@TheMykMan I think the Droid X or Fascinate have good battery life. The motorla feels more solid while I personally like the fascinate better due to the screen and screen size. Both phones will get you through the day without charging, but in my own tests the Fascinate lasted a couple hours longer while other reviews would say otherwise.

The signal strength you see on the screen is ONLY user interface representations of the actual signal strength. This is determined SOLEY by the manufacturers decision to make each strength shown with a different picture. TRUE signal strength can be seen by going to menu>settings>status (for moto droid at least, its always somewhere is settings to see actual signal strength). I DETEST when people compare signal strength with their phones are side by side by looking at the signal indicator.

I have a Fascinate right now and am thinking of switching to Droid X, not because of the phone but because of the backing behind the phone. First off it has Bing as its default search engine....nuff said there. Second, Samsung seems extremely slow to the punch to upgrade to 2.2 especially since 2.3 "Gingerbread" is about to drop. Either way, I'm quite sure they're both superior to the iPhone. I had one and was not impressed what so ever, it's pretty much an iPod Touch with a phone.

@AlexASGR I personally use the iPhone 4 and prefer it over android. Definitely not a Samsung rep. When it comes to Android phones I like the Galaxy S (Fascinate) the best personally. The Droid X is very nice, but I prefer the Samsung due to the amoled screen and music player. If anything I would be on the Apple fanboy side, but I am trying to do an objective review.

I almost get the facinate, but I decided to get the droid x. The reason y I choose the droid x is just reason, internal memory. Facinate it only have 2gb while the droid x have 8 gb.

From What i have read, AMOLED uses more power when displaying WHITE color like webpages. This explains why some people get different results when testing battery life. If you do more webpage browsing than apps, games, and movies, then the Droid X will have Better battery life. Otherwise AMOLED gives more efficiency /better battery life and has better contrast ratios than Droidx

Got them both. They are both excellent products. It's unlikely that you will be disappointed with either of these phones. I prefer the Samsung Fascinate because of the superior display, but overall it's a close call.

I have already gone through 3 Droid Xs since July 15th and my Fascinate is coming in the mail tomorrow.....Droid X really disappointed me! Hopefully Samsung did a better job on their new Smartphone! Thanks for the review

I have the droid x and my fiance has the fascinate..my x out performs by far..the fascinate is a decent phone but in no way better than the x..the screen isn't even better on the fascinate it just more glossy like..the build quality is better on the x too..both are decent android devices and are better than iphone

i am looking to upgrade me verizon phone and i was torn apart between the driod x and fascinate .... even though fascinate looks a lot brighter, faster and colorful... i find the driod x ... uumm more 'mature' for lack of a better term. I mean, the fascinate looks just too glossy, loli pop style. maybe i just like my phone to be a bit subtle and sophisticated .. not out and about! .. its the droid x for me!

(1) your droid x may have a wifi issue. are you able to compare two droid x on your wifi ? (2) does the voice search on the Samsung go to Bing or google ? short pressing the search button on lower right of device on most androids brings up Google search... with a long press giving a voice search on google. What does the samsung do ? (3) how do the phones compare in the normal benchmark tests ? (4) Light colored background/screen may affect AMOLED displays battery consumption.

@zillyzachary if your all bout camera you should get the droid x cause it has a 8megapixel camera. if your all about display the samsung has a better screen resolution... I brought the samsung facinate because i dont want a big phone and it has everything the droid x has....

@davelux42 not really the droid x/ motorola phones have a second delay every time you snap a picture while the galaxy s doesn't, the picture snaps instantly, secondly the pictures themselves look better, more megapixels means you get bigger pictures not necessarily better looking,

infact I've yet to see a 8 Megapixel camera phone with decent quality, for some reason that particular size produces the most awful pictures ever. most of the 5 megapixel cameras are actually much better IMO.
