  • Did you get this gun back yet? Please do an update, thanks.

  • @kawiklr Yes, but the problem still exists. It is more aesthetic now than it is functional since the moved the sight a bit, but I am still not happy. We are still dealing.

  • Smith and Wesson typically has some of the best customer service around, however their workmanship has gone down a little lately. I even saw a 686 performance center 6 shot with the 686+ fluting for 7 cylinders. typically they are the best revolvers out there, but some slip through I guess and they have some issues lately. sorry you had to have this problem though good luck did you get it back BTW?

  • S&W generally has decent quality for there revolvers. Autoloaders not so much. I have heard countless tails of feed stoppages and other failures, from law enforcement officers no less. It. seems their quality control has been sketchy for 20 years now. that's why I don't own one.

  • Do a part 2 on this already! :-)

  • So did it ever get fixed or did they replace it? Just wondering about an update.

  • There are a lot of people out there that don't care about the small details and will completely disregard the nitpicking of someone like you (and me) as being unreasonable. Unfortunately, you were stung twice. Once when the revolver was allowed to ship to a retailer, and again when you returned it for alignment. I can definitely understand your frustrations, especially when you paid extra for the "nice" model. Hopefully they get this one fixed for you. Best of luck.

  • Yeah me too, recently boldly lied to by their less than honest customer support rep and after 3 trips back I sold the gun and bought a Sig, which has been flawless.

  • @TheYankeeMarshal update vid? or havent u herd back from them?

  • I hate to say this, but I was just as disappointed as you are. I bought the PC 627 (8 shot 357), and really didnt check it til I got home. The trigger was all gnarled up, and the timing was off! Right out of the box! I was sick after thinking about the quality I was going to get, and ended up thinking how their PC people could not have cared 1 bit about what was sent out..

  • thats why i'll never pay over $480 maybe 5 for a handgun.

  • I was actually looking at getting one of these.

  • The way they worded that letter is very tricky. "to our standards" could basically just mean that they have an acceptable margin of error and your gun falls within those specs. They probably can't fix something like that short of replacing the whole gun and sent it back hoping you'd be dumb enough to accept it. Good for you sending it back. Stick it to em!

  • My understanding is that S&W has recently outsourced it's customer service to Carnival Cruises...

  • I agree keep us informed

  • 1:40 Porky the Pig impression #2

  • The remarks are hilarious. ^^

  • I have also worked with S&W and they did the same BS to my M&P40.....I sent it back for repair and got it back as PASSED but it was exactly the same.........Ended up selling the POS and bought a SIG226 and never looked back.......When my SIG broke SIG not only fixed it they upgraded me to an free SRT trigger .......How sweet it is !

  • How disgusting. This is why I will continue to only purchase older model Smiths. I know you've ranted about people that say, "Things were better in the old days," But S&W revolvers seem to be a case where that is a true statement. The older models are still shining examples of American craftsmanship. The new ones seem to be an example of whogivesashittedness.

  • Tell me how you really feel?

  • @ebomey What? Right now? Hungry...a little horny...and a little sleepy.

  • @TheYankeeMarshal

    You had me at HORNY!

  • How long was the turnaround?

  • @escheld1 A little under two weeks I would say.

  • I have airsoft guns with tighter tolerances!! I'll trade you . . .

  • red hawk

  • drag, i hope they can fix it for you

  • I will show this to my gun club.

  • Fingers crossed for you bro....

  • That too bad man. I know alot of people who work at S&W.. Do u know the emoly # on who worked on it?

  • You're just not having any luck with "Customer Service" at all recently. Hope S&W comes through for you. What is happening with Carnival Cruises?

  • Did you happen to see MrCleanerNash's video? 686 S&W, but same letter, same issue, not resolved. Yikes! This is there PC gun too... you'd think they would want this to be the be all for their company..

  • Wow I hate to see what there standards would be on a non performance center product. That is just sad, I can see anyone making a mistake, but to send that back to you ............ shame on them.

  • I'm about to go through a S&W repair myself. If the phone call is any indicator, I'm worried. It took 41 min. on hold to talk to someone. The guy's excuse was "Well we handle CS for 3 companies now" (S&W, TC and Walther I imagine). Luckily (if you can call it that), my 669 was under a 20-something year-old recall, so the shipping is free both ways. We'll see what comes back to me...

  • I hope it works out for you!!!

  • Wow, not good. I sincerely hope that they get this sorted out for you & are courteous enough to compensate you for your time.

  • I'm getting too depressed to watch your channel. First Carnival and now S&W. It is the apocalypse.

  • Customer service is always #1 in my book. Anyone can sell you anything but will they stand behind it down the line. It always sucks when you are the 1in a million to have the problem with a product. I have been a strong S&W person since my LE days in the 70's and I hope they will resolve this issue for you.

    Glock n Load,

    Mike

  • That sucks bro. Good luck, I hope it gets resolved.

  • smith & wesson bastards! what are they going to do about the damage? the only thing i would except at this point would be a new gun. i'm pissed and they didnt even hose me! :)

  • Horrible and sad to hear.

    Goooooo ruger and Taurus

  • Just Tweeted about this. People need to know about the Bad customer service!!!!

  • Wow - "American" manufacturers are really taking a sh*t, huh? Will have to hold off on a purchase from them I've saved up for till they make right.

  • that sux man, that barrel looks like sh!t. I hope they actually do some work on it next time u send it in.

  • @NiceNineMillimeter Barrel length has little to do with accuracy outside of sight radius. But since you asked, the twisted barrel makes proper sight alignment impossible. add that to the fact it is a new gun that is improperly put together is an issue.

  • dont mean to say ur in the wrong at all. but just like anything else thats mass produced there are tolerances and specifications that companies have in effect granted a gun like this should be absolutely perfect but those issues will always be there.. im sure theres a bunch of ppl lookin at their guns now lol.. i dont blame ya at all tho

  • your not having good luck with customer service lately!

  • Is this model still in production?

  • @cbronson224 I do not think so.

  • @TheYankeeMarshal Damn I'd love to have one of these sexy guns. :/ Even if Id have to do my own gunsmithing to straight a barrel. after all im sure weve all had to straight barrels ;)

  • i was going to drive my 657 PC back to them to refinish it as it has some nicks here and there when I bought it brand new. but man, maybe I won't?! sorry to see this. how frustrating!

  • I've always thought of S&W as top of the line, now stooping to Taurus standards

  • it took me a while to see what it was that you were talking about...it doesnt look that bad, it really doesn't....but I am kinda the way you are ONCE I notice something, I always see it, I have a sig that one side of the slide rails look different from the other side, but I just dont pay attention to it anymore, it still shoots GREAT!! Bottom line is its not going to be perfect. I hope you dont take this the wrong way.. I really wouldnt worry about that, its pretty common for stuff like that.

  • i had a PC 1911 when they were still labeled PC 1911, it was a collectable! they did the same exact thing to me, exactly! once i got it back it still was not fixed, i will never buy S&W anything.

  • It's good we have youtube to show-up smug companies when they don't show accountability

  • I never cared for S&W guns and the company. I have been to their S&W academy and the instructor think they're gods, and their guns have been going down hill since the 70'.They will fix it, they will get it right, but it will take a few trips to the factory before it's over. They like playing the odds, they knew the guns had a problem, but it is cheaper for them to repair it IF the customer notices it, then to fix all of them at a loss. I worked for a large CT gun manufacturer that is no longer.

  • Tell them, "they won't like you when your mad..." Then offer to take them on a carnival cruise.

  • It's good we have youtube to show snub companies when don't stand accountable

  • Make them send you another one!

  • @TheYankeeMarshal I'm a stock holder not the CEO

  • As a stock holder I have to apologize.

  • Looks like Smith & Wesson is gone down the shitter. My friend MrCleanerNash had his problems with his Smith & Wesson revolver also after seeing you both with the same time of problems and customer service I am staying away from Smith & Wesson revolvers

  • A bunch of monkeys working in the S&W gunsmith dept. If you recall my 686 came back worse condition as well. I think I hold the record of sending back 3 times before they replaced it with another canted barrel gun LOL. Check out my PPQ vid I rip on S&W in the beginning LOL.

  • Well Well Suprise suprise...Not one to say I told you so but....LOL no all j/k aside sorry to hear. You have two options: 1) live with it or 2) sell it. Per my experience S&W is incapable of fixing and they admitedly said so to me.

  • WTF.... times have changed.

  • as sad as i am to say it s&w of today isnt the old s&w my dad has the 460 vrx has been sent back 3 times and loctited front sight fell off twice when hunting even the main spring broke

  • @mrbpbell1 That's "Mr." Bitch & Moan to you son. Leaving is your prerogative. Good luck in your quest for finding people with which you never disagree. Don't worry too much about me. I tend to lose a few every day, but I get a few more back than I lose. if I ever went a day without losing at least a couple subscribers I would think I was boring.

  • ruger is cheaper...

  • You are the second person I'm subscribed to that had this issue.. The other was MrcleanerNash. He had several problems with S&W.. They have really gone down hill the the last decade or so in the customer service aspect..

  • This makes me very sad. I am a S&W man. They made the best revolvers in the world IMHO. I hope they get this resolved. I only buy old S&W revolvers myself. They were so much better.

  • @TheYankeeMarshal lskw1 and MrCleanerNash same way...apparently they bore or machine them off center and its the best they can get it....

  • Do what I did: Switch to Ruger.

  • Man that sucks, hope you get it taken care of.Sorry you had such a poor experience with them.

  • That is complete horse shit! I would have went off on them on the phone. I have no issue w/telling a first tier representative to put someone on the phone that I can yell at. Hope they get it right.

  • That is so frustrating, I had the same problem sending my subcompact PX4 back to beretta due to finish flaking off underneath the slide and pitting in the actual slide and they sent it back "fixed" 8 weeks after I sent it and nothing was done to it. I ended up just keeping it and not sending it back hopefully it'll be fine in the long run.

  • I had an M&P 9mm sent it to them 4 times. they never got it right. i just got my money back.

  • I think Smith & Wesson is owned by Carnival Cruise Lines.

  • I hear ya man there QC has gone down the drain, and makes me not want to purchase anymore of there guns...

  • Got it. Are there any revolvers out there that pin the barrel to the frame to prevent rotation?

  • Oh My Gosh, you are so sexy when you're angry-and I can't even see you. JK bro, that is a pile of steaming hash. I don't know how much you paid for it, but I'd ask them for 10% more since they scratched it and wasted your time. The big companies feel they have the right to crap on the people dumb enough to buy their product. It's like we deserve to be screwed just because they have or had a good reputation. What ever happened to the customer is always right? Good Luck pal.

  • YES S&W = Shitty Workmanship

  • That's too bad...At least you still have your sense of humor :)

  • The problem I see is that they called it a customer "complaint." It's not a complaint, it's a fucking product issue.

  • Wow, thanks for heads up. Guess I'll stick with my Pythons

  • good god, the customer service lately has really dropped the ball from all gun companies. Im starting to get pissed off and im not the ones having trouble. Its bullshit you white collared pencil pushing nancies. Here's a thought...how about you corporate pricks stand by your product? How about you take care of the people paying your salary? How about some pride in your work? WTF happen to the good ole days when all these things mattered the most? ...."nerd rage"....

  • I stick with Charter, best customer service I have EVER dealt with.

  • I have had bad luck with S & W. I had a lemon P22 Walther. I will never buy another S & W anything ever again. Good luck with your troubles man.

  • After your first video I checked my 686 plus. And I have a similar alignment issue. Only difference is you can see the gap on mine from the top instead of the sides. The spacing from left to right changes between the barrel and frame. It's not a big enough deal to get me worked up. But I did just buy an m&p and the rear sight was a little warped like the molding wasn't right at the factory. Called them and they sent me a new one, no questions asked. Hopefully they see this video. Good luck.

  • Tell them u want to talk to Mr. Smith or Mr. Wesson

  • I always loved the look of S&W revolvers. I am a Ruger fan boy though.

  • Dam yall whine alot...Looks like grinding to fix that...

  • @COLT45keith Sorry, but most of us do not sit around grinding our barrels all day like some people....oh heck...who am I trying to kid?

  • @TheYankeeMarshal Ok, my last Ruger S/A polished stainless revolver i bought, the ejector housing isn't polished nowhere near as good as the rest of the gun. Should i send it back?

  • @COLT45keith That's not the point. The point is that it never should have left the factory.... nay, the PERFORMANCE CENTER, like that. Besides, a front sight being a few millimeters canted in one direction has a very negative effect on a round 25 yards downrange.

  • @DTesch357 what can you do though, they obviously seen the problem when he sent it back....idk

  • Mrcleanernash had this same problem. Check out his video

  • This iks reaaly a joke, They don't care if you get it back still not fixed. let me know also I will not buy a smith also

  • I bet you'd like to go down there and pistol whip them for acting Stupid and Treating you like a Second Class Citizen ??? They ought to replace it with a Brand New One for Sure !!! Don't Settle for Less !!! Look at the Price ??? Good Luck !!!

  • @MrTommyboy9 Geez! Your avatar startled me. Where did you ever find such a disturbing picture??? Unless of course that picture is of you. In that case, aren't you lovely. :)

  • @TheYankeeMarshal Hey you like my Florida Hat with Fake Hair Photo, Nice Huh ???

  • Hey your gun got hit by a" Performance Center Hammer." that makes it special. Hang in there man.....

  • i would recommend that you send call them and provide this link to you YT channel and Video stating that this is unacceptable and it was returned more damaged than it was originally returned!

That is truly disgusting and unheard of coming from the voted top post sale customer service leader in the industry. So you know that they will replace the gun if you choose to press that! and I would love to see it in the next video. But let us know how it goes.

  • Trade it for a NICE used one.

  • This is why i no longer own ANY smith & wesson products. Trade it for a Ruger Redhawk Alaskin.

  • wow, I have heard of some of these issues, had no idea it was this bad.

  • I thought you handled that well. I would have been all Yosemite Sam with the cussing and six shooters.

  • I'd be raging after getting that thing back with new marring on it!!!!

  • I've had a similar issue with Heritage revolvers. The Rough Rider in particular.

  • Shoot the gun. If it shoots on target, then the sights are aligned and the barrel is on correct. Meaning, it would be an exterior dimension issue. One side of the top rib or one side of your top strap is thicker or thinner than the opposite.

  • Bad service indeed! They need to pull a brand new gun off the line inspect it and send it to you period....

  • @humans4targets2 That would be a great idea if they still made these...which they do not. :(

  • Looks like a good old fashioned case of tolerance stacking. Bet they'd have to mill a hair off the barrel, redo the head spacing and refinish it. In short S&W says 'meh'

  • @mrmaigo Exactely. They did the final finishing with the barrel crooked. Now they will have to do some extra finishing once the barrel is straight and they do not want to do it.

  • Didn't even show the unboxing.. Might as well have no even showed the box. lol. And wow on S&W customer service.

  • @MuscIeBound I have never understood the appeal of listening to guys grunting and breathing heavily as the get winded trying to open a cardboard box.

  • I sent in a mod59 semi for repair, cost $200 got it back from S&W took it to the range 1st

shot the gun fell apart in my hands!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @DasBulk Nope, he barrel is over rotated. The barrel is clearly cocked clockwise and you look down the barrel. Even the sights are off to the right as you look down the barrel.

  • Sheesh!,,, some gun owners are such whiney bitches! HE HE HE! Had to throw that out there! Im feeling ya Dude for sure!! I'de be flippin ticked off! Thats it Carnival and S&W are on my shit list!

  • 100% agree ... perhaps, S & W is just becoming "a bit to big for they're britches?!?! S & W, PLEASE do nor forget your roots, and who/how, got you there !!!

  • I have heard of several people having this problem with their S&W revolvers.

  • that sucks thet 629 you have is the exact one i want to get and i have seen a lot of posts of that issue has me scared to pick one up

  • I'm sorry you're having issues with S&W. I don't think I've ever heard anyone say they had problems with them. Did you not see this issue when you purchased the gun? Usually you get to inspect the firearm before you take possesion of it.

  • @gunnwild1 I bought the gun from an internet dealer after not being able to get one locally. Unfortunately I have seen MANY people having the same issue recently.

  • @gunnwild1 MCNash had the same problems

  • You are the 3rd person I have heard about the newer 629s having barrel issues. One of the people I know just had a local LGS fix it. Might be the fix here.

  • ...wow.

  • wow that sucks. hope all ends well

  • Wow...keep us posted on what they do for you.

  • Wow,that sucks..Give'em hell!!!!

  • lol that sucks! I hope everything works out. I know how you feel lol

  • @SonsOfLiberty65 This just isn't acceptable with a $1200 revolver.

  • @TheYankeeMarshal lolol i agree

  • sounds like to me they align there stuff by the eye ,the guy that has that job must have cross eyed or there machine tollerances are really poor

  • Wow

  • im still looking for the right 44mag...i just wont buy one that is crooked at all, your barrel looks short and to the left :)

  • Drink a beer

  • They are hoping you will go away.

  • damn that sucks. hopefully they quit acting like jackasses and fix your gun for you.

  • Thats sucks, keep on em.

  • wow id be so damn pissed about that scratch especially since its not even fixed damn!

  • If it weren't for bad luck you wouldn't have any.:)

  • that suck bad! i'v had nothing but good experiances with s&w...
