I don't think it was entirely of his own free will, and Alucard existed for several centuries before meeting Abraham, meaning he'd still have massive power, it has been only 100 years since losing and some of those years he spent sealed away. I'd say the fact that a regular human like Abraham still beat Alucard still makes him a badass on par with the great vampire.

2:He was locked in the basement after the events of the 1940s Hellsing (research it).

3: Alucard IS the original vampire.

I know that a lot of people just watch the anime and don't bother to read the manga, but if you did you wouldn't BE GETTING ANSWERS WRONG.

I've noticed something. That these three characters all look similar: Vash the stampede from Trigun, Alucard, And Dante from DMC. Vash has yellow glassess like alucard, and there is a white and black gun from Trigun, hellsing, and DMC. Another similarity they all share Is that none of them are "human" (Vash was bio engineered just in case you didn't know). So i'm guessing that it was Vash first, Alucard second, and Dante third. I think it was Dante, then Vash, then Alucard, and tis funny ion how they all have similirtaires, but are all fundamentally different enough to be their own abdas chacater. The gun thing is also prety sweet. Main differences are Vash is a bio-engineered weapon, Alucard is an invinicble vampire, and dnate is a dmeon hunter with a sword.
