From an American point of view, foreign films are way better than most american films. Us americans are so stuffy, that we couldn't imagine making a movie like this and if we did, it would turn out stupid. This is a great film with a great cast. I tripped when I found out it was Marianne Faithful. Sundance channel on cable shows some really great foreign flicks.
This is the most inspiring movie I have ever seen. It's a reminder that all women can be of service to men - no matter how old or ugly. I long for the day that thousands of girsl do this work to get into college rather than doing meaningless part-time jobs!!!
Hey doesn't that chick that tells her she can't qualify for the loan look like she could be her daughter? I wouldn't be surprised if they are mother and daughter.
Other foreign movies I think people will like is Lemon Tree. This is also a great, great movie. I recommend it.
