Some may disagree but this is truly a Roger Waters solo album that happens to have Gilmour on guitar and some vocals and Mason playing drums on all but Two Suns In The Sunset. Dave's solo torches big time on this song.
The final lyrics in Italian, Greek and French: "Scusi, dov'è il bar? Se parakalo, pou ine to bar? S’il vous plaît, οù est le bar?" It means the same thing in these languages: Please, where is the bar?
While waters us a prolific writer, this album was mostly stuff that could not make it onto the Wall album, and huge ego also got in the way, what a shame that is still to this day.
Still a pink floyd album nonetheless, not that bad considering the state of the bands relationship at that point.
I'll probably never understand why this album was so unpopular and underrated.
Was it because there was no promotional tour? Or was it because Pink Floyd was more or less falling apart when this album was released? Was the subject matter to difficult for most people? Did they even understand the connections between The Final Cut and The wall?
Like I said I'll never understand it; I think The Final Cut is one of Floyd's finest albums...
@hopethehermit Better than Dark Side? I disagree. And rated best? Personaliy I lean towards Animals, but hey, thats just me. Final Cut IS highly under-rated, I agree. I nearly wore out the vynyl when it first came out.. A great album, but not their best.
Bingeaux! Gooks and little niggers arguing and yelling on my soil. Get your Obamanations out of my KIND, GENEROUS-TYPOePEOPLE, YOU LOUD MOUTH ASSHOLES! GO BACK TO YOUR PATHETIC HOMELANDS AND LEAVE ME ALONE! Dear Little Kenyan born delusional entitlement one, tell Yoda the Toy'odelay Uhura's lame ass out of the Nickle-and-Dime bidnezz. We didn't take you idiots into our country to yell and sceam FUCKALLTHAT jibberish at each other. Glory, Glory Aggrivation, Gotta Compete With The Wily Japanese!
@k0stil I'm sure he meant the playing. But on a related note, it just wouldn't be like Roger Waters to claim a sole songwriting credit even if he didn't write it by himself...(that made me laugh).
@add2718 Great solo. Can't agree with the best of Gilmour remark though. He's had so many brilliant solos in Floyd that ,while this is up there, he's had better. Comfortably Numb is flawless and I could go on and on listing solos that I think are better but, I think it's enough to say that David has contributed a large catelog of incredibly magical moments to the history of recorded music.
Yeah, the last album for Pink's classic line-up did not go gently into that good night, that's for sure. Great song, excellent visuals. Loved the photo of Waters spray painting on what must've been the Berlin Wall, back when it was still standing.

I mean the song's Rogers'. Dave sings the rock verses while Roger sings the mild verses and cries the parlato verses.

@add2718 hi. gilmour does three other solo's on that album, which are rather short, but just as great.

@add2718 you also got to here the sax solo in "the gunners dream" off the same album. always nice to find another fan of gilmour. thanks
