  • "La Sererissima" was the name of Venice Republic (Italy) during its best period (1100-1400).

  • Scottish folk music is very similar to Irish folk, it's Celtic

  • @Yakuza0234 Not quite Celtic, but they are very similar, and just as Irish music speaks to someones heart, so does Scottish music.

  • @Yakuza0234 depends on which part of Scotland you are from as there are different styles depending where you come from Shetland music is differenht to lowlands and Highlands music and vice-versa.

  • beautifulllllll just beautiful!!!! and very nice music.

Enya is good but loreena is much much better!! :)

  • @beowulfsword08 Strange it was called The Sun In The Stream when I bought from itunes !

    Not to worry...lol .

  • I hope you do, but don't stop there, it more than likely goes back through either Norse or Irish (the Scotti came from Ireland) connections then through to the Mediterranean countries, the cradle of civilisation.

  • Amazing! My families ancestry actually goes back to Drum Castle. I really really hope to be able to see it in person one day.

  • Thanks for sharing I plan to visit Drum Castle someday. My cousin did a study of our family tree and found out we are related to the Irvine family of Drum. The spelling of my name is Irvin the E got dropped of the end in the early 1800s as my direct ancestors came to Kentucky from Virginia. There is another branch of us in Kentucky that spell it Irvine. Anyways..... thanks This is special.

  • Your more than welcome i'm glad you enjoyed viewing. I hope you manage to visit the castle someday it's a bonnie place,Yeah there seems to be a couple of ways at least to spell Irvine.lol.

Thanks again and a' the best fae Scotland.

  • I am also a direct descendant of the Irvines Of Drum Castle.

  • Cheers good for you all the best.

  • Thanx a lot :)

  • I love the Scottish music

especially when I hear it from Loreena

  • Based on what I recall, those are Irish bagpipes. The Scottish ones have 'drones' and the Irish style is very much to roll & slur the notes as can be heard. But, I may be wrong. It might be some Scottish pipes I haven't heard before.

  • Sounds like the Uileann pipes doesn't it.

  • Thanks it may be but im no expert.

    A' the best.

  • @10valente except the Enya music is Irish and is using Uillean pipes not parlour or the large pipes of Scotland.

  • Very good it's a fine castle to visit.

  • Drum Castle! That's my ancestral home! I am a direct descendant of the Irvines of Drum!

  • So is my husband.

  • @wanzenettl So am I, I have a picture that I restored from a painting of Lady Euphemia Douglas Irvine. My family once lived at Drum. We are in the book of peerage, have you seen it?

  • @wanzenettl I haven't traced back that far, but my maiden name is Erwin so I would like to believe I am a descendant as well! Cheers!

  • Thanx a lot glad you enjoy it.

    Cheers.

  • Nice and relaxing.

    Realy great music

  • My family is of blood relation to Clan Irwin of Drum. Thanks You..

  • Thanx again all the best.

  • So relaxing and so beautiful..
