it came from your rooster. I have 2 rooster and 2 hen with individual cage. One of the rooster lay a very small egg. It's true. A hen also can lay an egg without having sex too but they're in normal size.
jesus christ people...you have a dozen chicken as pet and then marvel at the small egg like its a damn world wonder. I own a Tyson Chicken Farm, where we have over 8,000 hen per house that gets about 2 dozens of these tiny eggs a day. This is not even a "small" one by our standard, there's some thats only the size of two finger knots that doesn't even have a yolk in it when you break them open.
@kasumoto2008 This egg came from a Banti we had a few small "exotic chickens" at the time when i made the video. Since then i have got small eggs like you said with no yolks at all. This video is from the first year we own any chickens. I find it hilarious how many comments i have gotton and how amazed people are with it though, lol thanks for the comment :)
@kasumoto2008 Wow! Why are you upset over the fact that someone took the time to share something with the world that they thought was interesting. I don't care whether you have 8,000 hens that laid 8,000 tiny eggs; you didn't take out the time to share it with us. Even though the internet has brought a lot of people together, people STILL will find a way to use it to tear people apart.
@kasumoto2008 I have a question if you don't mind. When double yoke eggs are allowed to hatch, do you get twin chicks or do the chicks not survive the incubation? Thanks!
I have a smaller one that's green. And fyi, if he would have let it live it would have died anyways, because no chicken that small can survive. Idiots who know nothing about chickens should not be posting comments on here.
That is normal, some chicken eggs don't form right in the chicken. Once I got a egg that was double its size, when I opend it, it had two yolks. Cool right? My quail lay funny eggs all the time two...
I have had really young hens lay eggs that size before they started laying average sized chicken eggs. So if you have any young hens in there, that might be the case.
The name chicken is a coined name. Chickens are domesticated fowl that come from the wild. The smaller the bird the smaller the egg. A young small bird will tend to lay a smaller egg. I had a small bird that was a game ornamental hen that was so small she could not wrap her feet around my fingers & sat just in my hand who laid very small eggs also was an excellent flight bird.
We raise hens and,On 17/09/2008 we had a full grown chicken lay an egg that is 1.9mm x 2.4mm in size. It is very likely that yes true their hens did lay the egg in question.
omg this happened to me but mine was a little smaller and i thought that a pigeon got into the coop and layed but i found out it was my chicken ...anyone know why this happens?why chickens lay small eggs?
yesterday, may 26th 2008, I found a silly little egg in our chickenhouse...and it is only 18 mm in length and 15 mm wide!! It weighs only 2ngrams...never ever in my entire life have I seen anything like it! to bad there isn't a tiny baby chick in there, it would have been like a premature baby! ;-)
The video was very interesting since I also have one too. I will try to send my video. My hen laid it on Mothers Day. It is 25mm long, 18mm wide, and weighs 7 grams.
Wow, I thought I was the only one to have such a small egg. On Mother's Day I was surprised with a tiny egg. It is about 25mm long, 18mm wide and weighs 7 grams. Do you know the actual size and weight of your egg?
i dont see why u are shouting at him for opening the egg u fools... it hasn't started incubation so it ws just a normal none incubated egg that u, I and everyone else that eat eggs would have for breakfast, lunch or even dinner ^^ so shut up fr00b nuts!
He might have grown into a hell of a big egg! (you humans dont know that eggs can grow after they have been pooped out but the lwads do). an just because he was small......you fed him to the doggers.....how sloopish of you!
Wow! Nice video. I love the size comparisons. Very arty! ;-)
My hens have never layed anything very small, even when they first started to lay. However on Xmas eve we got a huge 90 gram egg... it looked like a duck egg! I posted a video.
