There is no way to judge Lennon to his son. Due to the fact it wasnt just Lennon writing. Paul and Lennon collaberated on every song, however if it was small they usually gave full ownership to the main writer. After careers of both Lennon and Paul show that without one another they both couldnt produce the same music as they could before. They both had few hits but not as many with the Beatles. Sean Lennon is atleast in the music buiss, give he respect.

Not true. Most singer/songwriters compose their songs on either piano or guitar first, then add all of the bells and whistles later. I'm saying the core of this song is inherently dull. The melody isn't even catchy - which is needed the most when in popular mainstream. I know MANY solo singer songwriters that are exponentially more entertaining than this sappy drivel. It's an obvious show of "riding daddy's coatails."

Yeah so are most songs with just one instrument. I mean even an artist who is known just for playing acoustic guitar adds in stuff to make it more interesting. I mean just throwing this out there, but "Yesterday" could be an example. Withouth the strings in the background of Yesterday do you think it would have been a hit. No probably not. Thats what making music is about. Taking sounds and mixing them to make them sound good together.

Yeah, but thats how he wrote it. You can't just take instruments out and say "well now that song sucks." It works well together and thats how it was written. If there wasn't a big backing band or strings the entire song might have been written differently.
