When people of the country are directly involved in the government of the county, this is what is called a true democracy. Libya had a direct democracy that was ran by peoples committees and people's congresses. When people of the country are directly involved in the government of the county, this is what is called a true democracy. Normally 3 reasons, or a combination of them, encourage the West to do what they do:
(1) Religion (not the biggest reason but it's important nonetheless);
(2) economic interest (this is usually the biggest factor); and
(3) "geo-political" consideration.
