smokingstbandit67; I couldn't agree more with your comment. I'm a retired Pedal Steel Guitarist [thank god] in Nashville Tennessee area and turned totally sick of the agenda of most artist's coddling to the phony agenda of political correctness and mainstream religious bullshit. Since smoking was banned in bars I refuse to play in them, The limp wristed producers of Gaylord entertainment and Do Good" assholes of family value organizations have completely destroyed the "REAL" in Country music.
@cowboy6591 My Dad has played guitar and harmonica for over 40 years..Refused to record in a studio because of all the politics involved in making records. I have him on video playing in W.Va. at the state Bluegrass festival with his guys..They all say the same thing
I can't wait for this fagot to die! Fucking stupid bitches will be crying everywhere! Easy pickings. I'll see some stupid cunt crying and I"ll come out to her all smooth and charming and ask "baby what's wrong?" and she'll say "Mike Ness died." That's when I"ll take advantage of her. Before she knows it, my dick will be in her mouth and two fingers in her asshole. I"ll pull out a piece of shit and extract a peanut from the shit or an undigested corn kernel and feed it to her. Fuck you Mike!
I know Mike Ness loves this music but I am not impressed with his voice -- very affected and contrived. But if it leads his fans to Jerry Lee, Hank and Johnny, who can complain.
The only kind of country i listen to is deadman's or outlaw's country, aka johnny cash or mike ness/social distortion country, there's something about it. It's dark, it's romantic, it's all about the feelings, it's bad ass more than anything.
@smokingbandit67 You ever checked out Hank Williams III, Those Poor Bastards, Sons of Perdition? That's some good country in the line of the old REAL country such as Hank Sr. and Johnny Cash. Dark and beautiful.
You think you're missing something? There is no way you can be a true fan of his music and not hear the influence songs like this have had on his life. When I first heard this album I truly understood where SD came from, though I had been a fan for years. I bet you have moshed many times to Ring of Fire but never asked yourself if you were missing something before. Nothing wrong with getting in touch with the roots of music, my friend...

Interesting, mrtwang32. I find his voice totally real and full of feeling. I like mostly outlaw country, and I love Mike Ness doing country.

Hank Williams cover. Just excellent. Does an amazing Bob Dylan's Don't think twice. Mike knows music and refuses to butcher classics.
