  • I"m so baked right now

  • My mind was just dominated

  • Once you fall in...

  • Thus: The invention of the Self-Sphinctering Intestinal Manifold. It has the dubious characteristic of being able to Suck and Blow Simultaneously.

  • While I understand the concept. Inside and outside are perceptive ideas the mind uses to rationalize the world. So there is truly only one side of the object it still has an inside and outside.

  • i'd love to smoke weed out of this

  • @Twiztified LOL

  • Cool.

  • A Secret World made visible! Nice :)

  • That's a nice bottle to store booze on.

  • AHHHHH PARADOX!!!

  • may i drink from this bottle?

  • Comment removed

  • holy shit! i actually understand that!

  • My Brain is smoking !!!!!!!!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh

  • BOTHMER, my friend, you ignore all of these idiots that DO NOT understand the mathematics that you displayed. Baby, you did a nice thing by trying to enlighten them.

I'm more than a little turned on by this.

  • If there were ever a vid that exposes the total lack of imagination of the average YouTube dummy, this is it.

  • that was dumb

  • what the fuck.

WHY AM I WATCHING THIS NERD SHIT

  • whaa... but... MINDDDDFUCKKKK

  • So it's a mobius strip? I'm so... ughhhhh

  • this is why nerds need to get laid too, also, i want one made of blue glass.

  • MIND FU CK

  • is this patched yet?

  • @razerburst this comment made my day. Thank you so much bro! :D:D:D

  • @Gurkensalsa Np :)

  • @razerburst Thanks for the laugh.

  • @razerburst u made my day, xD!

  • LoL :D

  • Лента Мёбиуса получилась, что ли?

  • When god created the universe he made everything safe from paradoxes. Apparently he forgot one.

    "Existence : Beta 1.0"

  • the graphic technology these days is amazing

  • It's a trap!

Seriously though, you'll be stuck. :/

  • like this if stick rpg 2 told u 2 google this

  • This is amazing because it's theoritically and mathematically impossible... Yet, here it is.

  • ive seen enough henti to see where this is going...

  • It's basically a 3D Mobius strip.

  • I've once read a comic about a planet in this shape where two people where sitting on a campfire. In the distance on their right side one of the guys saw what he thought was another campfire and desided to go their.

So he walked to it but arived at the same campfire as he has left, frmo the left side, where his friend was still sitting. Very bizar. Was it indeed the Keine Bottle?

  • @chadd990 Klein Bottle is not impossible in 4D, but it is in 3D because you get that self intersection which shouldn't be there.

  • @chadd990 The surface penetrates itself, a phenomenon which can only be observed in theoretical physics and mathematics.

  • @chadd990 Ok so think about it this way... You see at the beginning how its like a normal cylinder with and inside and an outside? Well go to the part when 1 end intersects with the side of the cylinder, and then starts to fold outwards. Why's it impossible? By folding the inside of the end outward, the shape loses both the inside and the outside... so to answer your question bluntly... its impossible because THERE IS NO SPOON (jk its impossible because there is no outside or inside)

  • @chadd990 It is the 3D shadow of a 4D object.

  • @CuttlefishPi

oh. thank you. people keep replying to me trying to explain it, but your explanation is simple and to the point. seeing as how my question is the top rated comment, I guess I should delete it, so people don't feel obligated to answer it anymore. thanks.

but one more question, since its 4d, doesn't that technically mean that it is possible in another dimension?

  • @chadd990 Think of the shape of a cube drawn on paper, lines on the paper cross each other in a 2D state where the same lines in a 3D state do not. In the same way where the bottle intersects itself it theoretically would not in a 4D state. So simply put, we can not conceive the actual topology from our current perspective.

  • @CuttlefishPi

right, yeah I seen the carl sagan video on that. So when you told me that, I instantly knew what you were talking about. that makes so much more sense that other explanations.

  • at : 44 there is no hole where the tube should be at. this shits broke

  • yes you can make this in real life WOW...

  • the bottle passes inside itself, not possible. once theres a hole in it its void

  • @plowmaster1206 What you're viewing is basically its shadow. That part where it intersects an actual Klein bottle goes "around" the wall there through the fourth dimension. Duh.

  • @plowmaster1206 Not possible? People make them all the time to use for vases...

  • @brainiac554 a klein bottle vase isnt actually a klien bottle. the thing that keeps it from being a ligit klein bottle is in a real one the part where the bottom goes through the side isnt there which is impossible to make in 3d so this is the closest thing to a 2 demensional object there can be

  • Forgive me to sound stupid, but is this a physically possible shape?

  • @PatchCornAdams722 No,it isn't possible in our 3 dimensional world. It's just thought to be theoretically possible.

  • THAT WOULD BE A PRETTY FUCKED UP TAPE WORM

  • i think,that a klein bottle,has no inside,or outside,or i'm terribly confused :S

  • whats the use of it

  • @HomebrewGuru drugs

  • mobius strip? or however you spell it...

  • I was just going to ask, can you smoke out of it?

  • how to fill it???

  • I see the bong in the picture. But if I smoke this bong, will I get caught up in an endless loop?

  • okay, which one of you buggers divided by zero?!

  • Now load that bowl, hit that shit and don't forget it's puff, puff, pass!

  • HA! I just learned how to turn a sphere inside out before watching this vid and I feel smart. :)

  • I like this thing, its like a hallway that turns into a room that is in another room which leads to a hallway which turns into a room that is in another room which leads to the very same hallway that turns into the room that is in the other room containing the very hallway that leads to the smaller room in the bigger room.

  • it turns into a mobius strip! I never noticed!

  • Would this have zero volume?

  • @Nvidiaguides Depends on what you mean by volume. It's an open object so things could freely go in and making it essentially have "No volume", but that doesn't mean it couldn't hold stuff in it.

  • This WOULD hold water like a no spill spit cup. It only has one entrance n one exit......

  • it would go from the neck and go from the small tube and inside itself finally touching the neck of the klein bottle

  • so what would happen if you tried to fill it with water at 0:38 ? lol

  • Technically, there is no inside or outside. It is all ONE SIDE. There should be no intersection, and theoretically the bottle would stretch forever...I still can't believe I figured this out.

  • I could imagine a process for creating a Klein bottle sculpture in a glass shop...Blow out a glass sphere, heat and stretch it, open one end then bring the other end of the stretched sphere around and push through the outer wall, following a path similar to what we saw in the movie. Take the outer curve of the open end, bend it back, and fuse it to the tube we just pulled through.

It would NOT be a true Klein bottle, but it'd still look cool. Now for the real challenge...a Klein Lava Lamp!

  • wait... WHAT?

  • Man, Klein must have a seriously soaked floor - how does the guy keep anything liquid in his house? At least his maid makes a lot of money. He probably can't get flood insurance, though.

  • my brain hurts....

  • I prefer that my bottles actually hold things; solids, liquids. Kind of seems to be the point.

  • so.. it's a three dimensional mobius strip?

  • i can do the same thing with my dick

  • The Klein bottle is a badly designed coffee mug.Too hard to clean.

  • @busplunger It also doesn't hold any coffee!

  • like a moebius string

when does inside start and outside end

  • The amazing thing would be to show 4 dimensions in this video! (grin)

The Klein bottle is a 2-dimensional surface embedded in 4-dimensional space.

The common 3-dim representation of the Klein bottle that we see here in this video is just to help our visualization, which cannot extend beyond 3 physical dimensions.

  • i dont see whats so impressive

  • Thank you! This will make my first attempt at knitting a Klein bottle hat a lot more successful than my first Mobius cast-on! :/

  • sure, theoretical bottle. but the REAL question is: will it blend?

  • And the practical application of this is what?

  • @johndragon7666 This is the math model that a physicist would play with trying to figure out how to make a wormhole in space. Then we go visit Alpha Centuri. :)

  • I wish i had a house like this... that way i could walk around the rest of the world and still be like "get the hell out mah house!" lol

  • Poincaré conjecture

  • Looks like a tapeworm.

  • sooo does this get you hella high or what?

  • Relates to time-travel and travelling to extra dimensions.

  • i want a cup that looks like this...

  • this.... is so crazy... i kinda get it though

  • I'm seeing potential in a new awesome beerglass design here

  • whats the point of that shit

  • @frootloopsfan What's the point of topology and mathematics? Oh yeah, the entire modern world...

  • @GilliganBlackout Exactly. It's like someone asking "what's the point of imaginary numbers if they don't really exist?" totally ignorant of the fact that many areas of electrical engineering are impossible without them.

  • To those of us who don't understand, think of it as a pretty screen saver for a windows 98 computer.

  • Lol

  • *head explodes*

  • Gah, that's so frustrating, I just wanted to untwist that rubberband at the end.

  • so it's essentially a 3d mobius strip?

  • FFFFUUUUUUU

  • If I put a circular door on my house and rounded out the edges, I could also move from outside to inside without crossing an edge. I don't see what's so amazing about though.

  • @john17972: Consider the surface of the walls of your house. You would have a difficult time passing from the outside of your walls to the inside of your walls (where the bricks are) without crossing the surface of your walls. If the surface of your walls has the shape of a klein Bottle this would be possible & amazing.

  • @bothmer I would like to add a better example imagine if your house had no doors, then you wouldn't be able to get ot the inside from the outside. Unless your house was a klein bottle house.

  • @bothmer Hi!

  • @bothmer For a closed hollow container in a 3 dimensional universe the concept of inside and out side is universal .The bottle you show here is not closed at all it is open the concept of inside and out side does not apply beside with the example of the wall it should not be hollow plus you do cross an arced edge were the tubes intersect. You can move in to a closed milk bottle from the 4 th dimension easily.

  • why can't you make a real one?

  • @Coke825Connieg

Because it requires four dimensions. We are three dimensional.

We can make a three dimensional representation of a Klein Bottle but not a true one.

    It is very confusing stuff.

  • Wow! Thank you for uploading this!

  • 4d object !

  • i quote George W. Bush:

"You just blew my fuckin mind..."

  • I don't know why my dick feels painful watching this.

  • So the inside is the outside? And the outside is the inside?

WHAT KINDA FUCKING UNIVERSE DO WE LIVE IN????!!!!!11!!!!oneoneeleven

  • A round-edged box with no lid is the same thing. Trace ur finger round it, it'll come back.

  • lol, why was i thinking, "that would make a great bong!!"

  • @Marzz5585: When I saw this video, I was thinking the same thing!

  • @Marzz5585 Along with a mobius joint

  • @Marzz5585 lol, probably because you are a stoner.

  • @Somarinoa hahaa you say that like its a bad thing!

  • I heard that it has no volume.

can't you fill the hole with water?

  • @MantaxTheDude in this universe yes as we only have 3 spacial dimensions but if we had 4...then no

  • @MantaxTheDude No, because you cannot beleave your eyes in math.

The sides of the Klein Bottle do NOT intersect. They just dont.

Sadly, we cannot draw a picture of it in three dimensions without intersecting its sides.

Or as others have put it: The inside is also its outside.

  • Dude, THANK YOU for doing this. Half an hour of pull-you-hair-out frustration was brought to an end thanks to you taking the time and effort!

  • goood elastration.....

  • claro es unidimencional

  • when it was no longer tubular, my first thought was "Möbius Strip!"

  • Want

  • Oh...I've seen that before, it's just a vagina, right?

  • Mobius Strip HELLO!

  • ollǝɥ

  • what they aren't explaining is that the end has to poke through the side WITHOUT MAKING A HOLE IN THE SIDE, i.e., through the fourth dimension. it's the same as a moebius strip, which is a two dimensional surface, where the two sides change position through the third dimension, which the little critters living on the surface could never visualize. in fact, if you take a moebius strip and curl it over and glue its edge to itself, you get a klein bottle. but you can't do it in three dimensions.

  • so can you fill these bottles or not?

  • @Wittgensteinism It's called a 'bottle' through a mistranslation that has stuck. Named after Felix Klein, it was called the klein Flache (Kleine surface), this was misinterpreted as Klein Flasche (Kleine bottle). So try not to think of it as a bottle, rather as a 3D surface moving in 4 dimensions.

  • @wazzmastermax Thanks for completely ignoring my question with irrelevant information.

I really don't care who made it or whether it technically counts as a "bottle" under your strick definition of the word.

All i'm freakin askin is if you can fill it, whatever you want to call it.

    So Mr. Kleine-Bottle expert---can it?

  • @Wittgensteinism It's hard to fill an empty vessel that's already full of sh*t, hint - I'm not referring to the 'bottle' in this instance.

Yet another 'YouTube tough guy'... *Sigh*

  • @wazzmastermax lol, tough guy?

no, just annoyed that someone comments back to me with everything except an answer to what i asked about...

ok.. well i'm talking about klein bottles; the ones you can buy. Can they or can they not be filled?

I assume the answer is yes anyway, but wanted to ask to make sure

  • @Wittgensteinism Okay, well the ones you can buy can probably be filled to an extent as they have an opening at the top leading to an enclosed space. They would soon empty though, unless you had some kind of stand to balance them on. It's all moot though, as the 4D version could not be filled... I think...?

  • @wazzmastermax

There is no gott-dang thing such as a 4th dimension.

  • @feloniousbutterfly haha, well that's debatable but I like your passion. Einstein would say that time is the 4th dimension but I know in this case we are talking about physical dimensions. I think there are 4 and more in my opinion but I admit, my brain can't get round imagining them, even with graphics on youtube to help out.

  • 3d mobius strip

  • My teacher owns a glass one it realy cool

  • hanover fist fractile

    /watch?v=zJAn3cTMXW8&feature=related

  • How is this so impossible, It looks like it could be done.

  • Assuming the tuBe is hollow, when the Bottle is solid if you poured water in the top it would just collect in the rest of the Bottle. It's only when its turned inside out that it appears to Be an infinite loop. I think it must Be something to do with how they show it to you Being turned inside out. Or mayBe I'm just stoned an thats not what it's meant to Be showing.

  • Comment removed

  • if you were to put a liquid inside and tilt it away from it's original entrance, it would just go deeper into the bottle. to get the liquid out, you just have to tilt it and the liquid would come out of the " top".

  • @xyzMitchellzyx This is not an actual bottle. In fact, the German word for "surface" is almost identical to that for "bottle", so that is why... but I do like "bottle" more.

I think that 4-d liquids would be more interesting than 4-d geometry, but we can literally never see it anyway... oh well... dear gods I'm boring! :)

  • What happens if you try to fill it?

  • @devourerofbabies that is impossible

the klein bottle can't physically exist in our 3d universe

  • @SHExxLIKESxxBARINAS Okay, so what would happen if you tried to fill it in a 4d universe?

  • @devourerofbabies it cannot be filled because it has no inside or outside

  • @SHExxLIKESxxBARINAS

But there's a hole in the top and a tube! It must be capable of holding liquid in a certain part of it. This thing makes my head hurt

  • @devourerofbabies freezing it at 24 seconds if you imagine yourself pouring liquid into the top of the tube and trace it down it's path it appears it could hold liquid in the bottom which is really the top if you see what I'm saying. Just follow the liquids path from 24 seconds in your minds eye and you'll get it.

  • i never got whats the point with this bottle

  • @adirm18 maybe it gets converted to a mobius strip

  • I thought the original Klein bottle could not be filled nor emptied...

  • Pouring water in would just fill up the inner chamber.. you can fill it up and drink from it like any normal glass.. except that it looks weird and wouldn't spill as easily. 0:23 shows this clearly, right before it seals itself

  • can you gauss it?

  • can you gauss it?

  • INFINITE DRINK

  • I was wondering how the hell will you clean it out? And would it be dishwasher safe?

I would love to have one of these in clear glass.

  • "Your inside it out, and your outside is in. Your outside in is, and your inside is out, so come on. Come on, it's such a joy".

I couldn't help but hear "Everybody's Got Something to Hide (Except for me and my Monkey)" when I saw this.

  • OMfucking G

  • Interesting how the video 'best sex ever' is in the related section...

  • so if its a bottle.. how do you drink from it....

  • I like that the bottle resembles a 3D mobius strip.

  • so what happens when you pour a liquid into it?

  • @seanbturner u get drunk ;-)

  • @seanbturner Is it that hard to understand? It would just stop at the inside lip of the entrance.
