  • what an amazing video....

    wwooooww!!!!!

  • Absolutely Astounding! Could be the interior of a derelict spaceship in an Alien movie. Right at 2:36 you should have turned left into that blue room - might be cool.

  • This is what I'd always imagined Atlantis looking like...

  • Is it weird that I find this a rather pleasurable experience, rather than scary/melancholic? It feels very relaxing. It's like visiting a complex, futuristic, organic temple of some sorts, and we're just gently flying through it, taking a look at it all.

  • What program did you use?

  • freaky as but I love it!!!!!

  • Imagine if there was a diamond (the hard substance known to man), that was 100 light years across; and that diamonds was curved to be that is of that 3D fractal, but slaves doing hard labour 24 hours of days and it takes 800,000 quintillion years to biuld. Then the slaves are shot dead, all in the name of God glory; would you accuse God of vanity problems?

  • @TheExaltedPheonix

    God is a damn bastard.

  • Okay, who here attempted to use this technique/program to create actual environments?

I can imagine something like this could be used for hallways or coliseums and whatnot.

  • Gotta love the Sim City 3000/4 music.

  • Wicked shapes! Looks totally like an alien spacecraft. Can't wait til video games can do this sort of stuff real-time.

  • this is My cathedral

and it too is merely a tomb and sepulcher

  • i live down at the bottom

  • IM NOT WORTHY!! *BOWS*

  • Stunning! What was the hybrid you used to make this?

  • Amazing! Is there a download for this somewhere with full quality?

  • wait... what just happened?

  • This is quite literally the coolest thing I've ever seen.

  • 0:28

Are those floating structures connected to the main fractal by quantum - scale structures?

  • For some reason the MandelBROT does not scare me, BUT the MandelBULB hits a phobia in me. I feel as if it is about to emerge friom the screen and gulf me !

  • Thousands of years ago, Buddhism has already expounded the concept of 'universe after universe, worlds beyond worlds'.

From what I see, entering the 'starting point' is similar to entering ONE world system in OUR Universe, and yes, there ARE billions and billions of WORLD Universe containing billions and billions of world systems.

Your 3D model JUST came to illustrate this concept very beautifully.

  • What kind of math went into this?

  • Immpresive.

  • They almost used this set to film "TRON: Legacy" but the nanites couldn't figure out how to algorithmically deduce the main logo.

  • @XanglesPrime I'm probably one of the only people who got that. If you make it to the singularity that is the hub of a mandelbulb, there will be cake

  • sooooo much need a tutorial on this!!! I'm trying to figure out how to create such keyframes. Is there any way to (neatly) map out a cross-section of a hybrid with alpha/beta/gamma=0, y=-3 (or something), zoom=1e-7 (or so), minimum render distance = 0.005 (I don't understand this) to get a perfect cross-section and locate where the cave path is to place keyframes before-hand?

Please if there's a way to give coords of camera center render start? Could use to make map.

  • So, when do I get to fly a small spaceship through this battling the denizens that have taken to guarding the scarce but harshly needed raw materials that allow you to upgrade your ship, create new ones, and provide stationary defenses for the sections of raw space you take, all while utilizing an amazing dynamic lighting sense from a minimum of planetary bodies trapped in orbit, whose light pierces through the larger gaps like a waterfall of luminescence and leaves the smaller nooks truly dead.

  • I love it but they are kinda gloomy and creepy looking sometimes. Make a Hello Kitty one next.

  • I have no idea what I just watched, but it's awesome.

  • favorited! oh my god this is incredible.

  • I would love to have something like this on my desktop.

  • The knowledge that I can know that this goes for forever scares the shit out of me. but it's so fascinating that I can't help exploring

  • It floats in the middle of a long-extinct nebula. We don't know what it is or who made it.

Inside its AU-long corridors, there is air. Through that air, the unholy screams of things unknown to man resound.

We've searched. But its inhabitants are quite elusive. And they have no shortage of hiding places.

In the center is an alien power battery, long drained. It reflects its surroundings with its pale shifting hue.

The structure is unknowable in both size and builder. We call it the Cathedral.

  • holy shit man. what is this music ?!?! "Music: some from YouTube Audioswap (unfortunatelly I forget the title)" you got to be kidding me..

  • 165 hours of rendering... please don't tell me you did this on an i7... or i will cry...

  • for all we know this could be what an electron looks like

  • sweet.

  • did you divide by zero?

  • There's no doubt this is sweet 3D and a real achievement for anything outside of a render farm. I'm wondering what the computer/s specs were. Also the depth of field that the fractal tool seems to have I think might have got rid of a lot of the aliasing problems. I'll have to try it myself and see what I can come up with. Thanks for sharing!

  • Amazing. This should be the home world of the Gods in Ridley Scott's Prometheus.

  • I love the shout out to the fractal center

  • how did You pause and explore to my brain mate?

  • So pure freeness of mind body & of cource soul; V nice!

  • amazing

  • Magnificent!

  • This is so incredible...I'm speechless!!!

    Thank you for sharing

  • DMT research it.

  • wow this is so beautiful..in sound and video..

  • This is the 1st person view of a sperm after sex with a cyborg

  • What is this song called?

  • Wow, there should be made a game with this. A game where you can fly true in real time with friends in multiplayer. But I gues today's computers are not fast enough to do this realtime. Maybe someday :D

  • When you are torn between two mutually exclusive options, you are missing a third one in which the two can be assimilated making 3=1. -Swami Veda Bharati

The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new lands but seeing with new eyes. - Marcel Proust

  • Amazing music, and the visuals are intense, gives me a fealing of god consciousness zooming out of the universe and finding its some fractal like this video, millions within millions, Simply amazing!

  • one is all, all is one

  • It's been asked, but I really want to know the forumulas you used for this.

No. I NEED to know them.

  • which formulas did you use?

  • that's.... wonderful.

Oh my godz, it's fulla starz !

  • When I look at this, I can imagine a manmade planet; a world that was created by hand to support the lives of trillions.

  • At which point did your computer catch fire?

  • Looks like something you would see if you combined Final Fantasy with Resistance Fall of Man

  • sooooo relaxing... thank you for posting!:)

  • PLEASE figure out the name of that song.

  • @Strikerklm96 The name of the song is "Stratosphere" by David O'Brien & Gareth Johnson. Here's a link to the full song: youtube dot com /watch?v=x_hzV_61_F8

  • @CommonAtheist Thanks you so much!

  • @CommonAtheist thank you very much

  • Thank you very muck sir

  • Math, the final frontier. these are the voyages of the computer Xlace. it's mission, to go strange new places, to seek out new equations and new patterns. To boldly go where no man can ever go.

    This is beautiful.

  • FREAKIN' AWESOME!!

    BEAUTIFUL, MAJESTIC, ORDERLY, SERENE, PEACEFUL...

  • I wish i knew WTF was going on.

  • I love the music and the mood. Very melancholy and beautiful.

  • How is it that you can fly so close over surfaces without them morphing on you? When I get close to a feature, I find it tends to morph and look more skeletal the closer you get, eventually dissolving away.

  • @H41909, It depends on the formula. Sometimes it behave as you described, but sometimes with some formulas it is possible to zoom without dissolving of details.

  • @xlace Thanks! Is there a formula you'd recommend that is particularly unlikely to dissolve?

  • @xlace u tweaked this shit so perfect, it is an amazing video

  • V'ger?

  • Unbelievable: Im STILL processing the intricasy of this thing.

  • An alien megacity

  • i really enjoyed this video!

would you mind if i re-posted it (giving due credit of course) under a different music?

  • @jasveenpuri, No problem, please do it

  • The one dislike must be a misclick. Definitely

  • This will be the largest apartment complex known to man

  • Absolutely awesome - I had goosebumps watching this - probably aided by the music which worked great with the vid. What did you do whilst it rendered though??? Must have been infuriating waiting, but the rewards are a sight to behold...

  • Nice Fractals in my Channel too

  • I suddenly have an urge to do this in realtime... :3

Models generated through geometry shaders, simplified meshes with parallax mapping and/or geometry tessellation, "true impostors" technique; a quadcore machine with the latest midrange geforce should be able to run it.

Damn you for stealing the next year or two of my free time :D

  • @int3rl0per Good luck!

  • @int3rl0per have you already had any luck with that? tesselation should be amazing for this in realtime

  • @phlexonance Not yet. I started the project some time ago but I've been quite busy with work. I'm hoping to get coarse fractal models generated and displayed correctly soon(ish), but I suspect automatic scene graph optimization is going to take a few tries.

  • @int3rl0per ...and the geometry tessellation part is coming after I get the coarse models displayed. :)

  • @int3rl0per Why don't you collaborate with the guy who made Fragmentarium?

  • @phlexonance Maybe later on in the project - the fun part is figuring out how to do it yourself. :)

  • For some reason the song from Metroid started playing in my head.

  • I would like to see any art or literature approach the beauty of this fractal.

  • Wtf! Was I the only person who thought I was falling through debrey of rocket parts wtf!!

  • No clue what I am looking at, but it is amazing.

  • Looks like the Matrix

  • A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! !!

    <3 it

  • I am so pleased to learn about this form of visual meditation tool thank you

  • It's a real masterpiece of Fractal Art.

Thank you very much for your contribution.

  • The next Terrence Malick's movie... ^^

  • @mariontinker48423

    Yeah, that would be great...

  • someone should make a Game out of this concept. have Huge fractals you can explore maybe even make. perhaps some day.

  • This is a great Mandelbox. It's complex enough to be beautiful, but simple enough that the self-similarity is obvious. Excellent music, too.

  • is this video subject to copyright ???

  • jesus 165 hours.. when is rendering going to speed the hell up?

  • Mc escher would have cut off a toe to see this. Of this I am sure.

  • there is no center of a fractal. It is а purely mathematical speculation/ But yes, beautiful/

  • @SVGuss That was my though when I saw this title... by definition a fractal is infinate therefore without a true centre no? Only the limit of your computational power. Though I must say a lovely video

  • there is no center of a fractal.

  • Great great great

Is it dedicated to the god's fathers of

    fractal geometrie Prof. Mandelbrot ?

  • This is less interesting that 2D mandelbrots , you can add dimensions and for me I guess it will become less and less watchable some random repeting stuff here and then there

  • wow - incredible - I write trance music - would you object if I used some of this as a basis for my next YT video to accompany my next track. I would obviously credit you in description. This is truly awesome! :)

  • @aroflex11 according to the vid description, the music is from youtube audioswap library. so he probably wouldn't mind, but the author could.

  • @aroflex11 Also, the track is "Stratosphere" by David O'Brien & Gareth Johnson

  • DMT-land

  • Super cool clip

  • Very Nice Video >> Top Stuff!

    Thumbs up

  • I think 569 likes for a video with 0 dislikes is a first in YouTube history. Obviously a perfect blend of video and audio.

  • The sound at 0:36 scared the shit out of me.

  • Stunning!!

  • Is it weird if this stuff gives me an erection?

  • @Maarttttt yes. yes it is.

  • @Maarttttt Not at all, actually. I was just viewing the vid "Best Fractal Zoom Ever" and I unconsciously started making moaning sounds. My friend on Skype was listening and was like, "Are you jerking off????"

  • @Maarttttt that would depend on whether you were sat naked in front of your family while watching.

  • Supreme muzic/vid + faved & Amazing upload mate:)=LOVE IT....:)))))

  • woow looks like one of my dreams O_O

  • what formula (or series of formulas for a hybrid) is this?

  • my ears are in looove..

  • Brilliant thanks ..imagine adding exotic plants and waterfalls to this..can game design use this...create a fractal and add architecture plants and water ...

  • fps/resolution/antialiasing?

I tried mandelbulber but i find it really really hard to get any result compared to mandelbulb 3d

    greetings!

  • fps/resolution/antialiasing?

    nice work

  • This is simply the BEST video I have ever seen on youtube...hands down....bar none. This is absolutely fantastic!

  • Very good video and music !!

  • soooo trippy and awesome. "Physical" representation of mathematical formulas...

  • @jasensullivan Best to you my friend ;) (and if I see or hear any "crazy" stuff I`ll let you know)..;)...Peace to you and all open minded people...

  • A VERY deep bow I make ! ;) Peace to you...and may your able hands create more.

  • i love how he shows how you can go around the center into the exact same room over and over again, i understand it ...wow.. trippy. mandelbrot set... the thumb print of god.. thats my religion

  • That's a huge spaceship

  • WOW.

And no, I don't mean the game.

  • I don't get it. What program do you make this on? Chaospro? There's no animation feature...

  • @steeveyneon, Please read video description :)

  • @xlace Hi. That totally blew me away!! Thank you for creating and sharing. I'm a newbee but am very interested in learning how to create/explore this stuff.

You said: "Animation was rendered using Mandelbulber 0.90". Is this a stand alone application? Or does it need to be run with some other program? Any special skills or knowlege/training required to create this stuff?

  • @SPLIMLETLET, This is stand alone program. Please visit sites.google.com/site/mandelbulber/home

  • @xlace Thanks

  • @steeveyneon read the description damn

  • @bubbanole91 read how long ago I posted it and how long ago someone answered it damn

  • Psychedelic, great job.

  • Wish it moved faster but still very trippy. What would i have to take to see this kind of closed eye visual?

  • @Jmsn72 Lots of Ketamine - I spent hours flying round towers and awesome structures.. That stuff is pretty mental though - you end up a drooling wreck, but it is so trippy when you close your eyes on that stuff. Nice.

  • Usually fractals take only one equation to make, but even I have to ask, is this that simple Could I get a 3D imager and just type in one equation to make something that cool?

I suppose it just looks weird from a single equation because fractals go on infinitely but also, more importantly, they go in between dimensions.

  • Usually fractals take only one equation to make, but even I have to ask, is this that simple Could I get a 3D imager and just type in one equation to make something that cool?

  • this is so awesome, and i dont even really understand what it is. time to go do some reading. thanks!

  • looks like something that would be in a science fiction movie or novel.

  • what makes these so hypnotic ?

  • Now i know what infinity looks like! thx!

  • DMT

  • Can you PLEASE publish the formula? It would be PERFECT for the people at Euclideon to demonstrate and/or test their 3d rendering method:

    unlimiteddetaltechnology[dot]com

  • well done.. definitely one of my favorites

  • The first person who'll be able to build this thing on Minecraft will be a MAD MAN ! A ****ing MAD MAN !

  • Wow, Triiiiiiiiiiiipy

How far does the rabbit hole go>> ?

  • this is better than real life.

  • what are the colors rendered based on

  • if mandelbrot had seen this, he would have died from an heart attack!

Thanks, Mandelbrot, for laying the cornerstone!

  • Jesus, I'd like to see the program that supported the creation of this D: And what criteria/parameters were used?

  • so why doesn't minecraft use this stuff to generate maps?

  • This would be the most awesome setting for a video game!

  • if anyone has done salvia and closed there eyes while positioned toward a light this is what u see.

  • if you like this surf to fractal.io ! you can explore and make fractals like these yourself in your browser !! awesomeness!
