im 14 and i have been playing the violin for 7 years the girl is talking a lot of sh*t about balance points basically make sure the bow is not over tight for playing and loosen the bow after playing and try not to touch the horse hair.

WHAT does this have to do with picking strings????? Bow hair is called bow hair, not bow strings. Strings go on the violin, not the bow. You didn't describe how to determine the proper tightness at all. Ridiculous
