He may also be thinking in a pragmatic way that if they like that movie, maybe the next movie they'll go out and buy a ticket, or that word of mouth spreads and someone, maybe not the original viewer buys the movie. If one viewer doesn't buy it but down the line, two people along the chain do, the filmmakers still come out ahead.
as long as someone doesn't make a profit off of your labor? that's the point of a job dumb fuck.. you make money not just for yourself but for the corporation..
I agree too. Copyright law is the craziest and silliest law in a way. U don't want people to share your art? U get free promotion! Ofcourse u loose money by sharing but then again those people might not even want to buy it, just watch it or listen to it once. The only thing that's not right is actually selling other one's art not sharing it. But this mostly is common with graphic/visual art only.
I also for the first time, agree with Michael. I have had situations where people have used my copyright work without paying me and I was not bothered by it since it was not done to steal money from me. Good video.
Right on, Tomas jefferson said "Whenever the people are well-informed, they can be trusted with their own government" this is same, people will still pay if they are a fan, if they like what they see and have repect for the artist. Moore is right you have to spread the word any which way you can and trust people to be sensible.
He's absolutely right, a friend that lends a purchased DVD to another, that's okay, and always ways, but when u download it, suddenly it's crime, but in an esense, it's the same thing.
technicaly, no. he's not right. when it was just a dvd, you would watch the dvd and give it back (or knowingly make an ilegal copy) But when it's downloaded, weather put to dvd, or left on the hard drive, there is a second Phisical copy of the movie that the owner hasn't been compensated for.
no one ever went into an uproar when people recorded things to vhs. That was ok. This is just another format. the only difference is it's being done over the internet. it was always illegal. it's just that when it's done in high numbers then people start caring. i'm personally glad people are sharing these files. these companies have enough money and are charging you out the nose for a piece of 2 dollar at the most plastic and poor people are buying them.
If there was no file sharing on the internet, dvd or music cd prices would be much and much higher I think. so its also good for the ones who dont download files illegally.
The copyright holder wouldn't know one damn difference between 1 person watching their movie and 1 million, he just wants the money, the more the better. They think they are entitled to millions of dollars for a few weeks of work. Guess what, I make 2k every few weeks.
These crybabies whining about how they are losing so and so much amount of money (which is impossible to accurately claim) out of the millions they have and are already making 'because of people sharing' really come off as selfish and greedy douchebags.

SiCKO is incredible by the way. Anybody who opposes Mr. Moore is corrupt and is trying to spread disinformation to keep money going to a few greedy pockets. Michael actually cares about the modern world. Watch SiCKO as soon as you can.
MM is a saint! Thanks, Mike, for a great movie and giving the USA a wake up call. I loved Fahrenheit 911, but this is a masterprice. Good luck, good buddy. You deserve an Oscar!!!!!!
this video is stupid
