She would have won the Best Supporting Actress Oscar in 1962 for "The Manchurian Candidate" if she hadn't been nominated against the equally wonderful Patty Duke in "The Miracle Worker". Awards are all about timing.

What a class act. I've always loved her narrorations for movies and her acting in some of the most biggest films well known, Lansbury is a complete and graceful woman. So happy that she got this award. Broadway suits her. I'm only 22, but stuff I have seen her do, I've always loved her kindered, humble spirit. Movies would be nothing without her!

@avenueyay I 100% agree with you and I do not personally believe this but some people that know me and my love for ms. lansbury have suggested that (again I don't think she would be this way but) maybe if she won #6 and stole the record from julie harris that she may not do another broadway show after night music. However, I know for sure that she would never do anything just for awards, I mean [sad to say but] take "Murder She Wrote" for instance.

Actually she has well over 40 films to her name as of today. Most honorary oscar receipiants don't even have half that amount to their credit. And I agree she deserves one. She's already been snubbed 3 times for that and 15 times for an Emmy.

I think Angela Landsbury should get an honarary Oscar. She has not made a ton of films but her performances are amazing ( Gaslight, The Picture Of Dorian Gray, The Manchurain Candidate, Beauty and the Beast). I believe quality should matter more than quantity.
