Just because a law is passed does not mean that it cannot be challenged. This law can be struck down in court. Federal Reserve notes are Legal Tender and the States must comply with Federal Law. This was to keep States from printing their own money but it can now be used in your favor. A State cannot do this unless it is no longer in the Union.

This law is voided by Federal law. Each bill says, "This note is legal tender for all debts, public and private." That's pretty clear—I don't see any wiggle room.
This will never fly in the supreme court. Simply put the federal printed currency says directly on it "for all debts" You cannot refuse a cash payment, it's against federal law. They can't create a law that requires You to break a law or deny someone their basic rights. I have the right to pay in cash, and they have the right to accept in cash.
At least as far as the second hand stores are concerned, the store owners could implement a "balance refundable gift certificate" purchase in the amount of the goods. You come in, choose what you want & buy a gift certificate in the amount of the goods, then use it immediately. Bypass that law any way you can lol. As far as garage sales are concerned.... really? We must pay a HUGE deposit on a credit card machine THEN a percentage is charged to the business for each charged transaction. If using checks, you can't wait days until a check clears to give a customer their merchandise. This then puts the business at a chance for loss & what about criminals using bad or stolen checks? No one's going to buy a money order when cash is convenient.

I read that resale stores can still transact in cash as long as they get the personal info of people they buy stuff from. If so, we need to hold the sellers feet to the fire to just do that so we customers can still pay in cash! It's a loophole, because they can't just make them not use cash for transactions! Upon confirmation of this, the word should be spread. It's just all about tracking us as much as possible, wherever possible, and as usual they will start with vulnerable groups.
People have to realize, that when ever you use your debit or credit card, all these transactions are monitored.... as to where you shop, spending habits, the routes taken to even shop. I own/operate 2 second hand stores in Alabama as well as run work as a national trainer for an international company. We have never received stolen goods nor do we sell them. I know where every piece of merchandise comes from and have proof of how I acquired it. Its just smart business to keep track of what you have and where you got it.

This is treating everyone like a criminal! As a small business owner, this is going to cost us money. We must pay a HUGE deposit on a credit card machine THEN a percentage is charged to the business for each charged transaction. If using checks, you can't wait days until a check clears to give a customer their merchandise. This then puts the business at a chance for loss & what about criminals using bad or stolen checks? No one's going to buy a money order when cash is convenient.

I read that resale stores can still transact in cash as long as they get the personal info of people they buy stuff from. If so, we need to hold the sellers feet to the fire to just do that so we customers can still pay in cash! It's a loophole, because they can't just make them not use cash for transactions! Upon confirmation of this, the word should be spread. It's just all about tracking us as much as possible, wherever possible, and as usual they will start with vulnerable groups.
