When London heavily bombed during the Battle of Britain, the Royal Family planned to evacuate the capital and moved to Canada....The Queen Mother refuse and said........... "The children won't go without me. I won't leave the King. And the King will never leave."..............this woman truly remarkable!
I`m upset.Sorrow for the british people. She was an great women against Hitler.God bless the queen from Germany and i hope the british people can forget, sorry we were not all nazis,God bless the Uk
This was the lady who put her wedding bouquet on the tomb of the unknown soldier, that says it all i think. Even in her young life she was thinking of the people, could we say that for a politician.
@floridatom1964 The Queen doesnt sing on God Save the Queen for the same reason one isnt supposed to drink when one is being toasted....because you dont join in the singing of ones own praises.
The poor Queen - she looks devastated! Losing a sister and mother in less than a year. I really respect her for keeping her dignity and priorities for her country even though anyone else would want to run from duty at a time like this. I cannot imagine any one to handle her live and struggles with more dignity than her. Long live the Queen.
@quidwitch That situation reminds me of my grandmother. Her mother died in her 98th year in April 2005, while her sister was dying of lung cancer. Her sister died in November 2005. It was one hell of a 75th birthday, Thanksgiving, and Christmas that year. She deteriorated considerable after that, though she is still alive today, she aged considerably from that point on. She was close to both of them.
@kdrench You are silly! Queen Elizabeth has lived her ENTIRE life for HER Country and for her Children!!!
People today do NOT understand the precepts by which she has lived her life, and I doubt they ever will. QE11 never had time to be a silly teen. She is a woman we should all hope to live by and emulate!!
@Aikidolover29 Not at all...they get several names and choose one of them. Charles Philip Arthur George is going to be George (the last Charles they had was a menace).
I know from experience that it's a terrible thing to have to attend the funeral of your mother. I can't imagine having to do it in such a public way as Queen Elizabeth did. You could tell that she was trying very hard not to cry.
May the essence majesty and elegance that she portrayed as a queen and a mother, live on through Elizabeth II and may the sun never set over the commonwealth! God Save the Queen and I salute you!
@mbukukanyau You fatuous fool. The Church of Rome has been on the losing sides of EVERY argument of Social Justice and Societal Progression for 2,000 years. It has had to back-track and retreat at every turn. MY only regret is that the current Archbishop of Canterbury is too timid to follow the American Anglican branch- the Episcopal Church - and realize the Social, Revolutionary call of Jesus Christ.
@mbukukanyau Go back earlier: it's time for both Rome and Canterbury (and the rest of us too!) to rejoin true Biblical Christianity as laid down by our Lord Jesus Christ and recorded in the Holy Scriptures. Soli Deo Gloria.
@IDontLiveTodayJH hahaha revolution funny, I miss the days when even the uttering of those words where treason, now its such a laughable concept its fine to joke about!
The Last Post.... not many Americans know the significance of that bugle call, lost as it is with the American preference for "Taps".. And it goes to point out that Her Majesty saw not one but two World Wars.
@md991free I really loved the Queen Mother really makes me smile when I think about her.
She was a really lovely lady, where my mother lives a neighbour in the village said when they where waiters for a time she was visiting an area, she had all the people working behind to come up front.
Because she wasn't born into the family was married into.
@runriglive99 See the vid on youtibe about royal servants. One of the butlers said that when he was serving he accidently droped a drop of hot gravy on her clevage and he was very ashamed. The queen mum saw his predicament and said aloud, ' do not worry I nudged your hand' In fact she had not done so. What a classy lady to take the blame on herself..
This is what we call the funeral of the highest order and Royalty....We bless God who hath given unto man to design and organize a ceremony like this... May she rule over us for a very long time.... God Save the Queen!
@Monarchos people always have other people that rule over them whether its a republic with politictians or a monarchy. We in the USA cant even direcly elect our own president!
Such a lovely lady, may she rest in peace

To a danish Royalty this is like a Daughter likes her Mother to be dead and so to be.
No feelings what so ever.
The Queen Elizabeth hasn´t learned her child to be warmth and have a kind of a feeling towards other than horses and dogs.
