It,s from a book called Beyond the Himalayas -which was made into a documentary which tells the tale of a father and his son who crosses the the mountain into Nepal, many children every year do this journey very often without their parents, go in exile for a better life, type Lost in the Himalayas in google....

I am privilaged to live near a city the Dali lama visits yearly, if not more often. H likes it here. :) Also my small town has a temple that was finished not long ago, where some of his monks abide. Have to visit it yet, and also go see the Dali Lama speak in person-seen it on local TV. He is a sweetie!
