I've wanted to go to Japan since I was probably 15 or 16 (after I first got interested in anime). The Japan Channel (here on YT) is AWESOME for newbies who wanna learn all about Japan in a short amount of time. The guy makes plenty of fairly-short videos almost daily documenting actual Japanese life and talking about it from his own experience having lived there for at least a few years.
