I want those screens in my house looping Neil over and over (sound off of course) as art pieces. Now I just have to wait until I'm rich enough to buy the house that has wall space big enough.. of course the screens probably cost more than a house that size.
I watched an interview with Geddy and Alex on That Metal Show. Geddy jokingly said that Alex always took up a bunch of space with all of his amps and to make things even he (Geddy) wanted to add a rotissere and washing machine. lol
I was there at that Tampa concert, it was an amazing concert. Those guys are true musicians, probably the best group I have ever heard live. YYZ was ten times better live than it ever was on album or on the radio.
i saw him do this solo in oklahoma city in april. i think it was kind of retarded that a guy came out and startded putting that juice on the chicken lol it was funny
saw them live--was a dream come true--all of them were excellent and they truly gave you your money's worth many times over--for me, the highlight was seeing Neil live because he is, in my opinion, the best rock drummer ever! I hope they continue to tour because I regret I didn't see them sooner
Saw them April 25, 2008. I'm generally a pretty chill person, but by god, I was so friggin pumped at that concert, it was unbelievable, and Neil Peart is by far the best drummer on the face of the planet.
Got 4th row tickets for the Montreal show! Can't wait. They are the greatest rock band alive!Went to a show on the R30 tour, but bad seats.Snakes and arrows has a newer set and not all the classics from the R30 show, but who the hell cares?!It's RUSH!!
When I saw them in Saratoga last year, (gonna see them again on July 5th) whenever Neil would hit the kickdrum, I could feel my chest jumping out of me.
Just went to the show in Irvine. Outstanding. Neil was as tight as ever. Can't believe he has so much energy for a 58 year old guy. He is indeed the master. Damn what a great show.
Hola, mi nombre el Walter Moreno y tuve la dicha de ver a RUSH en Tampa en el 2001. Fue grandioso y por cierto casi me saca del estadio uno de seguridad por tomar fotografias

yes buddy, i don't understand when people call him "ONE OF THE BEST DRUMMERS" there is no other drummer better than THEDRUMG0D! yes yes... my name, its referring to neil peart.
Really! Who is better than Neil Peart? I want factual data also. The guy won modern drummers drummer of the year like 5 years in a row. He isn't even on the ballot, but still gets more write in votes than any other drummer every year. He is respected by every peer. He is the greatest living drummer, by far! I only wish Buddy Rich was alive so they could have drum offs. He is incredibly talented and very gifted. If I had 1/2 of his talent I wouldn't have to write here that he is the greatest.
killer i'm with you. I saw them in Tampa several times over the years. Neil NEVER disappoints. Best drummer of all time (except for Buddy Rich of course).

Rush are way too serious. I grew out of them just as I grew out of skateboards and the like. They are for youngsters who are 'impressed' by the music. It is hollow and soulless. You all want me lynched I'm sure, but I stand by what I say. Too serious - no humour or lightness, particularly with the ever-happy Mr Peart. There ar numerous drummers better than Peart. He is a machine and although technically flawless totally lacks groove and looseness. It's all tight fill after tight fill. Very dull
I think you have your positive comments and your negative comments reversed. He has plenty of groove and soul, and in no way considers himself Mr. Marvelous.
you've got to be kidding me right??? no looseness? are you insane? If Neil Pert is not the best currently living drummer he is at least in the top 5. Who do you think is better and has so much more groove and soul than Neil Pert. and he doesn't think high of him self, his fans put him on a pedestal because he's that damn good.
If this is the Kansas City show I was there! It was amazing when he went into that jazzy video part! I loved the chicken baister Geddy had for an amp!
I don't care how good of a drum solo Neil does. I just hope Neil is about on a break out of lyrics about how to show us how he found love after his daughter and wife died. I don't like jazz, I do like Rush hard rock.
well i've seen them live 19 times.. to me peart is the man along with buddy rich.. but after the last concert mr. peart's solo made me sad.. reason.. i'm a drummer and the story his solo said to me that the end is near.. GOD i hope i'm wrong
That's not the point. I just want to hear a well-performed version of the Rhytm M, which is Neil's "song" so to speak. When he plays all this nonsense it's just boring and dissapointing.
Make sense? BTW, I'm a good musician myself, but I've yet to move up to the next level. However, I do know a thing or two about flowing notes and chords
I love when people who know everything like to talk about other people. It amazes me that anyone who is doing absolutely nothing with their life, except making comments on YouTube actually can sit and look in the mirror in the morning.
Anyone who wants to say this is old and tired and worthless, please, post a youtube video of yourself doing it better. We would all love to see it.
And I also know that I'll never play like Neil until I can play at least a few good pieces on the piano . So if fortune is kind to me maybe she'll be kind to you tu

Hey, steelydug, your a friggin retard. You wouldnt know talent if it hit you in the face. Same old stuff?; if you knew ANYTHING about Neil Peart, you would no his versatility is more challenging. BUT, than agin, you are just a retard, what would you know.
jfreiwald....I guarantee you that I have probably forgotten more about drums and drummers than you will ever know child. Neil Peart is a great rock drummer, but his stuff has gotten old and tired, and there are so many drummers out there much better than him. Now go tell Mommy it's nappy-time
Steelydoug- Im 35 y/o, and my mom died last year. As far as Neils stuff getting old and tired, yea, you might be right- but,my opinion is he holds up with the likes of Gene Kruppa, Buddy Rich.Point is, Neil is still going at it- and that in itself deserves respect.
Sorry about your Mom...I lost mine a couple of yours ago. Also, I never said I don't respect Peart. Fact is I consider him to be one of the top ROCK drummers of all time. I just think that time has caught up with him, and he is now merely "riding on reputation"
There's no finesse in this junk; it's just a bunch of noise. He's on par with street drummers now who just sit on the sidewalk and play for spare change. That's what this whole live concert thing has been all about since about Power Windows or HOld your Fire. Money. Plainand simple. They're playing the fans for all they're worth, make no mistake about it . This is not music.

This was THE BEST tour I have ever been to. And been to some biggies (Roger Waters and Tom Petty to name a few). I saw the Seattle show, and I was completely blown away! The best part was that it was an outdoor venue, so your ears didn't ring afterward.
When Neal finished the solo, he looked like he was about to die. But I think this is probably he best solo, not just a changing-the-order-around-with-the-Vapor-Trails-solo like R30 was.
Peart has always been a big fan of drummers like Gene Krupa, Ed Shaunhessy and Buddy Rich and started incorporating the big band stuff on the Hold Your Fire tour using triggers for the horn sounds.
ZZZZZZZ! Wow what a surprise to hear a big band theme at the end;he has never done that before! I think Neil named this solo "the emperor's new clothes"
I was at the show in Charlotte too. best tour so far!!! Loved the setlist and this solo was killer. Liked the way Neil changed things up this time. Wanted soo bad to fly back home for the Spac show but couldn't get a flight back in time....SHIT!!!! Oh well, just hope this wasn't the last tour.
I am an atheist in most aspects, but when it comes to drums------ NEIL IS GOD

I seriously think neil could make his own album someday after the other guys die. (It could just be like stuff on the drums.)

I was at this show, if the lights were on you might see me in the left side, closer to the stage, lol. Best Rush show ever.

Has anyone ever seen Neil Peart and Tom Hanks in the same room together? No, of coure not. Thats because they both are one and the same!
Check it out, he looks just like the actor. My life is in danger for revealing this....

I don't know, I think R30 in SLC was a bit better, at least in terms of sound. Still, great show.

I was there in SLC also. That show was better than the R30 concert in 04'. Peart tore it up last night!!!

I also saw them in the Saddledome in Calgary, our seats were right to the right of Alex. (His Right.)
Never forget it, I almost got one of the things Alex was throwing out, but the guy infront of us got it.

Peart has always been a big fan of drummers like Gene Krupa, Ed Shaunhessy and Buddy Rich and started incorporating the big band stuff on the Hold Your Fire tour using triggers for the horn sounds.
AeolianReflex 4 years ago
ZZZZZZZ! Wow what a surprise to hear a big band theme at the end;he has never done that before! I think Neil named this solo "the emperor's new clothes"

This is the best youtube video of neil that i've seen yet from this tour. Unless someone knows of one better?
But still it doesn't do it justice. You got to see this live!!!
