  • Oh yeah, my bad, that was clearly a legitimate observation and you obviously had no ulterior motives; this one's on me.

  • who said math and science are waste of time in school???

  • challenge accepted

  • that's what i've been doing it wrong, jumping at 52 degrees at 2.5 rotations

  • the dislike bar is the size of justin biebers penis

  • @jman3001234 the fuck... this is a goddamn basketball video, take your thumbs-whoring, gay-ass to one of his videos if you wanna get thumbs...

  • @Dalaserman who the fuck said i wanted thumbs u fukin cunt

  • i suggest

    Sports Science: Superman

    Step1: Go to the Roof

    Step2: Wear a Cape

    Step3: Pants Before Brief

    Step4: Cape

    Step5: Jump

  • @Hatemeurdead Wow, that was the lamest attempt of being funny I've seen on youtube. Being superman isn't even a "sport" ...........

  • Sportscience LeBron's travel.

  • umm well why the fuck would an average be based out of 141 percent

since when has it been possible to shoot more than all of the shots

  • am i stupid or did i just get lied to with the 41% higher than the nba average line

  • @nickbiidges There's a difference between percentage, and percentage point.

He shoot 16 percentage points higher than the league average,

  • sport science shaq's freethrows

  • Comment removed

  • holy shit at 0:47 ray allens hips are near his head why does he need to jump that high

  • Omg i think im ray allen

  • BEST SHOOTER ALL_TIME

  • Sport Science: Chalmers' Shot

  • Less distance = larger margin of error?

How dare you insult all the Power Forwards and Centers... .__.

  • I would like to learn how to shoot 3 point from he

  • @SlingShotEllington45

    @bfabian2

Don't know what either of you are thinking but it is actually very simple.

Ray Allen 55%, rest of league 39%

    55/39 * 100 (to find percentage) = 141%

therefore Ray is 41% higher than the rest of the league.

  • @fattestguyout 14,1% higher actually

  • @zavulon90 can't tell if trolling or just stupid...

    141% - 100% = 41%

To make it simpler if 39 is the rest of the league and Allen is 55 - what is one and a half of 39? It is 58.5 so therefore 50% higher than rest of the league would be 58.5 and 55 is 41% more than the rest of the league.

Any more fools with the mathematical ability of an elementary school student want to say Sports Science and myself are wrong?

  • The science is the explanation of what's happening when Ray Allen takes his shot, that he practices to form to be technically correct and sound.

  • @TheDzader negros cant think

  • also he has slight OCD, so he is consistently practicing to perfect his shot

  • dont think ray allen thinks about this when he shoots......

  • i bet if ray allen watched this, he'dbe like "what the heck?" "all you do is shoot the ball!"

  • it's not all about science all the time,it's how your determination to shoot it..to become a winner!

  • 1:13

    league average 39%

    Ray allen 55 %

    =55-39=16 percent higher not 41

what the fuck is that math sportscience?

  • @SlingShotEllington45

    That's Simple Math

    39 = 100 % of the average.

    41 % of 39 = 15,99 In this case are the " 100 % " u got to deal with.

    So you have to add the 39 + 15,99 => 55 %.

  • Yes Joe, you have a larger margin of error when you shoot from a closer position. That means you can make slightly larger errors in your shot angles and get away with them moreso than when you're further away. In space travel, calculations and launch angles have to be near perfect because their margins for error are ridiculously small. Same concept.

  • less distance equal larger margin of error?

  • @JoeKickass324 Depending on where you are most consistent from.

  • I will try to increase my arch like ray have a quicker release and add more hertz to my shot.... hertz... what is that

  • SPORT SCIENCE: KWAME BROWN... Now that should be interesting...

  • ray allen has some of the least amount of backspin ive seen on a pro player's shot. barkley and pippen usually had a ton

  • Simply said Ray has the sexiest shot in the NBA- ever.

  • SPORTS SCIENCE should talk about NBA BEST PUNKERS

  • BULLSHIT Ray Allen doesn't really have a backspin, he said so himself.

  • @1WildBoar1 Observe his shoots...he does have a backspin.

  • @KawaiiNyahh nope, he may have a backspin sometimes, but not all the time.... most of his shots spin in a knuckle ball fashion

  • go celtics!!!!! or not lol

  • Lebron traveled

  • BS. It's cause he's black.

  • I played ray allens nephew in an AAU match yesterday. Blocked 3 of his shots haha

  • @SkillsOnPills32

    was it in Kansas

  • Does Ray Allen even know any of this or do you think he just finds the ideal shooting mechanics and repeats them constantly.

  • 39%+ 41% = 55%?

  • @vietpotatoguy 41 percent of 39 is 15.99. Add 15.99 to 39 and you have 55%. It's like saying 141% (55) is Ray Allen and 100% (39) is the league average.

  • Sports science: Shaq's free throws

  • Sport Science response to Shawn Marion Jump Shot.: "like the creation of the world, even with science, we would probably never know how it happens"

  • do you know ray allen has been diagnosed with obsessive compulsive disorder? thats why his jumpshot is so consistent and perfect every single time.

  • Sport Science: DJ Mbenga

  • Does Ray Allen know this facts? NO! He just shoots! lol

  • @saintmanson6 What is that a shot at his intelligence? Lol, gotta love the ignorance of the world ;).

  • Sport Science: DA WHITE MAMBA BRIAN SCALABRINE

  • Sport Science: Matt Bonner!

  • why cant people measure my 3..

  • I want to see marion´s shot on sport science. thumbs up if you wanna see this too xD

  • You know what probably goes on in his head during a game? Probably nothing. Its nature at this point in his career

  • nerd

  • So all i have to do is jump 4ft into the air at around a 46 to 50 degree angle at 2 rotations per second on my back spin to shoot like that? Easy enough....

  • the 8 guy dislike are cant shoot 3 point

  • @ak47ak47100 ever thought of taking english class?

  • @ak47ak47100 say what?

  • ok i'll try to remember all the math in a real game and pratice..

  • STOP REPLYING TO MY COMMENT ALRIGHT. PLEASE JUST STOP IT. ==

  • I hit 3s like this on a regular basis, then I turn the sliders down.

  • SPORTS SCIENCE: booing jj reddick....

  • he dont need 3 point icon, man just cant miss.

  • he cheats! his 3 point succes is 100 ;)

  • Sport Science : MARION'S SHOT!

  • @annegelo999 i dont think that is scientifficaly possible haha

  • @annegelo999 man that needs a series of sports science :D

  • how did he not talk about shot release time? ray has the shot off before he catches the ball

  • well im better

  • My shot is similar to ray allen I ask people what NBA player I remind you of everytime they say ray allen....

  • @Mraaron850 i dont think anyone cares mate

  • @Cytron36 they said the difference in percentage, so it means 141% of 39 is 55

    39 x 1.41=55..

  • Thumbs up if you see Ray Allen's Smile. :)

  • hes Jesus of course he can do anything

  • Im pretty sure the difference between 39 and 55 isn't 41...

  • Comment removed

  • @Cytron36

Its a bit confusing but the video is right. The difference is 16 percentage points but 55 is 41% greater than 39.

  • i wish SPORTS SCIENCE will talk about SHAWN MARION's JUMPSHOT ..

i already imagined what it is :))

    hahaha !

  • Great to see how he almost never fades away, perfect straight line going up for the shot. Those replays are beautiful to watch & to learn.

  • Ray Allen vs Rigge miller The winner is RAY ALLEN

  • Does he really think about ALL that when he shoots?

  • Oh. Oh God. It's so beautiful. I love watching this.

I have to watch more Ray Allen Videos to get Uncle Ray's shot down.

  • I don't give a damn. Just remember this: Don't mess with "Jesus"! Jesus of Coney Island!

  • Sports science always makes things sound harder than it is

  • anybody see dunkin donuts on 0:08

  • ray allen is just smooth, his jumper is so much like my own. not trying to brag, just stating fa t. we both got a smooth form. i can see why lebron tried to get ray allen in miami. he can shoot the lights out.

  • Ray Allen's form depends too much on snaping the wrist, releasing at the apex and shooting with a fairly flat angle. It works well for him but for most players you should rely more on arm movement and releasing the ball as you jump and that is because you use your largest muscles, to generate lots of power without straining and by doing so you can release at a higher angle and your forearm muscles/wrists only have to impart back spin.

This technique is more user friendly.

  • @Rexanglorum I have a technique.. Shoot the ball and keep shooting it that way..

  • @thehiphopdepot Repetition is crucial for developing a consistent jumper but you have to practice with a technique that feels right for a given player's body mechanics. Too many kids see a player like Ray Allen and force themselves too shoot just like him and no matter how much you practice, if a shooting technique feels forced and is uncomfortable, you will only get so good at shooting the ball.

  • @Rexanglorum no shit, thats what I said

  • @thehiphopdepot You are right that a shooter needs to put up a lot of shots but in order for those thousands or tens of thousands of repititions to be very useful, the shooter needs a technique that avoids the major errors (elbows out, unstable base, drifting, fading, leaning, shooting from the palm or allow the off hand to mess up the release) and that shooting stroke needs to be comfortable for that particular player. Once you have a suitable technique then practice will make perfect.

  • @Rexanglorum thats what i said

  • hard work man that's the answer

  • it's a bullshit, that a shooter jumps to decrease the distance to the rim. i think higher jumps just harder to defend

  • argghh ear rape

  • All the shit sports science says i bet none of the players they examine knows half the shit they talking about.

  • @MultiScienceMan lol, right.. Ray Allen probably watched this and said "I just shoot the ball", lol

  • Wow.....

  • this is my nikka right here my favorite player

  • this is my nigga right here my favorite player

  • Less distance means a larger margin of error? Hmmm... i am confused.

  • @shogrran Yes, larger margin of error means it is easier to shoot. The smaller the margin of error is the more precise the shot has to be. While a larger margin of error allows the shot to be less precise but it can still go in.

  • if you look closely at 1:34 you can clearly see that Lebron travelled

  • bet hes not thinking this when he shoots

  • did they do anything about kobe bryant

  • josh childeress

  • Bill Cartwright

  • ray allen does not need the friction....

  • Ray Allen=Aimbot

  • 1:18-1:20 Why the heck would anyone even think of going under the screen w/ Ray Allen?

  • Bullshit!!He has magical powers...

  • @2pacGoes4life even Ray Allen didn't know about the friction :D

  • i just CANT believe that in 2k11,the '3' icon is not beside Allen's name.

Another thing i CANT believe is that Paul Pierce actually got the '3' icon just because he won the three point contest by luck.

  • @nooobiechild he doesn't have a star?

  • @Jimk99Productions No sir,Allen has NOTHING beside his name. That's just disrespectful to Allen.

  • @nooobiechild yeah well, i'm pretty sure he has the best 3 in the game anyway

  • @nooobiechild by luck??? please shut up, in nba 2k11 with Pierce is impossible to hit three because his shooting form...

  • @nooobiechild they didn't base their ability on the 3 pt contest, ray might have a 36% 3 pt percentage during that season but the rate where he shot those threes is what they gave him, paul pierce made his shots at a much higher percentage and at almost the same rate as ray's 3 pt attempts

  • @1amlegend11 I see. Thanks for the info.

  • @nooobiechild he really doesnt need the sign by his name

  • @nooobiechild by luck??

  • @nooobiechild Pierce is one of the best 3 point shooters in the league. I hardly think it was by luck.

  • @nooobiechild isnt 2k12 out now...... just sayin.....

  • @nooobiechild The icons in 2k games dont really influence things...Ray doesnt miss in that game and Paul misses more often :p

  • @Mycrosss U are right,i have a hard time figuring out the perfect release for paul pierce.

  • @nooobiechild Yeah,it's weird,sometimes he jumps and does a normal jumper,and sometimes he doesnt x)

  • Press 9 to see shaq's shooting form

  • ray allen=aim bot

  • they should have gone through his foot work. his drop step is the same every single time and is impossible to guard because he creates enough space to get his shot off

  • press 3 to hear it splash

  • shit i need a compass while i play now.. but seriously the only thing i really learned from this vid was releasing at apex. i usually do this but i do not pay enough attention to it

  • Comment removed

  • @gohavesomepie Dude, it's 16/39 x 100%. 41% is right.

  • @imcool1347

@sena94cro 0:46 the video said that the shorter the distance to the hoop, the LARGER the margin of error. i was simply stating that the following statement did not make any sense, and they clearly should have said instead that the closer the distance, there should be a SMALLER margin or error. but yeah, regardless of the science involved, Ray Allen is a beast, and will always be a lights out shooter.

  • @raskoolz he actually said less distance equals larger margin of error 0:53

  • larger margin of error. he could be off by an inch to the right and still make the shot. that's what it mean't. the angle makes the shot more accurate as the rim IS parallel to the ground. you don't have to shoot straight to the rim, you shoot through the rim.

  • im sure Ray Allen does not even think about all that science bs :p hes a deadly 3 point shooter.. he already knows its AUTOMATIC

  • Comment removed

  • @raskoolz

not logic fail the you fail

by your logic the layup is most difficult shoot becouse is closest to the hoop -.-

  • @raskoolz retard

  • every ray allen shot looks like its going in. even if it misses.

  • omfg...lebron travelled is a top comment???? what is wrong with you people????

  • Again how could u dislike this?

  • wtf is that bball or fucking rocket science...

  • @spechtbert physics.

  • Sorry to all who show good sportmanship...but...

*injure himmmmmm*.... It's the only way....

  • LOL i dont get what this guy is saying.... ROFL fucking couche announcer

  • i bet when Ray Allen sleeps at night, he plugs in his positronic brain located at the back of his head, cuz he's a calculating machine

  • I cant wait until he retires just so I can watch his HoF Induction

  • wtf less distance = larger margin of error....???

  • @Mriliketofu yea. larger margin of error means you have a smaller chance of making a mistake because of it. like aiming at a target thats large compared to a small one. you might make a mistake and still hit the big one but the slightest mistake and you miss the small one.

  • @manchester4ever7 so your basically saying that when they say larger margin of erroe it means allen can shoot and afford to make a bit of a mistake and still hit? cuz in my mind a large margin of error means more room to make errors in =\

  • @Mriliketofu thats the same thing...

    Afford to make a mistake

    more room for errors
