Scottie was probably the only player, aside from Michael himself, that could effectively guard Jordan day in and day out. People never give Scottie enough credit for what he did for those Bulls championship teams. Perfect complimentary player to Michael, in my opinion.

@lilHippo No. You can catch the ball mid air and land. He didn't dribble prior or touch the ground prior to touching that ball. You can catch the ball from a pass while in the air and land on the ground, it does not count as a travel.

Pippen by 1999 was well out of his prime. Kobe was quicker and more athletic at that point, he was only 21 or 22, Pip was close to 34. In the early 90s Pip would have locked Kobe's ass down, no doubt about it.

Bryant is the greatest offensive player in NBA history but yet in his 16th year is still 4000+ points short of MJ's total career points (32,000) which he got in 14 years. MJ also scored on stingier defenses, and also played in an era full of legendary big men which made driving to the basket more difficult.

@Kingjd87 C'mon bud, Bryant came in out of highschool, played the majority of his career with Shaq and in the triangle. Obviously all of those things hurt his numbers. If you don't believe me, youtube "Phil Jackson say Kobe is more skilled than Jordan". Jackson would know better than all of us, and he's said it on record several times. Also, Jordan never had to deal with zones or box and 1's. Jordan will always be the GOAT, but Bryant has WAY more tools in his offensive tool box.

Phil also wrote a book in which he said "Kobe was uncoachable." Last year Phil publically criticized Kobe for losing games (for taking erratic shots). Phil never once said anything negative about MJ. Phil also said MJ was the best ever in many interviews. Kobe coming straight from HS should be more reason as to why he should be ahead of MJ in points right now. MJ played 3 years of college ball and still managed to score 32K points in 14 years....

Jordan had a better mind [or will would probably be more apprpriate], but Bryant has a better handle, a better outside jumper, a better off hand and a better face up game.
