Has anybody already said this but... it looks like a DeHavilland Comet which has had a little too much vodka, no offence, but it looks like a russianised comet.

Nope it is not. Nothing in common, was developed earlier in time than Comet and had no fatal design flaws inlike Comet. (But I still like Comet very much. Cool plane, almost as cool as Tu 104 )

How was it earlier in time than the Comet? It was the world's first Jet airliner! But anyways, it was a great plane and had it not been for a simple design mistake in the shape of the windows the European air companies would be ahead of their American adversaries.

Yes. Comet was the first. But Tupolev did not copied anything, because 104 project started in late 40's as piston prop Tu 85. Than it was changed for the jet version. It flew in 1956 fot the first time 4 years later than Comet.

Because in X-Plane the emphasis is on physical realism. Super spiffy graphics are for good for video games, but true to life physical response is for true simulators.

not anymore, try x plane 9, Austin really put a focus on eyecandy with this release. Still has the awesome flight dynamics, but now surpasses FS2004 in scenery by far and is pretty darn close to FSX. Just try out some of the virtual cockpits in V9
