RelayRides does NOT inform you that their key card technology that uses RFID can be hacked by a simple wallet sized reader and emitter device that can scan the key card in your pocket by simply walking passed you. The device then becomes an emitter that allows a thief to open the vehicle door after the renter punched in the reservation number and parked it at the mall, etc.
Your vehicle is now open for theft....Just wait till the thieves catch on.
You would never believe these two go together; but under the law they do. It's shocking; but true. There is actual case law that backs this fact up. This is regardless if there is a million dollar insurance policy. Plus, with the insurance company's subrogation rights, a vehicle owner can be personally liable for any payout.
This is one fact that companies like RelayRides have failed to take into account. Nor have they informed their members.
