I think the Leslie West version is way better. His voice just has so much passion. I still fuckin love Bonamassa though. they both encompass the true spirit of blues like no one else today...BLUES FOR LIFE
"Leslie West and Joe Bonamassa recorded Warren Haynes' "If Heartaches Were Nickels" together. West released it on Guitarded (2005), and Bonamassa on A New Day Yesterday (2000)."
It is Joe singing the first verse, then Leslie. They also share leads. And that's Greg Allman on keyboards and sings a little around 2:45 and 7:20 into the song. My best friend talked to Joe about this version at the Fargo Blues Festival last year. Joe smiled and said Leslie released his recording first (for GUITARDED) and Joe released a somewhat milder version on a later album of his own. Joe was said it was OK for Leslie to do; he was paying him respect.
Yes, there are bouth of them. First sings Joe, than sings Leslie. Bouth are great, I like Leslie very much and Mountain. Peace brother. But solo is Joe most of the time. Btw you can see me on you tube, search for 'HEY JOE JOKER ', and maybe I know a little...
Leslie is one of the greatest guitar players ever. I love his sound since Woodstock (Mountain) and he is still up to date and the most inovative guy, in my opinion. The guitar solo in this song is incredible. Terrific!!!!!
Joe Bonamassa + Leslie West with a little Greg Allman for good measure = beyond erotic

No lopez you are incorrect. This is Leslie West. The 2 often get confused fora reason Ive yet to figure.
Far better guitar than Joe B. It's not even close.
