But Jamie did say Doug was talking before the roast too. I think he knew what he was getting into but didn't know enough to come prepared.

The other way to look at it is that he gave him Doug Williams a real opportunity. If he'd somehow managed to best Jamie, or even get back at him a little bit, his career would've been well on its way. But he couldn't say one thing in his own defense, which is inexcusable for a stand-up comedian.
