Yes mate your 100% correct about this being the first match of the origion of "super saturday" september 8th 1984.I remember the day well even though i was only 12 years old.The day finished 11.13pm although i live in australia so i was able to watch all three matches it from early morning around 3am sunday morning our time through to 1.13pm when john mcenroe beat jimmy connors 6-3 in the fifth set.

Final match of the day was, Second SF, McEnroe d. Connors, 6-4,5-7,0-6,6-3,7-6,
