NO didn't really do drugs, they did do a lot of drinking though, in fact Barney was hospitalized on the American Tour of '89 with drinking related problems.
Still one of my top 10 songs from the 80s, and one of my all time favorite songs either. Honestly though, and not to take away from the song itself, but am I the only one who hears this song and pictures Molly Ringwald making her prom dress for the Prom in "Pretty in Pink?"
lol!!! "it dies so slowly, it grows so quickly" @ 3:55
good one, Bernard...
seems that every bit of live footage i see of N.O. theres like at least 5 slip ups from different members (with the exception of Morris). huge wtf. maybe ppl couldnt handle their drugs back in the 80s...
anyhow, still love this song, and a lot of stuff from N.O. (not everything, though).... great stuff
Here's the latest news, nimrod - massive amounts of drugs make bands creative and different. If you don't like drugs, don't listen to NO, because all the best songs are influenced by drug use (ecstacy)
lol i think u need to read my post one more time, but perhaps a bit slower, genius..... but really, what do i care? just figured i'd help u try to understand so u don't make urself look retarded... then again, it may be too late for that >.>
I saw New Order on this tour. Incredible live performers. I had my doubts they could duplicate such an electric sound as satisfyingly live. But they were superb- engaging, powerful and fabulous live performers. New Order often unfairly gets lumped categorically w/ the many push button, electric-techno quirkie bands of the 80s. And that's abslutely wrong. This was one of the 80s best bands- very influential with a broad appeal at their peak.
@Guedingen you miss the point, Barney's often said of himself that perhaps he is not the most technically gifted musician, but is more creatively talented than a lot of others, I mean I can think of loads of 'virtuoso' musicians whose entire musical output is a load of crap.

Less commercial, more fun! You know what that is?
Doubt it somehow. Was there and complained yeah, but best gigs of my fucking life. No argument.
