These individual artists did this song in the opinion of an Irishman a HELL of a lot better than Metallica or Think Lizzy. They kept it slow and unique without changing the original too much although the Irish version is still the best without a doubt.

This is an old Irish song. Metallica heard Thin Lizzy do it and thought they would give it a shot. I like all the versions, depends on what mood I'm in. If you don't know of Thin Lizzy you should dig into them and check them out, they had some of the best musicians there have been and definitely have their own style. I'm sure the guys from Metallica agree 100%.

The first version I heard was Metallica's version on the radio way back when and I thought, "Wow, Metallica wrote a pretty catchy song too bad it's Metallica so it sounds terrible" haha, then I found out they didn't write it, explains why it was good song writing. This version of course is the best I've heard yet, I have always loved when Jerry teams up with Grisman. I'll even rock out their children's album, "Not Just For Kids" it's called, check it out.
