If you are a True Tool fan then you will own this cd (Aenima) back in 96 when it came out, for those that don't know take the cd out and look at the map of the western Usa on the inside back, now tilt and and move it around and you will see most of California disappear and just a sliver of it left with a big bay in-between, Hence, the "Arizona Bay" reference ....yes it's a jab at California, but in the bigger picture, it's Tool's take on fake insecure(Look at Me) people in general. Hicks ranted about many of the things that are going on today in our country. He was censored out of existence in the US, but praised in the UK due to the suppression of any anti-government views that have truth. It is unfortunate that he died of cancer in 1994. Lateralus is about life and the Fibonacci sequence, Eulogy is about God's promise to all people that believe, and Ænema is about how people fear California will fall under sea level due to global warming, Triad making it seem silence is part of music. The problem with this song is that Arizona Bay will likely never exist. The San Andreas fault is moving in a right-lateral strike-slip horizontal motion. So LA will eventually pass San Francisco but will not be falling into the ocean until it reaches the Aleutian Islands in about 50 Million years. Tidal waves are also unlikely because of the lack of a subduction fault off the coast.

That being said, I love the song, and being an LA resident and I know exactly what Maynard is talking about.
