We adopted her from the Humane Society. She was abandoned there and we got a call out of the blue about her from the Humane Society so we adopted her 9 years ago. lucky us. (now we have 2 dogs...) So, you can always find an adorable loving dog at your local shelter. When we visited the shelter, we saw many breeds! from miniture dogs to very large, purebred and mutts, and every kind of dog. good luck!
