  • Good lord, I wish I could fuckin' kill that bunch of imbeciles, screaming in the background - you can't hear the music behind their yelling. At least in first 30 seconds

  • PS more vids, milpiper you play very nicely buddy

  • That chick would put me right off my game.

  • sexy woman ;-)

    Good playing

  • wouldnt mind that jigger on my face!!

  • heh.. ya know. I've never seen a video of someone piping, and all the sudden a scottish dancer busts out on the floor and start tearing it up. Its always the irish dancers.

    Great piping.

  • It's a great dance. I like it to hear. I can't dance.

  • Great playing!! dont listen to people who hide behind blind comments.Let's see them get their Kilted arses up there and play something!!! keep it up excellent!!

  • I have been pipeing and compeating for almost 20 years now. He is in a pub just having fun not comeating! If you want to complain I would like to see you do any better. Outstanding job, please give us more videos.

  • Thanks for then kind words...sorry so long on the response. I've been "out of town" for the past many months. As you point out, it was just for a bit of fun and someone happened to have a camera. Certainly not up to competition standard...certainly wouldn't play either of these jigs in solo competition!

  • Milpiper you're in Dayton ?? Are you with a band ? Windsor's up the I75 you know !! Just curious. Cheers P.

  • Due to work I simply don't have the time to commit to a pipe band--I travel to0 much with work..sometimes for weeks at a time. I tried to commit when Cincy got their GIII band going, but I just couldn't make it happen...even at Grade III. Plus, my piping now isn't up to playing with WPPB...you guys have a great band. To keep on the horse, I'm planning to do solo comps this year. Maybe I'll see you at a comp! All the best!

  • Nice piping especially considering no fancy audio. Thumbs up!

  • I look foward to seeing you on the comp circuit one of these days.

  • bah, about time the dancers waited on the piper, good on you

  • Nice work... dunno if means much coming from a drummer... heh.

  • I didn't hear too much rushing, I thought it was a very presentable performance. It's always helpful when the crowd not only claps along, but holds the beat as well. Usually they try to speed up on you!

  • Thanks for the kind words, but my hiatus from competition shows...I posted this to share with friends overseas. I lived in the UK for 5 years and studied under three VERY good Scots Guards pipers in that time - I'd rather not post their names, as they'd shoot me they heard me play like that! I'm hoping to get back into band and solo comps this year.

  • Nice piping. Very capable player. Who was/is your instructor if you don't mind my asking?

  • Consider also that being from Scotland doesn't make you a good piper any more than being in a band makes you a good musician. I'm sure your friend's band is great fun to see perform. There are 3 local bands that I see regularly with pipers on the same level as your friend and each puts on a great show. Their respective BANDs are great, THEY don't claim to be "professional" pipers. They understand that being a "professional" is more than just taking money for being mediocre.

  • Your friend claims to be a "professional", but his playing in the video you reference is substandard MUSIC. Both his musical and technical execution are poor at best && chanter unbalanced at the top and poorly blown--all on beginner-level tunes!! I make no reference to HIM...only the PIPING of a self-proclaimed PROFESSIONAL. There's plenty of piping better than mine, but not the example you cite. Now, I've posted something of my own...now YOU put up or shut up. ;)

    Cheers, mate!

  • I saw him and milpipers right. Nothing personal Irishppr.

  • I've written directly to irishpiper38 and asked him to post something "better" of his own. I stated in my comments that this isn't great piping--I'm sure that we've ALL heard better piping...I've heard better piping than my own and have such posted in my 'favorites'. I'm looking forward to seeing irishpiper38's "better" piping...or if he's just a hack that knocks others to make himself feel bigger. I'm sure we're all hoping for the former...I certainly am.

  • I made my initial remark after the crappy comment you posted about Scott Beach ( Colorado Bagpiper )Although his video is not the greatest nor is the sound, I have seen him and his Celtic Band Canned Haggis perform many a time in pubs and they are great. So I guess what I am trying to say is, before you go bitching about someones playing, don't go judge the book by the cover without any knowledge of who the person is or even what his capability is.

  • Idiot, I would like to see you even TRY to pipe.

  • Pretty good, I have heard better

  • I'm sure you have...I don't claim to be an open grade or 'professional', 'master piper', etc. unlike many of pipers who post. I see that you don't have anything posted...so let's hear something better from you.

  • Do not be so hard in your description... This is not too bad! I hope I can be that good some day. Did you learn in the army?

  • Good piping!
