I was kind of curious how you can hear audio from the sampler when nothing is plugged into the outputs? Especially since it doesn't have a built-in speaker...
@lancerambert Damn, you caught me! It must be fake. Especially since there's a headphone output on the front of the machine where you can clearly see a black chord coming from...
i also have a 404sx, about a month. needful thing, seems like its just a waste of money.
okay, just wanted to ask, how to get my beats out of this box? output signal straight to cubase? (on my mc-909, i need to resample the pattern to get a wav.)
@roboedar thanks man! The effects are definitely what had me sold on the sp. I've had it for I guess about 8 months now, but when I made this video I had only been using it for about 2 weeks.
@wantmohr ahhh niice. i had an mpc 1000 before but sold it. started using ableton and still do- really great software. although now i really want a piece of hardware to learn. something i could just turn on and start making beats with. gonna grab the 404sx in a couple weeks.
@roboedar yeah I got into ableton awhile ago to and you're right, it's such an awesome and powerful piece of software (also got a launchpad a few months ago which is perfect for live ableton use). I've also wanted an mpc for a long time but have never been able to afford one.. oh well. But yeah I'd definitely recommend the sp, it's a completely different machine from an mpc but from the sounds of your technological background you'll find your way around it just fine
@DJ4000VOLT yup it comes with a power adapter but can also run on 6 AA batteries, I don't even think I've had to change them since I made this video ha so they actually last quite a long time
@wantmohr oh thats hella kool i gotta akai xr 20 it runs off of 6 AAs if ur on tha move and they last like 2 hours ahahaaha so i just use tha power cord
@AndyTabelz unfortunately no, you can kind of play around with the effects but nothing precise. I do all my speed/pitch edits and chops on the computer (I usually use logic) and then transfer them to the sampler
@ilovedylanross yeah you can definitely do that, it's obviously not as in depth as say an mpc but once you get the hang of it it's fairly easy to do. If you have the ability to pick one up I'd say go for it for sure! I've been in love with mine since day one and still use it everyday
THE ROLAND AND BOSS SAMPLERS, VERY SIMPLE AND FUN.

@wantmohr or if anybody dont have a Mac you can use "Melodyne 3" to change the Tempo (without changing the pitch) btw nice Track :)

@wantmohr i have the ability to pick one of these up. i think I might.
As far as I know, cant you apply an effect/pitch to a certain sample, and resample to an seperate pad, then bounce it back to your desired pad?
