@Ukuleleboy100 - "apples and oranges" is code for ... how can you say one is better than the other? As a former professional jazz piano player, I think Cullum's piano playing is better than Minchin's -- that's just my opinion... am I allowed to have an opinion? Yes, they are both piano players and vocalists, but I find it hard to compare them with each other. Apples and oranges are both fruit, but they don't look alike or taste alike, so saying one is better than the other doesn't make sense.
@johnbresnik oh for god's sake, i knew what you were on about, i was just making a light harted joke that hopefully wouldn't up in some lame youtube argument.
@Ukuleleboy100 -- that should have said "I'm a little slow"... I see you're in England -- I'm in California and we have a daughter in London (Kent area), so we get over there now and then..., I love England... so much history and great architecture (something we don't have here in the San Diego area). Love the rain and grey skies... again, something we don't see very often around here.
I've been playing jazz piano for 60 years and I can tell you -- that Jamie Cullum is an amazing player.
@johnbresnik Oh right cool. I love jazz, wish i could play the piano! Yeah, i know he's amazing, I live in the county next to where Cullum's Dad lives!
@Ukuleleboy100 - cool... we might be spending some time there next year -- send me your email address and we'll take this conversation to a private place. I have some questions for you... John (jcbresnik@gmail.com)
Its really sadly to see it. You have absolutly right D9 and It fucked me up, that I abort my piano lessons after 2 1/2 years. Love it to play like this.
@bornmusician - yes, he's probably been playing for 20-25 years and no doubt spends 4-6 hrs a day practicing. you don't get that good without spending a lot of time on your horn. plus... he's a naturally talented guy.
Jamie, I just came accross your video this eve, and was very impressed. You have a very original style. Very bluesy. I love all the riffs. Keep up the good work, and thanks for sharing this video
Hi! I also play the piano and, even though I would love to play the piano as well as this genius, I'm not him. He's Jamie Cullum, my favorite musician, a 29 year old pianist from England. He's just brilliant! He has the rhythm, the style and, most of all, the skills I would like to have! Search for more videos with him in youtube! Thanks for the comment!
Top class player
