I found one good hidden feature of this heli. They probably added a larger than normal battery to power the video camera too, hence the need to charge it via USB instead of AA batteries. Because of this, I discovered that if you don't use the cam, you can get longer-than normal flight times versus non-camera-bearing helicopters. I get lots of flight time with it playing chicken with my cat as he tries to catch that "big noisy mosquito".

wonder why airhogs didnt puy a gyro on this one, or at least a tail and rotor...i know it just a toy grade heli but they couldve put little more effort into it

@jsax426 It doesn't need a tail rotor with dual main props controlling yaw. A gyro would have been nice, but probably would have driven it above an already too high $60.

Hopefully their next flying camera aircraft will have at least 640x480 video plus sound, though the motor noise would probably overwhelm any microphone.

@FonzoCapone No. You record or shoot images in flight, then afterwards connect it to your PC to upload the data for viewing.

I need help! I cant get my kids hawk eye to work, this is the second one (I thought the first one was malfunctioning but replacement is the same) I cant get it off the ground, as soon as i power up it shoots to the side and drags along the ground. I mess with the trim turning it in slight increments and it seems to change the flight slightly but never to get it airborne for more than a second or two. holding it up so it floats down leaves it spinning like top as it descends. my kids way bummed..

@thedecaycafe You arent lifting the throttle fast enough In order to get it in the air quickly you need to lift the control stick faster.

@thedecaycafe fiddle with the trim some more. this is my first ever RC/IR toy in my life(in 22 - pretty sad isnt it lol). i was struggling hecticly with the same issues you mentioned. slowly however ive just started having some sort of reasonable flying experience. i cant take off from the ground yet, but holding it up and then giving it a slight push up it comes right. if the trim is off like mine was, it will spin like a top.

For some reason, all the airhogs stuff I bought, they all failed the same day I opened it. Even this one...my airhogs hawkeye refuses to turn left...I even contacted them and airhogs couldn't find me the solution.

I'm glad that Air Hogs is doing the 2.4 stuff. I mean, infrared is good and all but i have to fly with the lights and the t.v. off (remote interference) or i can only fly outside on a calm night. bad-ass room by the way :D

i think that the reason it is only 2 channel is because if they made it 3 channels, then all they're other heli's would be worthless. It would be like, hey, do you want a helicopter that flies very good but has no camera or, do you want a helicopter that flies very good and ha a camera. Everyone would pick the one WITH the camera, then no one would buy the other helis

it probably keeps going foward because of how heavy the camera is which is making it tilt foward and making it constantly moving foward.... I suggest addind a back counterweight that come with other airhogs helicopters.

Someone please help this is my second air hogs hawk eye!!! i do not not not! want to return another one. Anyways when i turn on my hawk eye the green l-ed light is on, after 5 seconds it turns red and takes auto pictures, the only way to stop it is if you turn off the hawk eye, also when i try to fly it, it doesn't fly, the propelers wont move. I did nothing wrong with it at all, always flew it indoors. i have only used it twice! someone help please!!!!!!!!

its pretty cool, video quality is fine for me, but i cant seem to turn or trim it right. hopefully air hogs will make a better one with sound and quieter oh and make the controls easier.

i got one of these for christmas, it was great for the three days it worked. I did some research and found out its a known factory made problem with the signal between the heli and the controler. the flight signals are interrupted by the camer/video signals and it doesnt fly at all while taking hundreds of pictures

ballast man! All the reflex style heli's require ballast to adjust forward flight speed. Trim this back to a slow crawl and you should have a really neat video platform (and your stills will come out a lot better!).

@reggiexxxking You must plug the helicopter onto the controller, then use the USB port and plug it both to the controller and the computer. Make Sure the controller is off, and the helicopter is on the charge setting.

reggiexxxxking I know mines crap to it destroys itself in flight only worked good a few times. To charge it you need to put it on the controller and connect the USB cord to the controller & your computer.
