bensisko16;eyes are MOST important part of the picture(in my oppintion)because when you talk/look at the person you always see the eyes which are mirrors to persons soul(speaking poeticly).i remember drawing a person from the side and i drew everything exept the eyes and at that moment it LOOKED like the person i was drawing but then i filled in the eyes an screwed up the hole thing because it was incorrect in it was in cofined space so rubing it out was too much of a hassel.hope that ans your Q

What pencils or instruments do you use? I can always get the details right, but when it comes to shading, I find it hard to get a consistent tone, especially when just doing flat black areas in pencil.

Really really good. I'm facinated as I watch this drawing come to life and it's so accurate, it really looks like the person but with a nice artistic slant on it. I'm wondering why the eyes are always drawn last, I tend to draw the eyes first to grasp the likeness. Maybe such skill comes with time.
