a long hard work day, i stumbled into this song. its been in my head ever since.

  • Skrillex, remix?

  • they are the best band of the 70s hands down

  • @davidjensen12726 there are alot of bands that were great out of the 70s, I cant just say one band over all is the best, you forgot Pink Floyd, the Who, Led Zeppelin, Yes, Rush , the CARS who made a big splash in 1978 with their debut album and Candyo. You forgot the Police, Foreigner, the Doors , Queen. But dont get me wrong, I love ELO. Im just gonna say I love the 70s.

  • music is based on opinion all music since the dawn of time has been good in someones opinion never hate on any kind of music because it all takes time and skill, except for mainstream rap lol

  • Pick up the damn phone, beetch!

  • 5 people simply dont like ELO

  • BEAUTIFUL.......AWESOME ....FELLING IT.

    XOXOXOXOXOXOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOXXXXOXOXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

  • For real, not a dream.

  • 5 persons don't have life... ELO Rules !

  • everytime i look at jeff lynn i get to shedd some tears,, man i miss being a little kidd listening

to E.L.O. in the livingroom in the bronx NY 1970's,,, still nothing compares to E.L.O..!!!!

  • @numberninedreams I think George Harrison said that.

  • best scene in billy madison or possibly.. EVER!

  • Steve Buscemi putting on lipstick and hanging up the phone 1:37. Erasing Billy Madison's name from the "People to Kill" list. Classic. would have been stupid without this song.

  • Best song in the world :D

  • @bbhrupp

    Best band in the world

  • @eeliejaz so true :D

  • Just look up and a call above ~

  • this song is beautiful...

  • Look at all the ELO videos this guy has posted. Subscription and friend request.

  • crosses billy madison off "To Kill List."

  • This song is my ringtone and it has been for about 2 years now. This was the first ELO song I ever heard, courtesy of my dad.

  • This is the second time this band has thrown me for a loop. For years I thought that "Hold On Tight" was John Lennon. And when I heard this one, I was certain that The Bee Gees had teamed up with a solo singer. I'm still not convinced that Barry, Robin and Maurice didn't sneak into the studio during the chorus.

  • HErd this jam in spanish and its still good. bests songs no matter what language theyer in

  • Comment removed

  • when music was music.

  • @greg4161 Um... What is it now?

  • @0x00101F it's annoying noise

  • Reminds me of my parents who are gone now. What I would give if they could just pick up the telephone one more time... :(

  • @misttan touching put atear in my eye thanks all my heart to you

  • 1:43-2:01 is MY FAV!!! Part is Soo Relaxing and Just a Overall Classic Song..!

  • i want to lose my virginity to this song

  • One word...

    Exactly. =/

  • ELO were one of the best bands ever to come out at the time and I love them heaps!!! Music now days just does not really comptete. There are alot of bands that came out in this era and please if anyone asked me which was my favourite I would not like to say. My kids really love the music I listen to and they are now in their early 20's so keep listening guys and girls.!!!.

  • @MsLioness010 Well, as much as I have found a new affinity for ELO having never known where these songs I've heard on countless occasions have originated from and having always loved them, I can in fact say I have been a fan of ELO for quite some time. I'm partial to heavy metal, I love Pantera and Hatebreed... But even a metal-head needs to sit back and relax to something that inspires something other than hatred. You know, I love the Beatles, I love Pink Floyd... and without a doubt I love ELO

  • I thank my dad truly to introducing me to them. Anytime I hear this band it will forever remind me of my father, and how much he truly means to me.

  • @bittersweettragedy1 same. my dad was my only family for so long and ELO was the first record he bought

They're music is powerful and magic

  • this song is tight i like the lil beat thang goin when the phone starts ringing but the blue days black nightspart seems like somebody died overdosed on herion jamin 2 this song. on the phone calling 911 or some shit. badass song gonna roll up 2 da college jamin this song with 2 12's n a bull horn lol

  • Oh! (Ohh!) Telephone Liiiineee. Incredible.

  • @MrGreglander I couldn't agree more :)

  • Billy Madison brought me here.

  • I dont how old are the people who reminds their chilhood, im just 17 but my dad always listened this song and some others but i dont know why i just love this one! my native language is spanish but like a magical way i learned this song at the same time i was learning to say mama or papa LOveit!

  • Yes, "lovelorn" is right on.

  • this reminds me of my childhood. everynight when my cooked dinner, she always had this song playing. we always danced around the kitchen singing and giggeling to this song ..... felt just like yesterday ..... <3 Love You Mom <3

  • Dig The Mission of the Sacred Heart, my novel based on this album. Available on Amazon. Lots of secret messages for ELO fans!

  • hahaha.. well stalkers back then had to carry binocculars and ladders... they didnt have the tech. advantage of stalkers today...

  • I still have the green 45 of this song. I love it, it is my favorite.

  • Remember hearing this song while my wife and I were honeymooniing in Atlantic City the year before the Casinos ruined the place, when there was a great northeast coast style "boardwalk" ... Such a loss ....

  • I love this band, all of their songs are beautiful & timeless...

  • Three people had restraining orders placed against them...

  • Thumbs up if you only know of this song cause of Billy Madison

  • @frenzuh1

    Fail.

  • Every Sunday lunch my friend Martin and I would drive down to the pub and play this song to death in the 70's....fortunately the pub klandlady was as big a fan as we were...

  • *sigh* I've been listening to this song a lot lately. If you would just reply, I would be fine...

  • So horny..

  • This really is a beautiful song. ELO is quite underrated. They're known for their quirky, fun songs, but honestly Jeff Lynne is not only an excellent Vocalist, but an excellent producer and songwriter as well.

  • *Puts on lipstick*

  • @HornedWarMachine BILLY MADISON!

  • Fuck yeah!

  • Sounds as good today (if not better) than it did nearly 35 years ago. It is so easy to see why musicians like this are still so very popular today.

  • @JamesBondsBoss Time sure flew, didn't it... :o 0

  • This song brings tears to my eyes just like yesteryear! Love this song!

  • I remember this number. sad times when I was a kid in the early 70's

  • My dad used to play this all the time.

  • @alternitivepat dude same here. this is his favorite ELO song

  • would love to see them with paul mccartney and wings..that would be cool

  • A musical masterpeice!

  • This song makes me think of my childhood... my parents were big ELO fans, and they would come home from work on a Friday and pour a glass of wine and chill in the living room listening to this and chatting while my brother and I played Lego on the carpet. My father's dead now, the house long sold. I wish a telephone line could transcend time.

  • @Greggo2 you would need a TARDIS for that

  • As John Lennon would say.. If you want to hear the beatles.. Simply listen to ELO

  • @numberninedreams But ELO is better!

  • @numberninedreams ELO pwns the Beatles.

  • @ValreeShoe

    You misspelt the word "owns".

    ;p

  • @SinnFein4ever mispelt? heh :-D It's all good.

  • @SinnFein4ever lol pwned means "professionally owned"

  • Elo does not own the the fucking Beatles you square.

  • Awesome melody, vocals, and meaning. "Telephone line, give me some time, I'm living in twilight!"

  • it sure has nice music in this song

  • I cannot listen to this song and not think of the scene from Billy Madison where Steve Buschemi puts the lipstick on and crosses Billy off of his "People to Kill" list ROFL X-D

  • @Caseymb2 So, that's where I remember this song from.

  • this was playing in hmv the other week, and some pathetic little 15 year old prick turned to his mate and said: 'theyved copied this from green days 21 guns'..i felt like pummelling the cunt, excuse my french.

  • Electric Light Orchestra would me more likely to write a song called "Power Line."

  • he made the song sounds like telephone does.Call the girl cause he lonlie missing her.

  • Fav Part in Song 1:45 To 2:13

    "Blue Days

Black Nights" yes i like that

  • I heard this song in Spanish! LOL

  • Hold on Tight To Your Dreams, Thunder & Lightning~

  • This is magic

  • love this song

  • I love this song!!!!!!!!!

  • "man i'm glad i called that guy" - billy madison

  • @RustleXer "Man I'm glad you posted this on my wall so I listened to it again" - Thomo

  • i cant hear this song without thinking of lipstick

  • Oh oh Telephone Line, give me some time, I'm living in twilight :(

  • Amazing song - let it ring for evermore. I say, let it be heard for evermore.

    Greets :)

  • This song always makes me cry...

and makes me think on how many hours of my life have been spent sitting, listening to the ring, and wondering if they'll pick up...

  • @redwolfmoonhowl Wow! you sure helped me to remember waiting too. I am past crying now, but I get a lump in my throat even today at 65 y.o. So sad, really, all the missed opportunities, and all the wasted time, waiting and waiting for that cursed phone to ring. You're in my book of the good guys now. Peace.

  • steve bushemi+lipstick+this song= epic FTW!!

  • God I wish that i lived back in the 60s and 70s and had this be the new music to listen to. I was born in 85, but grew up listening to all the great classic hits from the 60s, 70's and 80's. I love it all and I can say that Im a better youngen for listening to these hits.

  • Brings back sum awesome memories!

  • Chorus sounds a bit like "All the Young Dudes" :S

  • Dude, these are fine, your bringing back some fantastic memories. keep up the good work!

  • hello , is this danny mcgraph ? lmao !!

  • @lougunny People To Kill: Billy Madison=------------

  • I was introduced to this song in the movie "Billy Madison" For everyone who knows that part, you know what I mean, LOL!

  • Brings back some good and bad memories was in love with a girl that was diagnosed with cancer and this was our song

  • Eluchspore, some of us came to wisdom earlier on in age. (grins to self). Have loved ELO for decades now. Thank your town fathers. These guys were and remain a source of joy.

  • sounds like 21 guns

  • @videogamefreak333

You mean "21 Guns" sounds like this... I love Green Day, too.

  • @videogamefreak333

    I THOUGHT THAT TOOOO!

I'm glad to find someone who agrees! haha

    Telephone guns!

  • @videogamefreak333 more like 21 guns sounds like this. lol.

  • My only comment is "what a fine job you are doing Sir" sweet memories of that great summer of 77 the weather could not match 76 but the music was far better.

  • i love this songs brings back alot of memories

  • My favorite E.L.O. song is "Hold On Tight." But this one isn't far behind!

  • A few of their songs mention calling someone and are always very good!

  • This is one of my favorite songs, it is truly great

  • i live in birmingham... and as i was growing up... i thought Jeff and the boys were a bit boring. and with age comes wisdom...top tune.

  • @Eluchopsore I'm with you on that. This classic stands the test of time.....well said---top tune.

  • i wish i could go back in time =( and listen to this song when i was 17

  • thanks ................

  • best fucking song there is

  • I love older music. Jeff's voice is hauntingly beautiful.

  • i really like this song, coz it reminds me of my childhood. But now when i listen to it, the lyrics are meaningful but......he seems a bit stalkerish staying on the phone through the night listening to it ring. :s

    Still great song though! :D

  • 'stalking' was an acceptable practice in the past. Check out the Police "Every breath you take", Brian Adams "Wherever you go"

  • I get that, most 90's Brit pop I don't actually like but I'm drawn to it because of the memories.

  • @pp3k07

  • @thebigsellout yes?

  • @pp3k07 I really like this song too! But I hope I can persuade you for the sake of ALL passion in song that--serious as it can be--much of what we now wonder is "stalkerish" behaviour, we used to call "lovelorn". Don't let Political Correctness ruin everything for you! Well, at least not this song. I related to it at 8 years old or so because it's really just about loss, and depicts a suspension in the moment of loss, via the ringing phone image, that is universal.

  • billy madison lol

  • Comment removed

  • i love music like this, and Rap itself is NOT music, because RAP is cRAP!

I'd like to see this song in rock band though.

  • thumbs up my son

  • wtf i gave links thumbs up and got thumbs down!!? is it cos i wasnt complimenting song cos its great btw

  • @LinkVsRoxas

    You're an idiot.

  • I love this song!

  • the first time I heard this song, I was CERTAIN in my mind that it was a Wings song, because Jeff Lynne sounds JUST like paul mccartney, both in voice and songwriting.

Funny, because the first time I heard "Mr. Blue Sky," I was certain in the same way that it was a john lennon solo song. So many bands are influenced by the Beatles, but ELO does the best in sounding just like them.

  • what many people don't know about this song is Jeff did almost all those harmony parts at 1:47. I love this song, along with every single one of ELO's Tunes. ELO FOREVER!!!!

  • great song, love the harmony.

  • the shadows offf the night! let it ring forever more!!!

  • Brilliant

  • elo has beautiful harmony, and this song is one of the best

  • @510tisha I saw them when int 10th grade and I am now 50 hehheheh

  • @beamdude61 lucky !!!!!

  • beautiful and imaginitive ! among the best of the post Beatles era

  • Love this song, thanks for posting.

  • I've logged onto my account to listen to songs on YouTube about every other day, and this is one of the songs I choose almost every single time. Thought I'd tell ya. Thanks a lot for uploading.
