I can definitely say that this enhances my appreciation of the TMBG version. Not that this is bad, just to hear what they took and how they reworked it gives me a greater appreciation.
i thought "they might be giants" wrote this song for a long time....i like TMBG'S version better, but this is pretty good, and i like the simple but very effective writing
Such an incredible video...I love Cub...great band, and watching this makes me want to just take them to all the places in New York City I love (sigh)
This song is really underrated. And I'm not just saying that because I'm Canadian and they're a Canadian band. I'd like to see more people cover this one. Why not? It's totally singable! One of the most beautiful (puppy) love songs ever written. And I mean that with all due respect. And I have a musicologist friend who agrees. So there.
They Might Be Giants covered it (or bought the rights or something). I saw them play a short time apart once in SF and Cub did not play the song, but TMBG did. It was weird. Great song.

Why couldn't Al Quaida have struck that morning and flown directly into the cub boat? What a wonderful world it would be!

TMBG plays this everytime they play Vancouver it seems.
I saw Cub open for... Gee - was it Mollie's Revenge?
Somehow it makes me all emotional. Must be the Canucks jersey.

The drummer is wearing an old ugly ass Vancouver jersey..LOL

"TMBG" massacred this song IMHO!

Cub doesn't agree with you, since they've opened for TMBG in the past.

I was saddened to hear of their breakup.
I almost saw them live. We drove very quickly from Pittsburgh, PA to Richmond, VA. We just missed them. They were opening for The Muffs.
This kind of music is very nostalgic. It was a cool time to be in college.

Thanks for the video.
Anyone by chance have anymore Cub videos? I taped New York City off Muchmusic long ago, and once saw "My Chincilla", but that's it!
