Today this movie today would have lots of gory closeups and made in 3-D so audiences could see the monster in thier faces.... The best time for horror movies and chillers in my openion was the late mid to late 70s and early to mide 80s.. The rest has been neddless violence and cheap remakes of classics..
the people in this video were never conpensated or paid for doing this movie as promised.they were used and lied to by Charles Pierce and crew.they never got permission to use Travis Crabtrees name in the song either.they made big bucks on this movie and never gave the good people of Fouke a dime.for the true story behind this, read his book 'Smokey and the Fouke Monster'.its a good book and it helps good old Smokey Crabtree get back a little money he so rightfully deserves!
Rated G. Really cause i remember my dad taking us to see this shit at the drive in. And it fucked me up. So much so that here in 2011 I'm still thinking about it.
Brilliant movie, scared the bejesus out of me when I saw it aged about 8. We went camping with the scouts soon after and I was bricking it. Go 42nd Dublin!
im positive that creature was charlie sheen 2011 transported back into time and that sound emitted was him once he peaked his rush and high with cocaine and also oragseming on over 4 heroin strung out huge fake boobed prostitutes (i mean c'mon y'all didn't hear a bit of prostitute in that sound bit)
The greatest rated G HORROR film of all time! Oh their is also Walt Disney's SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES. I own reGOREgitated sacrifice & MORDUM so it's nice to have a little G horror mixed with the EXTREME!
Im going to Fouke AR next week, not to see bigfoot but just because Ive never been there and after living in the state I have to get down there just to see where the myth came from.
As a 9 y/o kid, the trailer shown on TV scared the crap out of me! for years you couldn't get me near a wooded area. It's actually the scream of the monster that horrified me. The sounds more than any visual terrified me and my 6 y/o brother. My, how growing older makes one laugh at boyhood fears! Thanks for posting this now amusing and incredibly lame monster movie trailer from so long ago.
@wolfpredatorzilla Well, when I was young I went coon hunting with my grand father through, Wv, Va and Kentucky mountains in pitch black, with just a mining light to see where I was stepping. I heard that kinda stuff all the time, but it was real life and not a horror movie. :P
HEY EVERYONE! JUST WATCH THE LAST 16 MINUTES OR SO. THAT'S THE ONLY INTERESTING PART OF THE MOVIE, AND IT IS MORE OF A DOCUMENTARY THAN A MONSTER FLICK.
I give this movie an f for failure, and the trailer an f for false advertising!
this scared me so bad when i was like 4 or 3 but now im older i dont get scared easliy i watch scary movies all the time my friends ask why i dont get scared all the time
I'm from Fouke, and Boggy Creek is actually behind my house. This is a legend, not a true story. Mostly to keep African Americans out of the town. My grandmothers Maid of Honor had reported seeing the Fouke Monster (the minor scene of the movie when the couple is driving down the road and sees the creature). But over all, Its a legend. Although it is fun to take your picture with him at the Monster Mart! :P
Movies like this were rated G because back then, the MPAA wasn't as strict as they are today. Many films that were rated G thirty, fourty, or fifty years ago would probably be rated PG-13 or maybe R with today's standards. G films back then could get away with adult thematic content, sensuality (even minor nudity), and some language. Those days are long gone.
Omg when I heard that sound it scared me so bad, I was thinking to myself what is it?!?! I wonder if people ever did find out what it was, that is such a scary sound
For the people wondering why this movie was rated G. Plain and simple...movies were much more lenient on violence and language back then. The rating system wasn't that prominent until 1968 when the R rating was created. Of course it took alot to achieve such a rating. It wasn't a big deal and the movies were a blast...
I wanted to got to Arkansas and check it out. Has anyone gone to that area? Trivia Q: What Clint Eastwood movie would the guy who made this movie go on to write the screenplay for?
@JoeyFudd My uncle use to live in Fouke Arkansas. It's a creepy place, I camped in his back yard and got creeped the fuck out so I basically went back inside :)
@trevorhirby That's interesting. This is what I like about the Internet. Never thought I'd hear about Boggy Creek again much less hear from someone with an uncle he visited there. Regarding the trivia Q: Charles B. Pierce wrote the screenplay for "Sudden Impact." They say Boggy Creek inspired "The Blair Witch Project."
@JoeyFudd Yes but he's in Kuwait doing his second tour with the Navy right now and I'm getting ready to leave for my first tour to afghanistan in the army so staying the weekend with him is kind of impossible anymore lol
I was in first grade the first time I saw this movie and we lived out in the middle of nowhere! I wet the bed on purpose because I was too afraid to go to the bathroom at night. And omg, the windows were a definite no-no after sundown. terrified me to even think about the credits! next to Bambi, this too scarred me for life on the opposite end of the spectrum.
By the way the hairy hand reaching into the bathroom looked like it belonged to someone that was reaching up to get to the window. For that matter I think that it looked more like Alf's hand than bigfoot.
@BobSTK Does bigfoot use toilet paper????????? I doubt it, but then again again by the looks of the inbred rednecks in the movie, I doubt that they use toilet paper either ;-0 Who knows?????????
I remember seeing this movie at the movie house in 1972. I only paid 10cents for admission. LOL People thought this was really a true story. But it was a fictional story.
@Manongjojo Monsterquest recently did a show about the swap monster not too long ago and they had some journalists who lived in the area and claimed what happened at the house towards the end actually happened. Of course we are dealing with movie making so take what you will but with a grain of salt.
When this came out I was living in Plant City FL. I was 9 years old when I went to see this. At the end of the movie the theater had a some one in a monster suit run into the theater screaming and chasing every one out.
If that was today a lawsuit would be sure to follow but that was the 70s, lol
You guys believe in bigfoot? Then that explains why you think Global Warming is a hoax: evidence doesn't matter & you will believe anything. How sad.
There's no hairy monster & even if there were, so what. This is just a distraction to get you to ignore your problems & focus on nonsense. Why are there no jobs? Why no pensions? Why teachers being fired? Why heathcare so bad? Why 2 wars? etc
Just waste your life on some ridiclous monster. How truly sad. This is beyond brainwashing,
It's not "politics". It's your life & the way you live daily. Having a decent standard of living, work, health care are human rights under the UN declaration of 1948. They're also enshrined in 2 UN Treaties - of course the US refused to sign them (no suprise there).
So yes. Americans waster their time on consiracy theories like this & denying that globa warming in real. Meanwhile the economy is collapsing round them & this will get worse. This dilusion is harmful
Yes I saw this movie when I was about 10 and it really scared me bad. For years I couldn't goto the basement or out in our woods for fear of that beast. So it's next in my netflix queue and I can't wait to see it again. I plan on watching it at night with some friends with the blinds open lol...

@bps3013 I agree it scared the @#$% out of me as a 6 year old kid. Now I watch it and LAUGH MY ASS OFFI love the bathroom scene where the hillbilly goes into the bathroom, pulls down his pants and sits on the pot and makes a face like he's fixin to take a dump and then in comes the hairy hand . He bolts out of the bathroom and makes no motions indicating he pulled up his underpants, yet they were still up.
I think Einstein was just about to poop in his underpants while sitting on the pot.
@bps3013 LOL I'm so glad that others think the same way ! This really freaked the shit out of me as a kid, and I could never look at that famous pic of Bigfoot staring at the camera without cacking it after watching this.
