It isn't in this generation, but it's definitely not old school. Old school Donkey Kong would consist of Donkey Kong (NES), Donkey Kong Jr, Donkey Kong (GB) Donkey Kong Country 1, 2, and 3. Donkey Kong 64 is not a single one of those. Hell, Donkey Kong for the wii is more old school than this game, and it's newer. Lol.

Whoa, if y'all are seriously calling this Old School. Even if you don't like to acknowledge the original Donkey Kong, you need to at least recognize Donkey Kong Country, which had an arguably more epic theme than Donkey Kong 64... While This was definitely a great game, it reminded me too much of banjo kazooie in the style of gameplay.
