  • I have a question. About 6:50 in, that whole thing on the 3rd string. Am I correct in thinking it's 9th fret, 7th fret, 6th fret, 7th fret? If so, why is the last note using the ring finger and not the middle?

  • Thanks for the tutorial Warren!

  • You should do (nice dream)

  • Thank you

  • Thank You dude! You're the best!!! (from Brazil)

  • thanks, warren.) i've known about this tutorial for half a year but only now i start to learn your version of playing, because own, very simple with standart tuning i made due in 2 minutes

  • what kind of pics do you use?

  • is it 6+7 3rd and 4th , 7+8 3rd and 4th, then 6+7 3rd and 4th twice? I know I am being dense, but it just dosnee sound right! thanks x

  • @ceridawn What part are you referring to, my dear?

  • @warrenmusic the second section, the next bit after the intro, its really simple, Im just not getting it/understanding you/ making the same noise....

  • @warrenmusic oooooooh x07700, that is the one I just couldnee get, what can I say, Im a slow learner and i think you sang that part and I couldnt make out what you were saying, thank you for helping me dear, I will be sure to bug you with stupid questions in the near future x

  • @ceridawn You've got the second chord revered (you write "7+8 3rd and 4th"). It's actually 7th fret of the 4th string, 8th fret of the 3rd string there. The third chord (you write "6+7 3rd and 4th") you press the 7th fret of the 4th string and 3rd string. The verse in tab form now: first chord - x07600, second chord - x07800, third chord - x07700. I thought it was clear in the video though, no? Anyway, hope that was helpful, dear.

  • welcome back to my bedroom dear! x

  • @ceridawn But you didn't even buy me a drink yet!

  • @warrenmusic hehe! ;)

  • thanks!

  • hey Warren great tutorial thank you!:) But please could you tell me what notes are you hitting on the 6:30 part onwards. You say 9th fret of the 3rd string and then what?:) I coudnt quite figure it out:)

  • @1malandrino1

    9 7 6 7 then 7th on the 4th string 6th on the 3rd i think

  • Thank you very much, Warren! You're the best tutor in the YouTube :)

  • @warrenmusic is this the version he played solo at Coachella?

  • @deandave24 This is based off the acoustic version as seen here - watch?v=0cOEP2jc4qc

  • @warrenmusic sorry to inconvenience you, but that link you gave said "This video is no longer available because the YouTube account associated with this video has been terminated due to multiple third-party notifications of copyright infringement." is there another link available please?

  • @deandave24 Try searching "Radiohead Airbag Acoustic" and sift through them. Thom played this version of it by himself numerous times last year on tour.

  • @warrenmusic ok thank you dude! and by the way, your tutorials are the best!

  • aha explaining the 2nd string tuning through song

i'd go gay for you, sir. and i'd stay gay

  • @OpticalFunkllusions This wins my comment of the day award.

  • Great video thanks!

  • Sorry to be a pain Warren but could you or someone else please spell out the 2nd 2 finger chord in the verse @05.30. just sounds a bit odd, or is it just me!? great tutorials bro.

  • Dude. Why are you the fucking man?

  • thank you so much for all the youtube tutes man, you're an excellent teacher! keep it up!

  • i believe that the chord at 5:08 (with the a tuned b string) is

    x

    0

    2

    2

    2

    0

  • @futurfry That would create an Amajadd2no3, which is not the chord I hear Thom using in the solo version. Can't say the same for the album version, but then again that version doesn't even use acoustic tuned this way.

  • @warrenmusic if it makes a difference, i put that tab upside down heh sorry

  • @futurfry I analyzed it from top to bottom, 6th to 1st.

  • @warrenmusic well, thanks for the tutorial! Im going to play this and Bodysnatchers at my recital

  • you are just awesome man

  • Warren-- you are like a musical chemist, breaking it all down and showing us the formula. Thanks for the best tutorial on YouTube of Airbag. It is one of my all time favorite songs and I think even Thom would be impressed by your ear for his masterpieces.

I am buying all of the songs you cover, so you are making him more $.

You should at the very least get a backstage pass for promoting Radiohead's music.

Thanks for bringing a ton of enjoyment back into my guitar sessions.

  • Hey Warren we would love 15step!!!!!! YOU ARE AWESOME PERSON!!! THANKS!!

  • Hi Warren, I am having trouble with one part of the song and was hoping you could help. At about minute 6:38, I am not sure what frets/strings you're hitting and what fingers you are using on each fret/string. I just need the help with the one portion between 6:38 and 7:01. I know it might be tough to explain via typed message so no big deal if you can't get to it.

Thanks so much for this post and others! I am a big radiohead fan so your tutorials have really brought me lots of good times.

  • @Sophomoreable Hmm, I go over it on the video. You can't hear me explain the fingers/frets? Use your ring finger on the 9th fret 3rd string, index on the 7th fret same string, index again on the 6th fret same string, ring finger this time on the 7th fret same string, back to the index on the 6th fret same string, add the middle finger on the 7th fret 4th string and strum the chord away.

  • @warrenmusic No, I can hear it and the explanation IS clear. I was somehow convinced that there was a hammer-on in there (even though you clearly never mention a hammer-on) and I couldn't quite figure it out. Now that you typed it and I listen again, your explanation is clear. Thanks so much for your help! I appreciate it!

  • A beautiful tutorial. A beautiful song. A beautiful man.

    Thank you so much.

  • I've been having trouble crossing my middle finger over to the 7th fret of the 6th string in the intro, when it moves from the 8th fret to the 7th. Just a tip for anyone, I noticed Thom uses his thumb to hit that 7th fret on a different version than the one Warren based his lesson/cover off of and I find that much easier.

  • @Conacostock Good observation. Yeah, forgot to mention Thom uses his thumb for that. The neck on my Carter Poulsen is a little meatier so that makes it hard for me to use the thumb without losing the 1E string or failing to mute the 5A. A matter of preference/ergonomics, so to each his own.

  • Love this song, but I find it very hard to get my thumb around the neck in some of the cords. Guess Its all about practice :D

  • @Joormode You can use your index; although yes, if your thumb can do it with some effort, practice it until it becomes natural. Many chord shapes will open up to you if you employ your thumb...

  • Maybe you could do "High and Dry" next

  • Go to Sleep is pretty easy as well...2+2=5 would be a nice tutorial for Warren's talent

  • 15 Step is too easy and it isn't hard to find fairly accurate tabs of such a simple song on a guitar tabs website. Then again with a song that easy, Warren could probably dish out a tutorial on it in no time just for the hell of it. Anyway, I'm thinkin more along the lines of Go To Sleep. You're still my youtube hero, Warren!

  • WARREN!!!!!! PLEASE DO 15 STEP!!! I LOVE YOU

  • Thank you so much for the tutorial, excellent job as always.

  • Thanks Warren, I love you!

  • Fantastic! thanks warren buddy! another track to add to my collection of radiohead songs i can play thanks to you.

  • love u men ;) thanks a lot a lot a lot... i'm mean i'm been playing this song whith my version, and i wasn't so bad.. but no, thanks to you, it's just perfect :) Really thanks a lot

  • great job man i really wanted to learn it we love u work tnx warren

  • Good shit Warren

  • Really love what your doing brother. Keep up the good work!

  • I got mine figured out after seeing the performance at the Les Eurockeennes de Belfort in 97 but I never figured out the tuning until I saw the acoustic version recently. Such an exciting song to play. Great job as always, Warren!

  • Sweet! Thanks, now I can learn the full acoustic version!

  • FIRST!
