intelligence should tell you that the average music consumer does not listen to music on $1400 Genelic's, Adam, JBL etc. most people listen on low to mid-level CONSUMER SPEAKERS!!..to me it seems very logical and wise to have a pair of cheap monitors set up for listening to your mixes. Motown did the samething with car radio speakers in the 60s..it is of the utmost impotance that your mixes transfer well to a consumer enviroment..stop hatin you sound racist and ignorant..
Yeah, at first they seem to be 1031's but at a closer look... Running such a studio with Behringer monitors is like running a Bugatti with a VW Golf engine.
@sephardimm True, but when it comes to monitors, it's much more important to just know your monitors and when something will sound properly mixed on other monitors as well.
You really can use most brands of monitors for that actually, as long as it has an overall useful frequency range.
Yeah True man, am just Wondering what the hell their doin with crapy ass speaker setup on a kick ass production base.... i mean end of the day ur not hearing the 100% quality of ur product...thery need to upgrade to some KRK's or somthing
That neko device does not have the processing power as a computer would and the expansion is limited as far as ram, hard drive, graphics card....etc
Also having a control surface with protools allows for much more efficient navigation. Studios also run consoles such as ssl or neve with pro tools. None of the big studios use this Nicko device. It is a cool idea but not worth the money.
yeah lets all buy a neko . man u dont need this expensive shit to make music. no offense i love this stuff.. but i see people on here thinking they need mad money to get started.. what you need is talent and a little spare time.
WORDS OF WISDOM! I started out with fruityloops, and nothing else, used stocksounds and shit, but I could make some hot stuff! But off course, when I got some money, I bought an mpc, some keybaords etc. But to all the producers out there! consider that hi-end gear as a good reason to keep producing! Good luck!
Agreed brother, people concern themselves with getting gear before they start making music without realizing that it's their inner creativity that drives the music.
Look at the gear as your goal, not your means to making music.
i been using stock sounds on fl too but its pissing me off. i got a axiom 61 midi keyboard, but i just dont understand how to not use stock sounds..make your own sounds? how.
If you use the Neko/meko sequencer can you still put it into protools for a protools session???? And how would a use all of my keyboards with the neko??? Do i need a mixer?? Do i need a protools interface to use protools???? someone help..
you can get pro tools built in your neko, and you can also use mimik to copy the sounds from your old keybroad, into the neko/meko, you dont need a mixer, and the protools interface would be built in the neko.
